Lia Block's FIRST (PROJECT) CAR! ’80s Audi Ur-Quattro

  • My 15-year-old daughter Lia got her drag racing license before she could even apply for her learner’s permit. Even though she’s cleared to launch the 1,400hp Hoonicorn she can’t drive herself to school! But that's about to change cuz in October Lia will turn 16 and get her driver’s license - so she’s gonna need a STREET-LEGAL daily! She used her earnings from Hoonicorn vs the World to buy this ‘80s Audi Ur-Quattro, but it needs a lot of wrenching before it’ll run again. We dig into all the details and plans alongside our in-house Audi expert Dave Pecoraro (AKA @broken_quattros), and the work begins in a never before seen area of Hoonigan Racing Division: the kids’ toy and workbench area!

Not trying to hate because it's awesome for her and I'm sure for him as well to be able to provide that for her, but to use the term "EARN" is a bit of a stretch on a car that is easily going to be a $100,000 build. Yes he demands the grades as all parents should, especially when they are major league wealthy such as Ken is and their kids have no other stresses in life other than to produce grades. Since the 9th grade,, I had an after school job 5 days a week until I graduated and to be completely honest, it use to piss me off to see other kids who just turned 16 rocking brand new Vettes, IROCs, LX 5.0's, Monte SS's. I was grateful just to have wheels @ that point though because my old man got pinched for smuggling cocaine, sent up the river for 10 years and my whole life got ripped to pieces @ 14. You go from being a multi millionaire with a Lear Jet 35, to welfare in one day. I don't recommend the experience to any kids EVER. Had that not happened I would have been rocking a 928S, Vette or GT Mustang for sure. @ 16, I got a hand me down 8 year old 1979 4 cyl. NO POWER Mustang notchback with oem sunroof from my cousin Cheryl. Cost me like $1,200. I tried to make it cool, tint, TRX GT WHEELS. I’m glad he was able to go through the process of teaching his kid to drive as well as working on her first car. Hello
      Just an FYI
You replied to comment that I made and not really to the Hoonigan community.
Yes Lia is very lucky to have such an excellent father as Ken Block, she got to race driving the Hoonicorn and they have both worked very hard to get to where they are both at.
I’m older and I started working at my dads full service gas station when I was just four years old and I started turning wrenches as a mechanic when I was seven, at nine years old I was a ASCE certified master mechanic in 1977, so I have never understood all of this hatred and jealousy from anyone.
      If you really want something?
You need to work for that.
I’ve always wanted to be a pilot ever since I was a little kid, I’ve only ever managed to get in two hours of flight time in 1984 because kids, marriage and jobs to support them got in the way.
But I still hope to pull that off someday, but it won’t just happen, I’ll still have to make it happen.
Lia and Ken are doing a father daughter bonding thing and I hope all of the best for them and their hole family and wish nothing but the best for them.
You’re never really too young or too old to do the work to make your dreams happen, you just have to do the work.
I’ve been married to the same girl since right after I turned 20 years old in a shotgun wedding 36 years ago and I just retired after having worked for the last 52 years. And I’m having to do all kinds of work at our retirement house but when I get all of that done in the next couple of months I’m going to continue to try to work to achieve my goals and dreams somehow someday.
Any which way don’t give up on your dreams because it is all that will keep you going sometimes.
      Take care and good luck.
