@@adolpholiverbush5867 Tom just bulldozes him tbh. Jon can't grapple men anywhere near his size who have done more than half a week of takedown defense, and Aspinall is statistically a more dangerous grappler than him with better takedown speed, success ratio, and a quicker takedown into submission rate. And striking wise it ain't even close. Jon has never hurt anyone with his hands, ever. And his kicks are only useful against 5'10 fat middleweights like DC. He ain't headkicking a 6'5 270lbs expert striker who trains with Rico Verhoeven and Tyson Fury. So Tom has basically nothing to fear from Jones. @@howardstewart2549 He just explained it. There's a lot politics and ducking in boxing and the best don't fight the best. @@Dr.Ian-Plect I think it's more nuanced than that, take a businessman for example. Evading certain taxes and price gouging are technically legal, but we praise those who are ethical and choose to do business fairly and thoughtfully. Despite the fact that Tom is "just following the rules", he is doing it in a very admirable way, whereas other competitors will technically also follow the rules but do so in a way that hurts their opponents more than necessary. Just my take on the situation
You know, Tom's a massive dude but he's fast and fluid-moving enough that I was surprised he was slightly heavier than Pavlovich in their fight. Nobody of his size has that athleticism, as far as I know.
To AWhistlingWolf: Do you recall the appearance of Romero, Soldier of God, when he looked like a combo of King Kong & Godzilla. He seemed unbeatable! But, as invincible as he appeared, for quite awhile, he got cut down. All but the very, very few remain for years, to retire undefeated.
@@howardstewart2549 Same story with Costa. Massively jacked dude, specially for middleweight, and he beat the crap out of great fighters left and right, was undefeated, he seemed unstoppable. And then Adesanya TKO'd him.
Aspinal is an animal. Jones is definitely going to want to fight Stipe over Aspinall. Even if Jones beats Stipe I think he will go back into semi retirement. Hope he fights Aspinall, that would be epic.
Tom is the real champ in my book. I'm neither American nor British, so I'm not biased. If Jones doesn't want to fight him and instead wants to fight a 40 something year old who hasn't fought in years, he should just vacate the belt. He's already admitting he can't fight the real contender by insisting on fighting Stipe. So why not just vacate the belt and do the money fights instead of wasting everyone's time? Huge fan of the channel all the way from Ethiopia. One of my absolute favorites on UA-cam.
Jones still makes lots of money for Dana. So that's why Dana still sucks his d$$k and lets him pick his fights. The champ is suppose to fight the interim champ and as you said, not a 40 + year old who's not even ranked anymore too.

But after watching this video, I can't wait to see that fight. And I love that he is so respectful and a good role model for all the kids that look up to UFC fighters. This is what a good martial artist should be. Great video man. Keep up the good work.
Jones will retire before fighting this man. He won't risk his legacy to fight everything he ran from the 205 division over. Tom is too fast and powerful he would beat Jones within the first round, likely 60 seconds.
Maybe! Jones would be the pro betting underdog. But, how slight the odds is hard to figure. Who sees it differently?
He could walk right through those pillow fists and just dogwalk him. Get inside that range and 1-2 his head into orbit.
@@adolpholiverbush5867 Your probably on to something there. You just can't ever count Jones out. Man, if we ever invent time travel. First thing we need to do is have all of the greats, in their primes, fight each other.
@@howardstewart2549 I could see that, Jones has the record, but is getting up there in age for a UFC fighter. But who knows, there are plenty of examples of people who stayed dangerous long after they shouldn't have been. I think that's one of the things that would make this fight, if it ever happens, so good.
Well said. Definitely a breath of fresh air in the heavyweight division.
If the UFC would just cut the cheating, drug addicted, drunk, lying, selfish, criminal already the division could really thrive.

One of the unique things about the UFC vs boxing for example is that the best fights the best. When that doesn't happen it really stands out. Would love to see Tom vs Jon, asap.
How is UFC different than pro boxing, as you said?
@howardstewart2549 in boxing the best dont fight the best hardly ever
@@howardstewart2549 He just explained it. There's a lot politics and ducking in boxing and the best don't fight the best. The reason why this Aspinall vs Jones situation has been so talked about is because it rarely happens in the UFC that a champion is allowed to duck the legitimate #1 contender.
There has been some decent fights in boxing lately but only due to the Saudis investing a ton of money to make it happen.
people dont realize how quick he actually is

I love that he doesnt hold his submissions beyond the tap. He wants to win, not cripple his opponent from fighting ever again. That's the best, when a fighter has respect like that. Youre the best, Tom!
Praise for merely adhering to the rules is trivial.
Totally agree!
@@Dr.Ian-Plect despite the rules being in place plenty of people push quite far past them with disregard for their opponents.
@@boxlad7583 I know, but that's irrelevant;. It still isn't praiseworthy when someone merely adheres to rules.
I like Aspinall, good skill and most importantly a respectful sportsman which is no small thing.
He is an spectacular warrior. Congrats champ.

He won’t.

Tom Aspinal considered by the world to be the real Heavy Weight Champion! It's true.
