  • Here's an update on how we are coming along with the 2002 Satin Silver Metallic RSX Type-S 6-speed that I acquired from my neighbor Susan at the end of 2022. It has come a long way already and is currently being reworked by the wizards at Apex Wet Works in Phoenix. Thanks for watching!

    Just curious, do you buy these cars, restore/repair them, and just hang onto them? I can't imagine that's cheap.

      Very valid question! This stuff is crazy expensive (and I work 3 jobs to pay for it, haha). To put it into perspective, I'm spending about 5 times the amount I spent for the RSX itself to have the body work done. All said and done, many of my project cars don't break even financially. This RSX, my blue TSX, and a Legend will be up for sale likely by the end of the year. I am limited on space and resources. The joy for me is in bringing them back to life and then passing them on to another enthusiast. I admire the work you do as well!! Keep it up.

      @@TysonHugie The reason I ask is because we do a similar thing, just in different ways. It’s awesome seeing what you’re doing and I’m glad you’re interested in bringing back these cars to their former glory. I get satisfaction in making these cars better than when I got them as well. I just get curious how different people and UA-camrs make all the moving pieces work time and financially. I appreciate the reply and keep doing your thing.

    I have a totally stock 04 RSX that my dad bought new for my youngest brother and then it was handed down to my oldest son to learn on when he was 14, all my kids have learned how to drive in the RSX . Watching this makes me want to fix it up.

    Makes me wish I still had my 05. I drove it for my job for 3 years, put 75,000 miles on it, then traded it for an 09 TSX.

    Car is looking good! Just curious, would you ever restore/work on a CU2 Acura TSX? Maybe a 6 speed manual version or wagon? I know they're somewhat considered a black sheep in the Acura community, at least compared to the CL9 generation.

    would be fun to have the toy RSX repainted by the body shop to match the paint color of your car. lol.. Is the paint job on this car a single stage or a base + clear? I am planning to repaint my 95 Civic and one shop told me the original factory paint in early 90s were single stage. Not sure if that is true.

    The RSX is looking AMAZING! That shop does a phenomenal job on paint and bodywork. I’ve had the same conversation with myself about the curb rash on my wheels (original owner was a Curb Rash Pro, apparently) - but, as you said, there’s only so far you can go. Does the car need any mechanical work to stay in top shape?

    • @TysonHugie
      @TysonHugie  Рік тому +1
