Anyhow, almost everyone speaks English, so you can get by rather easily, like I do, as I come from somewhere in the Mediterranean, and my skill in German is very limited 😉
Thanks, Casper. As for the weather, after two years in a row of having a heat-wave on the same dates (due to this accursed global-warming), I start to believe in the old Arabic philosophy, that if something happens once, chances are it will not happen again, but if it happened twice, you can be sure it will happen again and again :-/ Honestly, I prefer Epic Empires a lot more than Drachenfest (for many reasons), but if we are talking of the terribly hot climate, at EE you can still play in the woods, where it's cooler, as opposed to DF, where all the game takes place under the sun and the game-managers banned the option of playing in the woods.

It's really exciting to actually *hear* some Black Speech! I've been teaching myself the language (LOS's dialect), but I've found precious few spoken examples of it to help train my ear as well as my eye. The real fun has been trying to pick it out from the German in your other videos since I only half-know that language, but everyone speaking mostly English here made things much, much easier. Since there's no translation for "cheers" in the dictionary, I might add what you guys invented to my vocabulary, but I'm having some trouble making out the phrase. The toast at 12:25 sounded something like "Dafrum [then something... dâl __-ûr, maybe?]" and answered by "Matat Shakhbûrz-ûr" (I think). Can you get me closer to the mark? Guttural growling can make even my native English hard to understand sometimes, but at least I had no trouble making out the important words elsewhere like "pushdug" :) And many thanks for sharing the fun through these videos for those of us who are too far away and/or too shy for serious improv to join in ourselves. It looks awesome!

Many thanks for the clarification. Though I misheard the word, seeing that you chose "matal" instead of "matûrz" for "dead" in this phrase shows me that you magnificent orcs really know your grammar! If I wanted to translate the phrase into my chosen dialect, I think it'd end up as "dafrum mau-zûru matal gothbûrz-ûr". I'll add your dictionary to my collection. Rukh Nûlûrz and LOS seem to share far more than any other two dialects, and I think many of the things RN does differently are quite sensible, so it wouldn't be bad to learn. Besides, it might help knock some German back into my brain. If we're trading sources, I've been using the dictionary and lessons at The Black Speech School (blackspeech.ru). That seems to be where the LOS dialect's resources ended up and where it continues to evolve now that its original home is down.
What do you mean by PV or by life-ribbon? In German LARPs you are responsible to know how many hit-points your character has (based on your class, armor, etc.), and to know when you reach 0 hit-points when you are hit. It is all about trust, and respect for the other players. Sometimes, for example, when I get hit on the face with an Arrow / other weapon, I would fall dead (or incapacitated) - even though I technically still have some hit-points left, as we try to keep it as realistic as possible; just like in real-life, when you are hit on the head, you usually fall to the ground.
Man, I’d love to do something like this. But I’m based in Australia (I don’t believe there are any near me) and I’m still working on my Uruk costume... Also, just subscribed and love the videos!
Thanks, dear. There is a clan-orc LARP-group which is based in Brisbane, Australia. You may contact Aurelius Armory on Instagram for more details. However neither she, nor any of her group members have ever joined our games in Germany, for obvious reasons of distance, etc. I'm not German, and I have to fly about 3,000 Km. each time, for participating in orc-LARPs with the Orklager community in Germany, but it is considered a short-distance-flight (compared to arriving from Australia). So I understand the frustration (if there is any). I do hope that one day we will get to meet you all in our orc-LARP events. So don't give up, and in the meantime, keep on investing in your orc-LARP scene in Australia; after all, every LARP scene should have an orc-LARP group / community, as orcs usually add an extra, important, value to any game.
