When 2014 Robocop's Murphy takes off his helmet, he looks like a man wearing body armor, and not a machine. Whereas the makeup effects in the original Robocop actually looked like they cut off Peter Weller's face and attached it to a robot body.
No, it's his face, not the front of his head. Look at it, look at the shot of those enormous screws coming out of his head before he removes the helmet.
@@hhds113 true, but Weller disappeared for a long time. He became a history professor, and appeared in History Channel documentaries about ancient civilizations.
It never occurred to me how much work Peter Weller put into that! He was incredible. I loved trying to copy the movements and voice he created. All those hours absolutely paid off!
man!, that "walkin' down the steps in the club" scene description made me realize how much of an effort/commitment Peter weller put into this..!, so as the team behind it for paying attention to every datail : and to think it was only 3 seconds of the movie...WOW!. I ' ll never see that scene the same again. To this day this still a masterpice... timeless!
wow.. so much I didn't know or didn't care to appreciate when i was younger... NOW i totally get it! best movie, best acting, action, direction... man, I can't believe this was from the 80's! how times, Talent, Skill, and film making have changed... and not for the better..
You don’t really think about it at the time but looking at this he put so much work in to making the character. Great movie and Clarence is the best movie villain of all time
Now I’m not saying Weller isn’t perfect for this role, he is!! He is absolutely perfect and I’d never in a million years change him as the actor!! He nails it and brings what I’m sure no one else could have to the part!! I think the success of Robocop is almost solely down to Wellers performance! However, I’d be curious to see what Christian Bale could do with this role, I mean, he’s known for his big transformations, so, imagine he was as muscled up as he was in Batman for the Alex Murphy scenes and then slimmed down like he was in the Machinest for the Robocop scenes so the suit would look sleek and ‘movable’, he also had great dept as an actor so, just a curious thought... Weller forever! But if he says no to the reboot, I think I’d like to see Bale in... What about you guys? Besides Weller, who would you like to see in this role?
It's hard to say. I don't see any real machines in Hollywood anymore. Perhaps the guy who plays Loki in the Marvel universe? IDK really, I can't see any other Murphy than Weller.
Hell yeah! :D Verhoeven and the whole team did a great job - Peter Weller's Robo is still freaking amazing!!)) By the way, it was soooo gooood to meet Peter again in StarTrek: into Darkness ;p
that im aware only peter and jim carey went to do so painful long endurance make up works for theyre movies. both deserve respect just for that, not many famous rich actors would go throw that.
funny how skill, creative thinking and hard work makes a movie from the 80s better than most today, even the remake decades later... thats sad actually. carrie from the 70s is also better than most movies today specially the remakes also
Yeah, :D btw this was the first scene where the robocop appears first. Epic entry...:D Everyone quietly listening and watching him and his footsteps. (Dzum, Dzum, Dzum...) I got goosebumps from it :3 :D
Robocop is epic. :) crazy good movie, still holds up pretty well. Practical effects for the most part. Okay 3 was not great. Remake. Oh brother, what nonsense was that!? :D

yeah it really does i always wondered how they did that

That's why the remake sucked. They should never have remade a classic.
Peter Weller, what a great actor. Wish he was in more movies.
Smart guy but he drinks.
Well he was in Leviathan and Star Trek Into Darkness. But Yeah he should of been in more movies.
@@hhds113 he was in Dexter, season 5
@@srujan00 But we were talking about movies not shows.
@@hhds113 true, but Weller disappeared for a long time. He became a history professor, and appeared in History Channel documentaries about ancient civilizations.
Peter Weller is and always will be the one true Robocop!!!!

BEST MOVIE EVER!!!
Second point - Weller should have got best actor for that role. Seriously.

Sublime casting. All of them were great but they really hit a homerun with Petter Weller.
Perfect cast for the most well made film
I love you Peter Weller. You are the best actor I have ever loved. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great movie, just love it....
Peter Weller is the best actor to play as robocop
There's RoboCop vs. The Terminator, but unfortunately, there's no way anyone can do that justice. The story was great in the comics.
I'll buy that for a dollar!!
love this movie a classic
One of the best movies they ever created.....after Terminator 1984 of course
Anyone else gobsmacked by Kurtwood Smith? He seems like the nicest man you could meet and yet he played Clarence Bodicker.
Peter Weller voice as robocop very strong and soft really soft

And I believe he played in Leviathan 2 years after he filmed the first robocop.
Peter was excellent in this

Modern actors and directors mostly don't work in such extremely "on the edge" manner - CGI killed all the skills...
The same reaction to the movie. For 25 years!
Kurtwood Smith goes down I’m my Books as Thee Best Villian Of All TIME ! as Clarence Boddicker
Weller broke the mold.
7:55 it's definetly him!
Peter had to wear football gear ⛑️🏈beasuce of his training for the suit
Kurtwood Smith is like Michael Ironside from Total Recall as a villain
In 1987!! What if THIS version was released in 2014!??!

"I've done some movies that I'm proud of parts of" and they show Robocop 2 poster :D Fitting!
Hellvomit
Robocop 2 is my favorite. Part 3 sucked. Part 1 is great but I love part 2.
Because part 3 Peter didn’t come back and it was pg-13 only Nancy Allen came back but I was sad that they killed her
I bet he can do a mean robot dance.
0:00 - 0:11 the most badass scene in the movie!!!
ピーターウェラーの笑顔が眩しすぎる(*≧∀≦*)あんな殺され方せんでも(/ _ ; )

Freddy & Jason, Predator & Alien - unfortunately, cross-overs is a "bad idea" (((
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaah!!!!!
