Absolutely, can't stand the Anthony "the Cringe" Joshua types, doing a victory lap outside the ring when he beat an aging fighter who stepped in on 5 days notice (and doing it while that man is still unconscious on the canvas makes it even more cringy).
Two things I notice about this guy: 1. He doesn't tire out easily 2. You can see his attacks coming from a mile away, but you can't tell where they'll land
You might can see them from a mile away in slo mo. But definitely not if your standing in front of him. I've never seen so many right hand smack downs where the opponent had no clue what hit him.
It is so weird to watch how he doesn't flinch from incoming fists. All his dodges are calculated & with a live, murderous stare into opponents eyes. Almost as if he never got properly hit in the face & hasn't learned bad instincts.

He’s got an unusual combination of speed, reflexes, athleticism, and accuracy that allow him to get away with a relatively weak defense. He reminds me of the old boxer Prince Naseem who knocked out many of his opponents using the same kind of approach. I’d love to see those two fight in a (fantasy) mixed martial arts match. Normally, a boxer would be at too great a disadvantage for a bout like that but Naseem would make it entertaining.

@TA-hf6si I mean you're not wrong but what is the % of his KO not being in fact KO? @@SlapYourJaw to be fair, I have been doing jiu jitsu for 2 decades, am a black belt myself and have a lot of experience. Sean is just designed perfectly, genetically, to be a fantastic practitioner. So don't lash out at me because YOU can't roll with the average black belt.
that high kick into reverse heel hick is really slick, i never realised he did it so often, its a combination he seems to have practiced very much. And also his right crosse from hands down to secure walk off KOs has shown up more than i remembered! Iconic moves for an iconic fighter.
It's the most dangerous thing he does imo. That's the thing his opponent can not let happen. Make him try and beat you another way. Standing at heel extension away is no man's land.
I used to know a guy that loved to street fight and that was his signature move. Guy was 6-2, and about 230... plenty of Xtra LB's but boy could he move and deliver that kick with accuracy. I saw him smile into a guys eyes and drop him like a sack of potatoes . Never think you can assess an opponent by how in shape they are
Sean has speed, velocity and great timing with what he throws, doesn't really need much power. Seldom goes to the ground, but has great BJJ. Sean has more than earned a title shot. Thanks for the OUTSTANDING vid VS!
People overlook his ability to take damage. That strike from Yan was button and didnt even put his lights out. Even body strikes he handles suprisingly well being so skinny.
He can take a punch. He's not helpless on the ground. It's odd that his opponents don't seem to do much Muy Thai (sp?). Seems like you could attack his legs if you set out to do so. Rules/custom seem to allow him to leave a leg in his opponent's grasp without any consequences.
Skinny doesn't mean weak. It never has. It's easy to think skinny people aren't durable or strong, but you have to remember, muscle density matters, long, thick, it doesn't matter, density is what matters. Some of the strongest people I've ever locked up with were rail thin, wirey, and highly energetic. It makes them tough to deal with. Also, if they get leverage, it will cancel most of the strength advantage you might have on a long skinny guy. They just get good at applying natural physics somehow.
I don't know how this ended up in my feed but ... thank you. That was really well done and as an Irish-American and a kid who grew up thin and bullied for it (until I got to 6'2"), Sean is my hero.
A kick is a strike, genius. He's also not a "smaller guy." He's 5'1", which means in the bantamweight division he's AT LEAST 2" taller than any opponent he faces, but usually 3" taller if not more.
@@Zesmas I disagree with the first part. Speed has a huge amount to do with how hard a punch lands, and speed is generated using muscle. I do agree with throwing a punch properly is most important, but even that is so you can put your muscles to proper use.
Some of the fastest reflexes ever. He moves like a rabbit or a chicken or a squirrel. Darting around like he's weightless. It would be darn near impossible to grab a hold of him and stop him from moving. Aljo was whiffing at air trying to slow him down.
I thought when he grabbed Sean he would toss him to the ground and submit him. Sean has better than average standup defense and escape. Seans best asset is his frame his size. That is why Aldo had to come into his kitchen to engage. Then Sean baits him with feints. Sean only needed one missed feint by Aldo to end it.
this guy's feint must be insane, there are so many KO punches he delivers where it looks like his opponent stood their waiting for it. it's like they literally couldn't read what he was gonna do AT ALL
I was starting to think maybe the opponents just thought the punches wouldn't have power and let em slide through, but after the 12th in a single fight I think he's just unreadable.

Great fighter. Lightning fast with those kicks...and his precision on-target is remarkable. Lad can take a punch, too. Never underestimate the skinny guys. He's poetry in motion. Props to the amusing narration, too. Had me laughin' out loud a few times.
His defense is a little lacking and it improves as time progresses but his offense is great. He appears to be effective with both hands even while throwing crosses with good enough power. He is accurate with his hands too. But he’s crafty and agile and quick.
Not sure about his win over Yan, but his strike rate accuracy, fight iq and humble nature make him an enjoyable entertaining guy to watch. Thanks for sharing, big respect and great video as always.

That's why people shouldn't doubt what Bruce Lee could've done. Being able to pick apart your opponent with crazy kicks and punches everywhere. Conor McGregor used to have it too, until he fought that Mayweather fight, then his style changed to more strictly boxing. Maybe because the quality of Conor's high kicks weren't as proficient. Having a lethal spinning roundhouse is a huge advantage if your opponent doesn't. Not everyone can throw that kick. I fell on my ass trying it one day - the one where it has an extra rotation. One thing I noticed about O’Malley is he has the arm length advantage over most opponents he fights with. Speed is power and O’Malley can sure wind one up and deliver it with power and accuracy. Looks like once he earned some coin he Tattooed himself up to be certain. He’s likely to eventually bulk up naturally via exercise, weight lifted Etc. He is really effective because he mixes punches and kicks up a lot with healthy doses of both. His opponents have a hard a hard time figuring out where the next blow is coming from
He is very accurate and has the confidence to step in because he would be able to absorb shots for a 135 pounder. The fact that he is a naturally bigger opponent for this weight class should not be overlooked. He is the big fish in a small pond. Would be very impressive if his skill carried into the heavier classes.
He's not bigger, just longer. He's like 60% limbs, but he's wire thin opposed to his opponents. Why would he move up? He doesn't struggle with the weight, unlike aljaman sterling who has to kill himself to make weight and said he can't do it anymore.
there was this guy at the gym who was shredded. Huge arms, 8 pack, big ass quads. He had prior bjj training, but his muscles felt mad squishy, and dude had no strength. (I was 21 he was like 27) I just have dense muscles. I've also been ragdolled by a dude with an omalley dude. Muscles are weird
Makes sense. Bulked up dudes are tight, have short range of motion and tire out quickly. I was working with my old boss, a Kenpo Grandmaster and we drove by his neighbors house - that dude was out front, all buffed out. When we asked if he was interested in some MA training, he said "No way. This is all for looks. I'm not strong, I'm soft." Irish and Mex muscle is efficient - good power to weight ratio.
This was Bruce Lee's theory= Speed and Velocity equals power. It's kind of like shooting a gun. The caliber of the weapon isn't the most important thing, it's the accuracy of the shot.

What are you talking about? He showboats multiple times in this video
Two things I notice about this guy:
1. He doesn't tire out easily
2. You can see his attacks coming from a mile away, but you can't tell where they'll land
Sean is faster than you think he is. Uses that frame+size to really put pop on his punches. Never seen Sean gas out.
You might can see them from a mile away in slo mo. But definitely not if your standing in front of him. I've never seen so many right hand smack downs where the opponent had no clue what hit him.
he has probably the cleanest fighting style of any fighter ever, everything he does looks like it from a videogame
mcgregor definately above him but hes second for sure in that aspect
It is so weird to watch how he doesn't flinch from incoming fists. All his dodges are calculated & with a live, murderous stare into opponents eyes.
Almost as if he never got properly hit in the face & hasn't learned bad instincts.
ironically his build actually helps him not just in physiological ways but in psychological ones too. No one expects a skinny dude to pack such a punch so he has that advantage right out the gate. He's constantly going to be underestimated.

Like this guy. His moves often see to have no prep, no reason they wouldn't be detected in advance and countered easily, but he's been reading his opponent, using timing and feints incredibly smoothly, which is arguably the highest form of fighting. That can let even a much slower/older/less powerful man beat his opponent, and sometimes way more easily than would seem to make any sense at all. It's not just raw speed..

It's the most dangerous thing he does imo. That's the thing his opponent can not let happen. Make him try and beat you another way. Standing at heel extension away is no man's land.
