oh yeah. first time i saw that movie i was 8. imagine letting an 8 year old watch that movie now. parents would be outraged. anyway, clarence scared the shit out of me. the baddest mofo ever.
My biggest takeaway is that not only did Kurtwood know the name of the actor who played the cop opposite to him in the scene some 30 years ago, he kept in touch enough to know that he passed away recently
@@Horus175playing the bad guy is easier then the good guys usually. You just over exaggerate every thing. It’s almost like there is no rules to what you can do expecially in robocop where the city of Detroit is basically over ridden with bad people.
You will know your co stars especially on big productions like this. They will do a lot of screen testing, table reads and behind the scenes work together expecially between takes. You’re just sitting around waiting for your scene. Sometimes, actors will visit onset just to watch other actors.
Bad guys are winning during 90% of the film, then lose the last battle, while good guys get beaten for most of the movie to win at the end, so I guess you have a happier time doing a bad guy in a movie.
One of those character actors that has more talent in one of his fingernails than many big stars will ever have in a hundred lifetimes. He gave us a villain who could have been a respectable schoolteacher, and infused him with the ultimate unsettling brutality.
@@zsigzsag I felt Clarence was the biggest badass in the movie, but as far as evil he and Dick Jones were equal imo since he was the puppet master afterall.
@@MKF30 Ronny Cox, who played "Dick Jones" is highly underrated. Great actor, been in movies and TV for decades! Still going strong at 84 and now tours with his band internationally, he's a singer and song writer as well as a musician. He deserves a Lifetime Achievement award.
In my mind Clarence Boddicker survived and decided to settle down as Red Foreman and start a family. Lmao 🤣 In all seriousness, he's a brilliant actor and a great guy. Best movie villain ever 🤘. I highly recommend the movie he was in called Hard Scrambled. It's extremely hard to find and there's almost no dvd copies for sale but I was lucky to find it on an obscure Vietnamese streaming site and I downloaded a video grabber so I could permanently have the movie to watch.
One of THE greatest movie villains of all time.
Totally agreed

B*tches leave will always be a classic line from this film 😂
look at my face, dick
From Clarence Boddicker to Red Forman... Stone Cold killer to Comic legend, definitely an awesome talent...
and the President of the Federation
I love it when actors help invent their roles. Him and Paul worked well together.
Interviewer: "Everybody give a Big round of applause for Kurtwood Smith!" 👏🏼
Kurtwood:
"BITCHES LEAVE"..
He played the villain in Robocop as well as he did the comedy of Red Foreman. Incredible actor.

Every time I read about how actors are in real life, I invariably find that the ones who play the nastiest villains are the nicest people in person.

omg thanks for posting this gem! Kurtwood was PERFECT in rocobop!
"Okay, bitches leave."
He sounds like a lot of people have asked him to say that lol
If I could ask Kurtwood Smith a question, I would ask what he thought of the character Clarence Boddicker? He seems so down to earth as a person
The first thing I know about it is that Clarence Boddicker is one of the awesomest names ever invented for a villain.
Far as I'm concerned he was the best actor in the film. Came across as pure evil! Should have won an award.

CAN YOU FLY BOBBY???
He was nasty and vile as Clarence. I couldn't imagine a better actor to play him. Kurtwood nailed that role.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Love hearing from the rest of the cast.
He and Ronny Cox, one of the best villains.
Kurtwood Smith has to be one of my favorite character actors. He’s great in pretty much all I’ve seen him in. Underrated!
He and John Lithgow are pure golf.
Underrated how?
@chemicalspore Well no one really talks about him.
@@grahamhill676 yeah. He is never timeless in Robocop
@chemicalspore Yeah but he's not known for anything else is what really. No one talks about him other than in this movie, occasionally.
Great movie. I watched it 2 times in a row the day it was released. Clarence Boddicker is my fav movie villain of all time.
Happy Birthday, Kurtwood Smith! :)
Come on sal the tigers are playing to night
I loved the sound effect when Clarence drummed Sal's table upon saying that.

His acting was amazing.
Like the World Class Wrecking Cru music in the beginning
He played super Cool in Robocop!!! Great job!
"Just give me my fuckin' phone call."
So I guess when Sgt Reed says "shit" in the background, that was actually a genuine reaction that wasn't in the script. Classic.
Yeah, just like Kurtwood Smith himself improvised the blood spit on Reed's desk.
This actor was amazing in the movie!
clarence boddicker is like the joker 😁 a badass badguy
You know! THAT’S someone who could’ve played a perfect Joker.
Great video...👍
Fantastic actor
Kurtwoods best role!
i love when hi says bitches leave
He auditioned for Dick Jones, DICK JONES!!
"his real name is Clarence"
Can you fly bobby...
BTW, was Bobby one of his CRONIES or was he a security guard for that armored vehicle?
I Know Dick Joneesssssss ! lol
It was tailor made for him 😊
Wassup Wassup Boddicker 😂😂😂

Maybe Flashpoint wasn't successful but Kurtwood Smith's character is great.
Definitely one of the better movies about the Kennedy assassination.

😳
🤓
He would have been great as dick Jones but was inspired as Boddiker
Why wasn't Kurtwood cast as the voice of the New Grinch.....
I work for Dick Jones
Ladies, please vacate the premises
Will we see you again, Bobby?
That line wouldn't work back in the '80s... 😝
