Still love Gary Clark 💙 he will be remembered by his herkey jersey moves in the opened field. He didn't worry about getting hit he just wanted to make big plays.
I don't even remember this game. Damn, 240 yards!! Seems like I should remember that performance by a legend. I met Gary's brother about 15 yrs ago. Super, super nice guy. But, the funny thing was, he told me he hated the Redskins. He was a Dallas fan, lol. I kid you not. That shocked the heck out of me.
Same night as Game 7 of the World Series. I grew up a Redskins and Red Sox fan. Rough night for me in 10th grade. I was also in a cast having broken my ankle at football practice.
And most of those passes from Schroeder to Clark were either behind him or too far in front of him or he had to slow down to catch them. If Schroeder had been a little better in that game, Clark would have had over 300 yards with 4+ Tds.
A more interesting thing to watch in this video... How is Lawrence Taylor not destroying Jay Schroeder like he did later in the season making me a very unhappy redskins fan because this 1986 team was great, take away the giants and the Redskins are 14-2 Super Bowl Champions... But Lawrence Taylor being the best over all football player of all time made the 86 Giants one of the all time best teams.
See you know what matters...Catches and Yards don’t mean nothing if you don’t win the game..Know what it is you’re playing for What’s it worse..That goes in the game life first..They focus on b.s instead of the big picture..See it all honestly before making a Facts filled decision..Glad somebody else gets it
Ball was thrown behind Gary. He slipped reaching back for it. He didn't drop it. Barely even touched it. Would've been a game tying drive at best. LT was all over them that night too. '86 Redskins have to be best 14-2 team not to win their division. Giants were simply better. Thank you for watching.
@@nflxfiles Redskins were 12-4. but I believe without Lawrence Taylor the Redskins would have been a dominant 14-2. all time great type of team. Instead they lost to the giants twice the cowboys once and the Broncos late in the season in a close one. I honestly haven't seen that drop since Oct 1986, I never watch the games on UA-cam because it was a loss for my team. I can believe with Schroeders accuracy that it was likely behind him. He also threw the ball a little too hard at times.
@@johnliberty3647 Yes, 12-4, I meant, thank you. Your memory is solid. Schroeder could be erratic for sure (as could Williams & Rypien for that matter, ha) Don't like watching or reliving 'Skins loses, but single game receiving yardage mark for an organization who's suited up Milner, Mitchell, Taylor, Monk, Jefferson, Sanders, Allen*, among others, is a worthy achievement. Hail.
The Great Gary Clark! Awesome video. How is GC not in HOF?!?
Great, exciting football days!!!
Gary Clark was a super great receiver who played with a lot of heart.
I grew up with the Clark family in Virginia. Outstanding people.
How many brother did Gary have? Do you know any of them? I met one of them back 15 yrs ago, but I can't remember his name.
Underrated

No gloves in a late October game in New Jersey. I love it
Great protection at 3:24

In '86 Buddy Ryan stated that the only reason the Redskins weren't in the Super Bowl is because they were not in the other league...
Yep, the Giants won the Superbowl that year, then the Redskins won in 1987 with Doug Williams.

Wow! #HTTR
HOF!
A lot of these passes are short or behind Clark. What a game
and yet there game ended with Gary Clark dropping a 4th down and short pass on what should have been a game winning or game tying drive.
