Thanks for discovering Dimash. It's pronounced Deemaash. Dimash is from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and he currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1(B0) - whistle D8 off the piano) At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert).
But many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was amazing. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better.
Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing.

Here he sings in a competition for young musicians, called New Wave in Sochi, Russia. He was there in 2018 as a guest.
The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. These last three songs are mind-blowing and will leave you speechless. I promise.

OK, where to start? Dimash is 28 years old from Kazakhstan and has a rabid worldwide fan base in the millions he calls his Dears. He is a megastar in China, Russia and is s national treasure in Kazakhstan. His first album "iD" in 2019 in China went platinum in 37 seconds and triple platinum in an hour. A second album was released in Russia in 2021 in collaboration with Igor Krutoy, a billionaire Ukrainian/Russian music mogul and composer. Dimash has an almost 7 octave range with a whistle register in the 7th octave. I could write a dissertation on his career and musical education starting at the age of 5. SOS is the song that introduced Dimash to the world and opened many great opportunities and collaborations for him. This song comes from the famous 1978 Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania', which is well known in French-speaking countries, and is a pretty difficult song to sing. In 2017 Dimash received a wild card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant ever at 22 years old and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part in this competition. Although well-known and respected in his homeland Kazakhstan, nobody in China knew or heard about Dimash before, but with his first song, SOS, Dimash shocked the audience and captured the hearts of over 600 million of viewers overnight, and the rest is history as the saying goes. There are several versions of Dimash singing SOS, and each is somewhat different. This version is from his live digital concert during the pandemic when all in-person concerts were canceled.

He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. His mother is an opera singer and his father is a singer and producer. That song is based on a true story of a cable car accident in China. Everyone died except for a 2 1/2 year old boy. His father managed to lift him to safety. The woman who adopted him wrote the song from his point of view.
There is one thing you should know: this is "entry-level" Dimas (pronounced like "Dim Ash" ) . His others so,ngs will blow your mind.... Every single one of them. A good follow up song of his would be "Sinful Passion" or "Opera 2".
