    This is the most interesting behind the scenes look at a news station on UA-cam! Glad I watched! The tour guide is so intelligent, informative and professional. I am such a news fanatic and I just loved watching this! Learned so much. You guys have a cool studio facility. Makes me want to go there. Thank You for showing this :-)

    This was a very informative behind the scenes tour. Didn't know it was so much involved in putting a newscast together.By far that was one of the best behind the scenes I've ever watched.

    As a National News Anchor it feels so weird to see the newsroom so calm unlike in our control room it’s hectic like you’ve never seen before. Even if there is nothing on the air😂

    He makes reference to people not being able to get NBC and CBS right. NBC 10's 25th anniversary coverage of the 1995 switch had a story about that. Someone said that they tell the person "Ukee's on CBS, Hurricane Schwartz is on NBC," and that does the trick. Although now, Glenn is retired.

    • @syxepop
      @syxepop 3 роки тому +1

      Licensed, only WNBT (WNBC 4-1 on 7/1/1941 at 130pm) and WCBW (WCBS 2-1 30 minutes later as NBC "jumped the gun"), both in NYC.
      KYW CBS 3-1 (as Philco's WPTZ) did get the license the same day as the NYC stations, but weren't ready to broadcast officially and had to wait exactly 2 extra months (9/1/1941) to start.
      After those 3 WRGB (same call sign since licensed, initials from a GE engineer in charge) finally got its' license in 1942, while WABD (WNYW Fox5 NYC) did in 1944 broadcasting from the same building ever since...
      The predecessor of WRGB (Albany, NY CBS 6-1) went on the air by GE as an EXPERIMENTAL station in 1928, followed by the predecessor to WNBC (a pre-GE RCA started it) a few weeks later.

    All of the past and current glories stated are for naught if you are not trying to seek out the truth and truthfully report on it. The main stream news does not do this sadly, so I prefer no frills or flashiness and just the hard facts which can be rooted out with diligent effort from internet podcasts often from non professionals. I have worked in TV for over 45 years and I must admit this is a well done tour of the modern TV station operation.

    I've seen robocams and automated cameras screw the pooch live during newscasts hundreds of times. This anchor is telling us to get used to it, because it's gonna happen more often. The damn accountants & board members don't watch their own news shows and don't care if the production values fall so far off the cliff that their anchors look like the 3 stooges. Camera operators are not perfect, but they take pride in their work. Production labor was cut with the camops jobs, but that same amount now pays the CEO's ridiculous 30x paychecks. God damn the uber rich CEOs that killed off the middle class jobs & stole their paychecks.
