Grateful to have work done from both Borrowed Time and Glitterpoop Studios. It's been great watching the podcast grow. Take it to the moon homies, you deserve it.
Appreciate that. Thank you man
It makes my heart warm to hear you ask about equality and openly question yourself about whether you should be treating a female apprentice the same. I truly almost cried, I hope you know this is a beautiful way of thinking and I’m so happy that you brought this up with a fellow female tattooer. Bravo ❤️ always so good to listen to your podcasts.
It was so fun being on the podcast! Thank you for hosting me
Man you guys are as bad at talking as you are drawing. Like 3 kids playing tattoo artists in their treehouse >__
Thanks for joining!
THANK YOU for acknowledging that at this point, sometimes, apprenticing is no longer an option. Doesn't mean we don't 'pay our dues'
Love hearing the stories about how y’all got started. Being in a shop is WILD and separates the weak from the strong. Nice to hear y’all talk about it
Great podcast, having the different ranges of experience made it dynamic. It was very nostalgic hearing the Glitterpoops timeline of events, Lola is a visionary, totally changed my mind of what getting a tattoo should be like as an experience.
I really appreciate y’all talking about apprenticeships. Im 29, father of two and married. I had my son super young, he had mad health issues the first 6 years so it was a working 24/7 that way I could pay for his medical and everything else. I’ve wanted to tattoo since I was 16, and am obsessed with y’all’s world. Im still trying to figure out how to get into one and pay my bills. Y’all are awesome. Keep it comin!
Thanks man. It's never too late to get into the industry so don't rush anything. Hope everything is okay with your son

Right here is what makes a good artist in general. It takes 10,000 hours to get good at something but if you keep the mentality of, "There is something new I can learn everyday." I think that's what puts you above the rest. I've been drawing for years and I even went to school for it I'm still learning, I try to learn something new everyday about my craft so I can better my skills.
Awesome episode.
Awhile back I asked for more details on the evolution of tattoo machines, thank you for incorporating that into the podcast
I love hearing you guys talk about apprenticeships and would love to hear more. Both from a mentor and mentee standpoints.
Definitely
I can’t believe there’s another podcast thank you all soooooo much
The comment about the acceptability of bonding on different levels as opposed to equal treatment is an interesting thought!
I’ve got a full time job work 70-80 hours a week . I’m slowly collecting everything I need to start my tattoo career . I’m also 34 . I’m almost done collecting the main gear for it . I’ve got to get out of the career I’m at now it’s killing me slowly everyday . I would do anything to snag a seat for an apprenticeship. I really would I will not stop until I find my opportunity . I really like this podcast man . Rock on brother . Much love bro . Thank you for the tips my man . And ladies .
I'm wrapping up the first year of my apprenticeship now, so this episode hit home! I'm 26, live on my own, have bills and a full time job outside of my apprenticeship but I've made it work one way or another. My mentor made the adjustment of having me do a lot of work at home so it was on me whether I'd fail or not, and I got close to quitting a couple of times... but he kept pushing me to stick with it. I just started on real skin recently and mainly focusing on anime work but I'm so happy I didn't give up. I can't wait to quit my corporate job and tattoo full time! Keep up the great work and these podcasts are so entertaining
Yooo she’s from my city and also Cuban that is sick thats where I did my first tattoo
These need to happen more often
The lighting of this episode is amazing!
I wait all week for this pod cast!!!!
Appreciate that
This podcast is awesome you guys keep it up
Wish I could fly over from Australia and get tattooed by Jon. And maybe a match from cam haha. Loving the podcast keep ‘em coming
Thank you. If i'm ever in Australia I will let you know
Got my ongoing support
Who’s here after he said he was disappointed?
This one was Deff inspirational 👌🏻
I stayed through the entire show, good episode. I loved the end when u guys were talking about the dildo machine
will there be video on spotify?
I apprenticed for 3 years, but I was 15 when I started
Man I gotta visit this shop
Glitter Poops 👏🏻👏🏻
Moving to Florida soon. Hopefully can get tattooed by you guys.
If you are a tattooer you don’t need to have a body suit but you should have some, if people don’t care that’s fine. But I care. And I won’t get work done by you, just based on principle.
Getting tattooed by someone without any tats is like hiring a personal trainer that’s outta shape. It doesn’t feel right.
Can mentioned me!!! I made it!!!
You guys are both owners and are relatively young. And the people you work with aren't like 65 years old. What happens when tattoo artists get old? And shop owners? Do they end up getting out at certain point? If so, do you think your generation of tattoo owners/artists will be different?
I think at a certain point but I do feel like this generation of tattoo artists will definitely be different. That would be a great topic on another podcast to discuss
@@unemployablepodcast yeah, you guys def should! I could totally see you and your peers staying in for the long run. There will always be something to do at a shop even if your hands have given up on you. Maybe, you'll control an AI tattoo machine instead in the future (omggg).
@@samgreason4449 that would definitely be crazy 😂 writing that down so we can discuss it on the next one 🙏
@@unemployablepodcast ahah right on! I'll check it out!
Youre just like an inky Mr Miyagi
What do you think about numbing cream? Seems like the ads are all over social media.. I figure if you can’t handle a tattoo don’t get one..
Let's not gatekeep tattooing. If someone wants ink and can get more comfort by use of another product, that's between them and their artist.
she's so deflective.
A tattoo artist with no tattoos is like a substance abuse counselor who never got high.
