  • In this episode we spent an afternoon in Brescia, a city we were blown away by at first glance... Amazing architecture, stunning piazza's but best of all; a UNESCO heritage sight in the middle of the city. We visited these spectacular roman ruins and an old Romand theatre that we had all to ourselves. If you do find yourselves in the area than Brescia is definitely worth a stop or even spend a few days there.

Bresciana here. We locals have actually been keeping our city a secret! Just joking. We're actually a hard working industrial town that's never had to rely on tourism. I used to regret this but when I see how mass tourism destroys places I'm hoping that our little gem of a town will continue to go undetected. I'm sorry for the well behaved and respectful tourists like yourselves (who are always welcome) however, after seeing how hordes of foreign disrespectful tourists have treated other Italian cities I just hope we stay off the tourist map.

Brescia is very close to where my sister lives. I think it’s stunning….and I hope the secret never gets out.
In the summer, the city is practically empty and I enjoy having the streets to myself a little too much!! ❤️

so true! so many places to enjoy... Italy really never disappoints. With Brescia we were so impressed because it's so close Garda which is full of tourists but then nobody seems to come to Brescia and the Roman ruins were magnificent.
