    I just got back from Disney World yesterday and I had one very special magical moment. On Tuesday we went to Epcot and I met Joy and Sadness. When I walked in I told them that Inside Out was my favorite movie and joy started to jump around and sadness held my hand. Sadness kept holding my hand until the character attendant said that I had to go. Then sadness walked out of the meet and greet with me! I thought it was so sweet and I wish I could have spent the rest of the day with her!!

    I try and make magic moments for the cast when we visit. While planning my trips (I'm a crafty person) I hand make a ton of thank you cards,birthday cards,and congratulations cards. The ones I give them to...they love it. I even had one say it was the highlight of his day. Small things make people smile. I'll do the same for a kid I see with a birthday button. Its why I make the birthday cards.

    One time, it was for my 14th birthday trip at HollyWood studios, we went to some type of resturant, this one CM gave me a BUNCH of stickers, and then asked me, "Do you like BB-8?" Me, being a HUGE StarWars geek, I replied, "Yes, sir." He asked me if I like Kylo Ren, I had a "I ❤ Kylo" button on, I aslo replied, "Yes." He said that he'll be right back, and comes back with a BB-8 cup, and a Kylo Ren cupcake! It was awesome!

    There was a cast member waiting on main street high fiving people and putting stickers on their hands. Just a little prank to brighten my day.

    One of my most favorite magical moments was last summer. I participated in the “Dance the World” parade and my red heels were a size too big and they wouldn’t let me switch them out. We did the parade from the fire station to adventure land and ended up having a humongous blister on the bottom of my foot from my feet slipping around in my heels. I could barely walk the next morning so I slept in and ended up meeting my parents in Animal Kingdom. I hobbled through Asia to Africa to watch festival of the lion king but it was so hard to walk that we were too late and they cut off the line. Well a cast member came over to us and gave us front row seats for the show (which was amazing because Lion king is my favorite Disney movie) and my dad got to do the elephant. As a dancer, this moment made me realize how badly I wanted to dance or even work as a cast member because of the magic and being so close to the performers.

    Cast members are absolute rock stars! My kids first trip to Disneyland, we were waiting for Fantasmic to start so I bought them a few pretzels. In the process of handing it to them, they accidently dropped them. Our budget was tight, so they were kind of out of luck. Out of nowhere a cast member appeared with new pretzels. I wish I remembered her name, but she was a sweet heart! It 100% made their night. Cast members are wonderful and always make our trips special!

    Last year at Disney world I was meeting Jasmin at Epcot myself (I was 18 at the time) and I told her she was my favourite princess so she created a magical moment and let me rub the genie lamp which completely made my day!

    One of my magical memory happen when I was 10 years. It was my Dad, Mom and myself. It was the end of the day around 7 PM. We were heading out of Magic Kingdom in Orlando. I saw Pluto and a photographer. I asked my parents if I could get a picture. They said a tired No. I tried a few times with no luck. As we got closer, Pluto and the photographer said yeah, would you like a quick picture before you leave. My parents said yes. Yeah for me. I smiled for the picture. After that, I said Bye, Pluto and Thanks. I was wearing a pink shirt with tan shorts with a ponytail with a pink ribbon in my hair. I’m 39 years old. My Mom still has the picture.

    I've had the pleasure of Photopass capturing photos of Nick Wilde hugging me during the Move It Shake It parade back in August 2017! I was wearing fox ears, and had plushies of Nick & Judy too, and I didn't know PP was there until a CM came up to me (after Nick hugged me and him pointing out my plushies) and told me to scan my MagicBand.

    I have been so lucky to have had extra magic sprinkled on just about every Disney Trip. Actually 1 was a week ago at Magic Kingdom at Casey's corner we were so busy trying to get every thing in that we realized we hadn't ate since breakfast. It was after the fire works almost Park closing time and decided we would eat at Casey's corner we were starving. As we get to the door they are closing it and locking it. I mouthed are u closed to the lady and she said yes so we started to walk away she opened the door and asked if we just wanted a hot dog and motioned me back and let me in. She ordered hot dogs and a bunch of other things for us and drinks and said no charge. We were sooo thankful I cant even tell you. Another time we went into guest relations to ask a Question and the cast member asked if there was something we would like to do that we didn't have a reservation for or fast pass for. He even offered to give us a reservation for the new at that time Be our quest restaurant. He also gave us a fast pass to see talking Mickey which ended up being the high light of our trip and something we hadn't planned on doing. Another time we pulled up on the magical express and a group of cast members were waiting out front for us and told us we were family of the day. Wow They had upgraded our room gave us unlimited fast passes also got to our room and it had all kinds of stuff for us. It also included a free trip for the little girl with us to the biddy bop salon with everything included. There was to many things to list. It was Truly a magical trip.!!!

    Long time ago I was in Disney for the first time on my own, it was during the "Year of a million dreams," ended up having two magical moments from cast members, I know i got a card with a fastpass for each of the big rides in MK(Its ironic since it was early December, and there were no lines at all, so went unused except for space mountain) when i had gotten in line for the Teacups..and i THINK the second time was on the line for big thunder where I got a lanyard with a couple pins on it...I remember that trip so well. Ended up giving the lanyard to my mother when I got home, think she'll be wearing it when we go to Disney again this winter..

    My magical moment was in a store at DW with my bf. I wanted to get some earrings for a fancy dinner at the California Grill with my boyfriend. I had three cast members help me find the perfect pair. While we were looking a small purse caught my eye. I loved it, but it was a bit out my price range. I told my boyfriend to help me remember where it was so if we had some leftover money at the end of the trip I would comeback to get it. As I was being rung up for the earrings one of the cast members wrapped up the purse and added it to the shopping bag. They insisted I take it and have a wonderful evening. I was so shocked. It wasn't a pin or something small. I had a smile on my face so big it actually hurt my cheeks. I was even in tears a little when I thanked them. I thought the day couldn't get any better after that....
    And then at dinner my boyfriend proposed to me. :)

    Quick Magical Moment story. Last trip we were on a really tight budget and my 4 yr old son wanted the Mickey light up balloon. He had it for about 10 minutes before it got popped in all the sidewalk traffic. I didn't have it in the budget to replace it. I had to tell him it was gone. I different balloon vendor heard me and handed my son a new one. As father I am sure you know how much that meant to me.

    I've had so many cast members make some incredibly magic moments - one PhotoPass CM (whose named I sadly can't remember after a couple of years) gifted my mum and I a free print, which we redeemed a couple of days later and he was on the cash desk! He went backstage and asked Mickey to sign it for us

    My most recent trip, I was in line of the Haunted Mansion, after the stretching room, this boy, who was maybe 9, was really freaked out. He was crying he was scared and his parents ‘ attempt to calm him where not working. He was fine after the ride and wanted to go again. But I felt so bad. I think a cast member said something to him because he got on the ride.

    The last time I visited Disneyland was for my 26th birthday, and a very chatty and friendly cast member named Stan Dale saw the birthday pin and we ended up talking for a good 20 minutes and he told me about the history of the carousel and Fantasyland itself. Since I had a birthday button on he asked which attraction I was going to next. I said Peter Pan’s flight, I impressed him with my knowledge of the peter pan story, so he said, “How would you like VIP access onto Peter Pan?” I nodded and he took my mom and I over to the ride and says to the cast members waiting at the handicap entrance (aka the exit) “its this young lady’s birthday, she loves this ride, it’s her favorite, please see to it that she gets on a ship for Neverland.” I lost my voice thanking him!

    When I was about 5 I was in Disney World, sat in my buggy within a circle of kids my age. Cinderella pulls up in her carriage with the prince, the two dance for a while and then she comes over and takes me up to dance with her. TBH I dont remember it that much but I have the photos, including one of me in my buggy just staring open mouthed at the dance. I wonder was that an on the spot moment where Cinderella saw me in the crowd. Either way it's a great story to tell. I'd love to go back now that I'm an adult, I've been to DLP which I really enjoyed, but theres nothing like the parks in the US

    Sir Willow.. I have a story and a question. Not too long ago my family and I were at Disney World. We had our 2+ year old twins with us. One was having a great time, but his brother was not the happiest camper. We found out later that he was teething one of his back molars. Anyway, we stopped by this one picture spot where we saw two wonderful characters greeting guests. We decided that we would take the time to see these two characters that the twins would recognize. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes and then going in to get the picture taken. The characters greeted us but really didn't spend a lot of time talking because the boys were only as responsive as shy two year olds get. When it came time to take the picture... I let my daughter (the twins mom) and her husband get in the shot with their boys without grandma. Well the teething boy had his thumb in his mouth for the two or three quick shots that the photographer took. I asked her to stop for just a moment and ran in to pull his thumb out of his mouth and hopefully she could take a quick picture. She turned to me, and in a little bit of a snippy tone said that "it wouldn't work, it never works,
    she's a photographer and she knows, that's the best that's going to happen." That was it. We were to move along. And I just was left with feeling that... Hey maybe you're tired and maybe you need a break. But we just waited 45 minutes for a picture what would be the harm of you just taking one extra shot and pacifying a family who was loving the characters but exasperated with one child who wasn't the happiest.
    After we had left that photo location, we started talking about that photographer. We realize that she was the same photographer who had taken a picture of us with a different character to different location that same day and head seem cranky at that time as well. We didn't make a big deal or file a complaint (goodness I can't remember the last time in my life that I went up and complained about something) but I did leave us with a bit of a bad taste in our mouths.
    My question is... As a guest, what can you do to cheer up the cranky or tired cast member who isn't in the mindset to be in the happiest place in the world. I am not asking for a magical moments to be done, but is there anything that we could have done or said to at least make this photographer smile?

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  6 років тому

      I'm sorry you had an experience like that. Unfortunately there will always be some that aren't the best. It does sound like they weren't in the best mood and in need of a few days off or a change in scenery/ jobs. I don't know that there is much you could do, but they should have tried harder for you.

  • @thepastcomesalive2082

    I have an interesting question, what happens if a cast member is rude to a guest? What happens if it’s the opposite layer round, because I heard that some cast members can be rude I think it’s rare but it happens, I didn’t have anybody rude to me like that when I went to Disney World they were very friendly just like you would expect. So I am wondering if it ever does happen one of these days what should we do about that?

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  3 роки тому

      they are not supposed to be rude to guests (unless it's one of the villain characters, then there is some leeway within character). What happens depends on circumstances, how serious, and guest reaction. It can range from a verbal warning up to termination.

    • @thepastcomesalive2082

      @@SirWillow oh I see, so I guess if a cast member is rude then the manager will take care of it.
