Englund Gambit Gameplay: ua-cam.com/video/pB9XjT-i2IU/v-deo.html
when are you live on twitch?
Doesn't work in any midrange players. If your opponent rating is above 1400, don't bother playing this, you will end up with a worse position than white in about 80% of time.
My elo rating is 1900 . I'm going to this 1.. he played e4
It’s a fun gambit, thank you
Must be get lucky so he doesn't move night to c3 ur position is bad now.

So true
That's me 😂 GM can't predict unprofessional player's move
then just take the pawn
i stg
then u win a pawn and the center
englund gambit is very unsound so be wary when using it, in higher ratings its easily counteredand loses for black
i love when folks play it against me i can easily get a winning position cuz i know the theory xD
@@switch_val8865 i still play it because i know the more advanced theory
I play it at 1200 and still get plenty of wins. I guess 1200 isn't very high rated though
@@harrisonsherwood4028 heh, I know the EVEN more advanced theory, I’m kinda unbeatable
@@angelman906 and ur elo is?
Whenever I play chess, most of the time the enemy knows what I'm going to do next more than I do myself.

How can they know my next move when I don’t even know it, gotta keep ‘Em on their toes.

“And now they usually play…”
… the reason I can never memorize gambits
Wdym???
@@di-egohumilde4515 Keyword is “usually.” Below 1600 they never play the usual moves. Can’t memorize the opening.
@@JordanMetroidManiac for real below 1000 it literally seems like random moves, theory won’t help you
Bruh just capture the pawn, you are up in development
thats why its called a gambit
keep posting these dubious openings so i can farm the easy wins
I didn't have time to mention I've won 60% with this opening up to 1500 rating, which is higher rated than 90% of people watching this. If white knows how to play, you're in trouble. However, you can play this every time against d4, but white probably won't be too familiar because it's not as common.
@@BobbyBoJanglles fair, no hate love your vids
@@BobbyBoJanglles experienced players will realize the queen on e7 is a bad move temporary delay move and wasting tempo. so this gambit will only work on lower ratings
@@HectorNykterstein yeah 1500 is low. When i was 1600-1700 95% will never fall for this but there was still people who would fall for englund gambit traps, not this one shown in the video but when queen is on B2 and white free/protect the rook with knight C3 u play knight B4 and then white play rook B1 losing the queen😂🤣😂😂
Fr. This only works against elo 700 and lower 😂
The only problem with this is when you take pawn with queen at B2, all they have to do is move knight to C3 and all of that means nothing, trust me I just did all of that just for the other guy to play knight C3 and I ended up losing that game
Yep, traps your queen. You basically traded a queen for the knight that's keeping it there. Not good.
Literally everyone will play knight c3, too.
I have come to the comments to see who says this as it happens all the time to me.
Best move is queen A3 I think, then just freestyle from there and you're putting on a lot of pressure. Time an escape if needed
@@danielshields34 Then white will move Nb5 & you are done.
This is exactly what Yr opponent will do..
Welp I hope my opponent sees this video so he knows we’re to move for me🤣🤣
I just used this move on an online game😂😂😂 so proud of myself
It all falls apart when the bishop plays D7
Eng-lund sounds funny to my indian ears. I am wheezing and yes my sense of humor is non existent.
Lund ka gambit haii😂
I was looking for my countrymen 🙌🏼
I found something funny in my library book
"He drenched his tobacco with LAUDAnum"
And yes this is typical indian school humor
😂
Yeah but if your opponent knows how to play against the englund, you can find yourself in a losing position really quickly.
Cause it is losing lol
I just saw some dumb guy tried it on me, didnt go well for him
😂😂🤣💀💀
What happened to him
@@Pale3110 knight can break this gambit he must have lost
@@Hm-vp6no ooo
Ya i also broke this Gambit by taking queen D4 after black knight takes bishop and that was ended with queen trade and i had great position in that match ..
99 out of 100 people will develop the knight not move the bishop to protect the rook
He can easily move the knight defending the rook after the queen attack the rook
He showed that possible scenario
True all played that
@@orlandorodriguez7235 no he didn't. He showed that AFTER the bishop's return. Covering the king with knight stops the attack altogether.
After ...Nc6 opponent plays e4 then you snap and grab him by the throat and scream, "You're supposed to protect your pawn with Nf3!".
They usually play pawn c3 and the gambit is over
I have literally never had this work out for me haha. The opponent has always known the theory before
It you learn a gambit at a decent rating, your opponents will likely have faced it at least once. I started playing chess with the Fried Liver and have only lost 1 game with it ever since. I don’t remember the last time someone willingly or unknowingly played into a fried liver though.
@@marianorivera3272 the fried liver is easily countered with the traxler. I still have yet to use it tho, no one plays the fried liver anymore
My favorite gambit too. I have a whole study on LiChess. I learnt every move by heart. Thankyou, Black player, for the +2.5 eval after moves are done.
Mine is the Fried Liver. I started playing chess because of the Fried Liver. I would blindly play 1.e4 2.Nf3 3. Bc4 4.Nc5 regardless of what my opponent played. I have some games that are too old to analyse where there isn’t even a black Knight on f6 and black just plays 4…Qxg5 and I lose the game.
Nowadays, whenever I get a fried liver, I usually win the game with more time on my clock than I started with.
You're welcome. Congrats on hitting a thousand.
The “best move” is actually knight to d2 because then the queen defends the rook earlier
This looses a bishop
Then the bishop hangs
No no no. Accept the gambit and play nf3 Bf4 as white. If black try this nc6 qe7 nonsense retreat the bishop to d2 if qb4+, then if they take b2 it's already +5 for white. Nc3 and rb1 blacks queen is getting trapped or losing a rook with nc7+
Knight on g3 can also be used to break the pin
How exactly do u play the knight to G3?? 😂
Do u mean to say knight to D2?
“Blocks with the bishop” like 50% of my games they just have their bishop.
Why does the opponent never move like the gambit
me playing black: please do d4
white: e4
Me when the Opponent doesn't accept the Gambit: *Wait a minute...*
Bobby how did you climb to 1500? Did you use any materials etc? Thank you for the great content as always!
On my elo after first check they would just move pawn forward to block it
The knight was already protecting the pawn
This is the first chess trap I have ever learnt
These are so great. Keep them coming. Thank you! God bless!
White: Plays pawn 3h 💀
this gambit can go so many ways
The funny thing about taking that pawn trapping the rook with the queen is that if they do the best move you're totally dead both in development and control of squares
Indians after hearing englund 💀💀
Bro.. 😂😂😂😂
I beat a 1100 with this(i am 700)
@Augustus wdym it was on the board
@History Lover u don't I started with 600
"ATTACKING THE PAWN" "DEFENDING THE PAWN" "ATTACKING THE PAWN" DEFENDING THE PAWN"
*gonna watch this over and over till I've memorized it*
I've done this by accident before lol
Same, i think thats mainly because most of the moves are natural looking
They can just play Nc3 on white's 5th move to defend the rook (gets defended by the queen) Yes white lost a pawn but white survived Black's attack and the game continues
As a london player, I fell to this a handful of times, but I now know the line more then black usually does and it gives me a better position
That’s when you hit ‘em with a 1. d4 e5 2. e4 exd4 3. c3
That's nasty
Nc3 counters this so hard haha
Not really, lol, that's main line theory. Black has a somewhat solid response for that. It's better to just go d5 after e5 and lock the centre at the beginning, to be honest.
It makes it very cramped for black, and it makes it difficult to develop properly, as white will develop and defend the pawn at a rapid pace.
@@GustavRex engine is at -3 after Nc3 and it's obvious why. Black sacs a pawn just for tricks and if they win it back with Qxb2 white is quick to develop all their pieces and launch an attack. Also, accepting the gambit is the best move.
Ememy: *does another move*
Me: No, your not supposed to do that.
"Knight to F3 to defend the pawn"
My opponent playing a random pawn move:
This works perfectly against my 8 year old brother 💀
This is my favorite line with black, but is bd2 really the best move against qb4 check?? I faced many good defenses against qb4 but usually if they play bd2 they just lose right away lol
They should’ve brought the knight which defends the rook and stops check
if they dont play bd2 then you can take the bishop
@@asdasf8817 then black falls into a trap.
nd3 to block check, qxe4, nd5, which threatens the black queen and nxc7+ winning the rook.
NC3 is best
@@josephroxursox you are usually winning the rook as white or trapping blacks queen with Bd2. 1. d4 e5 2. dxe5 nc6 3. Nf3 Qe7 4. Bf4 Qb4+ 5. Bd2 Qxb2 6. nc3 (white's queen now defends the rook) 6. ...Bb4 7. Rb1 Qa3 8. Rb3 Qa5 (now white has the choice to play e3 or a3, both are +2 for white). if 6. ...nb4? Threatening to take c2 with smothered check loses white's queen unless white defends with nd4. Now both knights are eyeing b5. After 8. ...Qa5 9. a3 threatens the bishop. If black takes, 9. ...Bxa3 he's basically lost. 10. Nd5 Qxb5 free rook! But nc7+ picks up the queen.
He plays with himself. He moved the black bishop with a white piece to the position of check and began to play according to his own moves. 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
its funny how the right knight of the opponent is chillin and not considered like he does not even exist
That's so cool, guess I'll take a break from the French defence.
The Englund is veeery unstable and is losing quite big for black, even when white is just playing relatively natural moves. Do try it out, it's fun, but it's extremely unreliable and quite easy to play against, if you just know the basics.
Do mind, though, the Englund starts with d4, whereas with the French, your opponent has to play e4
@@GustavRex yes because queen e7 is waste of tempo
Check out this trap I learned from Nelson on Chess Vibes, Leonhardt gambit of scandinavian
1) e4 d5 2) exd5 Qxd5 3) Nc3 Qa5 4) b4 Qxb4 5) Nb5 Qa5 6) Bc4 a6 or c6 by black is a blunder because of 7) Bxf7+ Kxf7 8) Qh5+ g6 9) Nd6+ and the black queen is lost because the Queen on a5 xrays it lol
between this and the Evans Gambit b4 is the most potent chess move fite me 😤😤
I love it when a plan comes together!
A comment so that I can revisit this again
Opponent not playing the right moves
Me: Hey that wasnt part of the script
The first move to protect the white pawn it was already protected by the knight .

They could’ve just took out the queen with their bishop
No one above 1000 falls for that.
I've actually stumbled on this one it's basically my go to most games I've played were similar to this in the beginning
The move was the push pawn forward, not bringing the bishop back
I feel like no one falls for this anymore
“Yo bro can you move your knight”
“No”
“Reload it and stay focused”
as an Indian this is our favorite gambit😏

I fell for it once but never again 😂
You have a lot of favorite gambits, and also the first gambit you learned are many different gambits.
That was so sneaky... im calling the police
I will crush your "Englund Gambit"
When you play this and your opponent is above 500: 😭😭😭😭😭
Never heard of this gambit before. I did it completely by accident the other day. Yay.

This is awesome!
After Queen takes b2, knight C3 puts a lot of pressure on black.
Thanks man really helpful for me

they always defend the pawn with the queen
Let's imagine that the enemy isn't dumb
That’s one on the best gambits I’ve seen. I think that would work in a blitz game. I’m gonna try it thanks. I do good in regular chess but really poor in blitz. And everybody just wants to play blitz these days. No one gives merit to deep insightful chess.
its completely losing
Side note : all of this can be countered by moving the b6 pawn 2 steps before the knight
me trying a new chess move I learnt .... *them playing d6
Whenever this happens my opponent always moves his knight to C3 😭
I get excited every time someone tries this against me. It's funny watching them attack while my knight destroys their backline.
Bruh I had this perfectly and forgot a step. I finished blundering my queen
better to direct attack the queen than defending the pawn.
Nc3's honest reaction:
I usually move my knight so the queen defends the rook when playing against the Englund gambit
People tend to defend the pawn with the queen, the the strategy falls apart.
That one Indian guy watching the video title : Englund is very offends move
The Englund gambit has been refuted by theory. Any d4 player worth their salt can crush it easily
Still being useful for beginners
I wish all of your video just like this
