What wonderful music that makes us transcend to fantastic emotional levels. Fauré was in fact a musical genius, unfortunately little known. His music has an indescribable sensibility and beauty. This masterpiece is sublime and fabulous in the way it was written. The lyricism of some parts is indescribable in beauty and sensibility. The direction and the orchestra are superb. Thanks for these moments of unforgettable pleasure.

wellllll,, to be pedantic; it is a German orchestra, but there are loads of non-Germans in it's ranks. The principal flute is Spanish and the second flute if American...very, very German ;).
dude forcaster One small clarification: It’s true that Clara Andrada de la Calle, one of the principal flutes of this orchestra, is Spanish, but the principal flute in this performance-Sebastian Wittiber-is German (a Frankfurter, in fact).
Hate to burst your bubble, but: most orchestras around the world have musicians from all over. Just because it's "Hessian," doesn't mean they're German musicians. Secondy, the conductor is French. I think it's great all the way around, but don't think they are Germans playing "sensitively."
@@nedcrouch3202 Hate to be a d*ckhead like you, but it's secondly, not secondy. Also that colon after 'but' was not necessary. Just because in today's day and age grammar and spelling are things that aren't taught properly anymore, you don't have any reason to make such basic errors.
I second. Just finished watching their Mahler 6. Tears 'n goosebumps. My recommendation: watch their Mozart KV 488 with Rafal Blechacz from same concert mid October in Alte Oper prior to Mahler Six .
I subscribed to them because I'm so knocked out by their sound and the beautiful video production which is almost like being on stage. Vielen Danke and best wishes.
How exciting to hear a very familiar piece in a fresh, different performance! Having arranged some of this suite for piano, there are no real surprises in the inner parts, but the way this group brings one or another to the fore is invigorating (e.g. the little bassoon interpolation at 11'34'). Much as I love my old Ansermet record, this is infinitely clearer.--and different in some ways. Is that a German oboe? It has quite a different sound, making little solos like at 2'15' more authoritative. A great pleasure.
It is good that, in contrast to UA-cam videos of the e.g. the 1950s, that so may musicians in orchestras of today are young and female. We will all have seen performances from those "old times" where all of the players were middle aged men and elderly men.
Oh you are talkimn' aboiut the "old days" of the 19 80's when conductor Herbert von Karahan, and even Leonard Bernstein, would lead those "lily white" symphony orchestras. The music hasn't changed, just the way that it's delivered .
Well, M Leleux recognised the work of Anne-Sophie Bertrand even if the cameramen and/or producer failed to realise that in the sicilienne there was a harp in there somewhere.
I see what you mean, the Fileuse is pretty brisk. But bless their hearts, it hangs together. If memory serves, that piece is just an interlude and not a melodrama (with spoken text) so it would be okay.
So much unnecessary subdividing and shoddy conducting technique...which only demonstrates that that doesn’t matter if a conductor understands the music they’re conducting, because this is probably one of the best orchestral performances I’ve ever heard
Dans the Blind Man cries

Great performance! and great first flute on Sicilienne, very sensitive... Faure was a true master! :)

Quelle belle musique !
How wonderful to hear these German musicians play French music so sensitively! And Bravo to their conductor!

@@dudeforcaster8630 But (if you're still following this) is that a German oboe? Not the player, but the instrument.
The Ozawa recording of this piece is one of my favorite and I own about eight thousand. This is a fine performance as well. Bravo!
You own about 8000 recordings of this piece? ;-)
Found this performance Feb. 2023, it is beautiful. I’ve listened it to it multiple times, esp. the 2nd movement. Amazing flutist.
Actually the 3rd movement.
Hehe, had thought - isn't it 3rd movement? Til before seeing this one@@madolynhayne9027
Fauré makes lovely seem easy.
Sicilienne is my favorite section, and they absolutely nailed it. 😊
What an amazing composer ! Hauntingly beautiful music.
My favorite orchestra!
Debussy's playing the flute.
Edit: He's Sebastian Wittiber, one of the best flautist I've ever witnessed.
He is so more George Bizet instead but yes, he also looks like Debussy, just more like Bizet
I heard this magnificent music, with Sydney Symphony Conducted by Francois Leleux 23/2/18, What a Beautiful Concert. See it Live if you Can. Thank you
have watched and listened to many, many videos of this orchestra and must confess : I am in love with it

Music: the best thing humans do together.
I wonder if we could stay sane without it. It's that, we escape ourselves as when we sleep; but here we escape into a state of -----------?

Très belle interprétation. Et la douceur de cette sicilienne...
Bravo!
une mention particulière au hautbois .....très beau son ....;
perfect
I should have left out "German". Great musicians come from all over the world.
Not to fret. It is a German orchestra, after all, being in Frankfurt.
Excellent.,

Yep!
Yes.. They didn’t care much about cellos, trombones, bassoon when they had big moments
Bliss.
Merci
❤️😍😍
Hyouka?
2:49 who's the female cellist on the left? Looks like Jacqueline Du Pré.
Sehr niedlich!

10.06 IS HYOUKA OST!
found this song on the radio and saw that it is when I was rewatching
Concertmaster looks like mahler
the flutist looks like debussy
Whenever I watch orchestra videos, I find myself staring at the one hottie that's usually there.
I spotted here right away! Were both such creeps, heh heh!
LOL
So legit
You talking about guys or the girls there? 😂 love this

Superbe.
In case anyone wonders, that was Catalán
...maybe more French musicians than German ones in this awesome orchestra....
Fileuse is maybe a little too fast.
Sicilienne perfect though.

🐢👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The beautiful cello solo in the sicilienne is lost behind the rest of the orchestra. Leleux should have
paid more attention to balance here.
It's entirely possible it was fine in the hall.
So much unnecessary subdividing and shoddy conducting technique...which only demonstrates that that doesn’t matter if a conductor understands the music they’re conducting, because this is probably one of the best orchestral performances I’ve ever heard
I was going to make a reasoned and well thought out analytical response to this but all I’ve got is: “bitch, please!”
