I missed the premier due to work, but like... Thanks to that one clip it is now my official head canon that Stepney is a Timelord.... And also a TARDIS... But that's what you get when sentient machines are brought into the mix!
What I find funny is that not only did the Terrier design serve for 91 years total (which of course is just insane) but also tht technically speaking if you go by the Modeling Era chart the Terriers date back to the tail end of the Pioneering era all the way to Era 5 the Late BR Steam crest. That just goes to show how long these things were in service. Heck they saw Queen Victoria's reign all the way to Queen Elizabeth II. Id like to be able to see them in person someday but for now these videos will suffice.
I've got Hornby's take on 'Rolvenden'. I find it interesting to think - we may not have 'Poplar' to-day if it was not for 'Rolvenden' sacrificing parts, or maybe, if that Southern Railway fitter who worked on 'Bodiam' in his spare time in the 30s, had picked her sister to restore, we may be looking at the 150th birthday of 'Wapping' at a different TfL station.
@@Terrier55Stepney I imagine the chap who rescued her that far-off day in the 30's would be very pleased that the engine he returned to service was still being cared for over 90 years later - and somehow I think Col. Stephens is proud that one of his engines is still in working order (even if she isn't painted his colour!) I would make an assumption as to Stroudley's thoughts, but if I get it wrong he might reach down with his umbrella and clart me on the head!
Thank you, great video, my mum took me all places as a child like the east lancs railway, howarth and more but I haven't been anywhere like that for years but if I catch wind of a heritage train passing through Rainhill (the Rainhill trials) I try to be at Rainhill station or the 77 step bridge when the train passes through
Poplar is number 70 on the LBSC list of terriers, In the Thomas movie "The adventure begins", We see Thomas in his original LBSC livery, and he has a number 70 on his bunker. Coincidence? I think NOT!!!
Something seriously needs to be done about this. There are about 5 terriers (+ Gladstone) currently in Improved Engine Green. Sadly there are none in Marsh Umber, or any other interesting liveries. For example, Freshwater is in southern green but once wore LSWR Mint and Chocolate, which is a far less common livery.
When I found out she was set to return in IEG, I soon spread the news to the other young volunteers, who were horrified to learn the long-awaited engine they'd heard so much about was going to be 'brown'. Needless to say, I agreed with their hopes for it to gain a new colour soon, if only for my own selfish hopes of seeing the return of K&ESR Green!
MORE TERRIERS PLEASE
Brilliant little locos! I bet even Stroudley didn't dream they'd reach 150 years.. Can't wait for the Fenchurch story, she's my personal favourite.
I loved your jokes about the LBSCR names 🤣
Crazy how both Thomas and Polar were numbered 70, from the same railway, and were blue at some point.
I bet ya when Thomas the adventure begin awdry was getting mad over the lore

Happy 150th Birthday to all Terriers Everywhere!
Beautiful little engine thought it was Stepney for a moment 😃😃
well done Max, another great story about a Terrier. cheers :)
The way you anthropomorphise engines is so endearing.

Surreal to think, and wonder what they'd make of how it's lived on.

This is why my favorite engine class are the terriers .
Great video! Very interesting!
i love this this channel and how much you care for stepney you earned a sub
Thank you! Enjoy your stay.
Great video, Max!
nice, i saw poplar at the blue bell railway on holiday
“Then it was drawn and worn out… also like me” yeah man same
1:47 Rusty to the rescue, but Stepney didn't like bluebells.
When will part 3 of fenchruch come out
Maybe when next anniversary
A brilliant video and very fascinating to hear about terriers that existed before Stepney. :)
I hope I can visit

Boxhill and poplar my faverout terriers
Stepney and boxhill are mine
Fenchurch and rolvendon are my favourite
3:09 So true lmao. Another great video!
"Bluebells FOREVER"
First!!!!! This'll be epic
and it was!
Poplar’s story is probably the most interesting out of the terriers.
True, alongside Stepney and Boxhill.
I might also mention Thames as it went missing and apparently set a speed record.
VIDEO IDEA: What if the isle of Sodor was Real?
(humming “Move Over Darling” while watching this video)
You should upload these onto sound cloud as an audio book or something like that

What if Thomas was a terrier
Thomas wouldn’t dislike Stepney as much if he was a Terrier
3:12 Took me a minute, ngl 🤣
While watching this i am eating chicken pie
So many terrier’s now in improved engine green soon max you wouldn’t tell the difference between Stepney or Fenchurch
Oh they would because Fenchurch is in his prior rebuild state.
@@JosephRailwayStudios2000yeah they both have different states I was trying to make a joke

do a guide rail on fenchurch
She looks great, but please say they’re taking her back to her Bodiam blue livery. It really does make her stand out as different from the rest.
Yes
BLUEBELLS FOREVER
fantastic video mate and mind if i ask if i use a link to this video in my terrier 150th video?
Thank you! Of course not, go right ahead. Thanks for asking.
It’s me

Wait is the Chameleon Circuit working again?
0:50 where is this
It looks like the three road set from Thomas but real
Berwyn Station, Llangollen Railway. One of the prettiest stations I know.
I own a model of bodaim so technically I own a model of Poplar
We like trains

Marsh Umber is the best LBSC livery.
