Hey, I appreciate your video. I have a 2020 Acura TLX and last summer it was doing this exact thing. I would disconnect the battery and wait a couple minutes and then I would connect it and then it would go away. And then once got out and fall and winter had no problems. today as I speak to you, all the lights came on and lit up like a Christmas tree and it has not happened at all since last summer. Do you still think it’s the battery because I think the heat has something to do with anybody’s advice would be appreciative thank you.
That's a good perspective because the MDX has a battery cooling mechanism. I would check the date of the battery to see how old it is, you should get at least 3-4 years out the battery. Anything else can lead to unforeseen issues although I have seen batteries live longer but they may experience issues with temperatures. Often, a old battery has issues maintaining full power during the winter if not used often. I would assume that an old battery may also have issues keeping cool during summer depending on the temperature.
This just happened to me! Terrible corrision on the positive terminal. Cleaned it somewhat but I think the battery might be shot. The AC compressor cycles every half second so I am thinking the battery wasn't being charged by the ALT.
Lack of power can cause all sorts of interment issues. I would defiantly replace that battery is it's more then 3-4 years. Now a days they don't make parts like they use to, so even a new battery can be defective next month.
The 2017 RDX I traded a Sportage for has this problem, new battery because the one in it was a under rated battery, new EVS sensor, had Acura clear the codes, it went maybe 7 months and is doing it again. Disconnect the battery and reconnect, lights are off, for a while. I will try cleaning both fusible links next.

Good afternoon. I have a Acura MDX 08. I'm in a hard position. No help just me and my 6yr old son. Can u help guide me to fix myself please? It would be a blessing. I have all lights on all in a matter of 15 minutes even the check transmission and check engine, VSA, ABS, ADS. My question is my power steering has a big leak. Could this cause the Christmas lights going on?
This happened to me, was freaking out while driving, took it to auto zone to change out the battery, battery was still good didnt need to. Just unplugged battery and waited 5 minutes and then plugged back in. All lights went away
I have this issue now. However, i just picked my car up after habing an accident where the passenger front tire came off while i was driving. Damaged the body of my car aroind the wheel well. The wheel is fuxed, but now the lights are on. Could the repair or accident have triggered this?
@myhearts419 The wheel being damaged triggered the other sensors. Once the system was reset & cleared, the lights went off. However, I also ended up replacing the battery too about a month later.
Sadly, the 2017 rdx I got does this, new battery, EVS sensor, cleaned ground cable connecton at frame. Went months, did it again, disconnected battery for 1 minute, codes gone til next time. So its sti an ongoing issue. So I'll try reseating fuses.
@@albertohernandes4516 Interesting perspective because alignment will never display dashboard lights and alignment issues will never shut a vehicle off. Interesting 👀, I do question whom told you this information. Now let’s say you do have alignment issues, then you will physically experience issues with the movement of your vehicle and “free play” in the steering wheel. This will also lead to poor tire thread lifecycle. When it comes to the steering system and dashboard lights, it’s often that you will see an ABS light on if you have any issues with wheel sensors on this vehicle. I’ve also seen this issue associated with either the CAM or Crankshaft sensors failing. Appreciate your input on this, very useful info 🤟🏾

@@polancoloammi6938 this seems to be a common problem with the mdx and pilot. I saw this fix in a pilot forum. But I’m having more issues then just the lights being lit. I have to press the button twice to shut the engine off, keyless light is flashing even though everything is shut off, steering wheel is moving in and out when I open the door and the accessory chime is ringing when everything is off when I open the door as well. Also sh-awd isn’t working.
@@megamanfun Yes sir that is correct, both. However if this does not resolve your issue then I would check the fuse. Finally I would connect a OBD2 scan tool to see if your getting a P0369 code which would indicate that the camshaft position sensor has failed and needs to be replaced. Which that means you will need to also have your timing belt replace since the sensor is behind the timing belt.
Similar issue with my 2017 odyssey whenever I would plug my phone in to the car two days later I’ll get the check vsa system, check ldw system and the check fcw system Check parking sensor system
I wish you the best. For anyone else that is not able to fix their problem with this video. If you checked your fuses, grounds, cleaned the terminals and the battery is not that old. Then I would suggest getting a scan tool to check your computer engine for codes. You might have a code pointing to your camshaft position sensor. This type of job will require replacement of your timing belt. - I say will require because any given time you remove your timing belt for a repair job, it's best to replace the belt with a new timing belt. Hope you are able to get your MDX fix soon.

No mine is still on too after replacing the battery $250 later and it’s still there but it’s still cheaper than the camera the dealership said I needed! Here nor there I e been driving with the lights on for over a year it doesn’t affect the car 🤷🏽♀️
Hi Boss are you saying if I pull off that air intake plastic tube off of my 2007 all my lights are on for the brake system I will check the fuse first thanks any help is appreciated
The loose ground wire to shut the brake lights off on Acura DMX I have a brand new battery. Only two months old haven’t checked the fuses yet though
Acura TLX 2015 all lights on! It was the battery👍🏾
GOOD deal!
Going bak on if there a problem after u drive it around
Hello friend, could you tell me the name of the piece as I look for it on the internet?
Thanks, just what I needed
Welcomed.
2019 MDX here getting check engine and 3 warnings: Emissions System Problem, Electric Parking Brake Problem, and All Wheel Drive System Problem
Just had minor body work done on front right bumper and fender. Could that work have shorted something? Vehicle seems to be running just fine.
Shawn, Did you ever find out what was going on with your MDX? I too am running into the same problems. I'm really hoping it's not going to be an expensive fix.
@@alixandreagaumer8346 I don’t have the receipt right in front of me and the vehicles actually in the shop for something else now so I can’t grab it out of the glove box but it ended up costing around $400 and the service writer said that it was typically not some thing that would have to be fixed at the mileage of my vehicle which is around 60,000.
I wish I remembered exactly what the issue was but I do remember the pricing was somewhere in the $400 range
But of course it could be something else that you’re experiencing entirely right? All these computers make things so nice and so difficult.
@@shawnblog my car too is at around 60k miles. 😭 That super sucks. I guess I will be taking it in. Thank you for the reply!! I really appreciate it!!
@@alixandreagaumer8346 I just remembered it was my “purge control valve” and may have actually been from topping off the gas on filling up (don’t do that).
@@alixandreagaumer8346 hi Alixandrea did get your problem fixed? And if so what was wrong with the car? Also if you don't mind how much was the expense? I'm experiencing the same thing on a 2017 Acura MDX. I love hondas. I had a 1997, and 2008 accord and they were so simple. Computers just makes our lives into nightmares....
I have the exact same problem mine is. 2018 what battery seems fine 2 years old any other ideas?
I hope this is the issue
I have a 2017 MDX this just happened yesterday changed battery today still have all lights all terminals good and alternator tested good any other suggestions before I head to the dealership?
I just found that my case was a #21 7.5 amp fuse blown that powers the battery fan so new battery fan and new fuse

Does this works for a 2011 Acura RL ?
@@VinsonDoan Good to hear, I would be sure to inspect the battery contacts for any derby or corrosion.
One note. disconnecting the battery cable may have "reset" the computer. This may actually have been the remedy.
Yep that was it thanks👍🏾✌🏾
I have this issue now. However, i just picked my car up after habing an accident where the passenger front tire came off while i was driving. Damaged the body of my car aroind the wheel well. The wheel is fuxed, but now the lights are on. Could the repair or accident have triggered this?
@@Ladycece41168 Hi, what was your solution please?
@myhearts419 The wheel being damaged triggered the other sensors. Once the system was reset & cleared, the lights went off. However, I also ended up replacing the battery too about a month later.
Sadly, the 2017 rdx I got does this, new battery, EVS sensor, cleaned ground cable connecton at frame. Went months, did it again, disconnected battery for 1 minute, codes gone til next time. So its sti an ongoing issue. So I'll try reseating fuses.
It's an alignment problem just do an alignment, balance and rotation, the purpose of all those lights coming on is to warn you the alignment is off
@@albertohernandes4516 Interesting perspective because alignment will never display dashboard lights and alignment issues will never shut a vehicle off.
I have a 2005 Acura RL that has started going haywire. Dials start freaking out and while sitting idle a a stop light the car may shut off. It will restart but my wife refuses to drive it. HELP
Did find the problem?
I have a 2017 mdx and that only happen when my battery was tame for me to replace it 5 years with the same battery lol finally when I replaced everything was fine.
LOL got to love when it's a simple fix.
@@AWordFromMrJones hey Replying back it was not the battery was the computer wireless key receiver was damage.
Hey, I was just told the same thing. Was your dashboard lighting up and clicking and unable to start your car?
@@polancoloammi6938 this seems to be a common problem with the mdx and pilot. I saw this fix in a pilot forum. But I’m having more issues then just the lights being lit. I have to press the button twice to shut the engine off, keyless light is flashing even though everything is shut off, steering wheel is moving in and out when I open the door and the accessory chime is ringing when everything is off when I open the door as well. Also sh-awd isn’t working.
@@Allthingsworktogether1125 that is what has me confused. That’s about the only thing my car isn’t doing.
I had a similar issue when replaced flat tire car was wigged out with error lights. Just get a code reader and clear
Thanks. Question. What resolved the issue, replacing the fuse or the cleaning of the batteries terminal?
Jose, for this particular issue, cleaning the battery terminals fixed this issue. If it comes back, I will post a video update.
Both terminals? Thank you!!
@@AWordFromMrJones Thank you sir. I’m taking the car to the dealer. I will report back with the results and solution. Thanks again.

@@Ekfourtony Try testing the battery, clean the terminals/post, recharge if possible and try again.
@Ekfourtony you were able to fix it?
I have 2016 take to me mechanic and he said it’s cámara in front glass
i have replaced a front windshield. i guess camera calibration changed or something. idk what to do
Didn’t work for me going to have to make that trip to the dealership
I wish you the best.
For anyone else that is not able to fix their problem with this video.
If you checked your fuses, grounds, cleaned the terminals and the battery is not that old. Then I would suggest getting a scan tool to check your computer engine for codes. You might have a code pointing to your camshaft position sensor. This type of job will require replacement of your timing belt.
- I say will require because any given time you remove your timing belt for a repair job, it's best to replace the belt with a new timing belt.
Hope you are able to get your MDX fix soon.

It seems this might be somewhat of a common issue with the audio system. Such as the LCD screen too may have an issue with the ribbon cable.
eBay is a perfect place to source USED and NEW parts for bargain price. There are times I would catch a dealership selling OEM parts for a good deal.
Appreciate you sharing this information with everyone.
Disconnecting the batteries addresses the issue temporarily. Something else going on though. I would bet your lights came back on after a while.
Nope, hope all is well 💯
@@AWordFromMrJones good to hear. Not my case. I can overcome the fault by cutting power. Or it just goes away. Can’t find a code (even in diagnostic mode). Must be an intermittent fault. Will check grounds next I guess. While faulting need to double press start button to turn off. That’s a clue I guess. Also the key fob CEL illuminates.
@@formerengineer5784 Interesting, yeah I would check the grounds and reseat the fuses if possible just incase there might be a presence of dirt/slight corrosion.
I know when I had a Land Cruiser I had some sporadic issues which was the crank/camshaft sensors. I believe the CEL did not originally illuminate till later, I had confirmed with a tester. Once those sensors were replaced the issues had resolved.
Hope your able to get your issue resolved soon.

For the Buick I would still follow this process by checking the battery connections including the ground and also get your battery tested to ensure there battery does not have dead cells.

@@AWordFromMrJones I replaced the whole engine ! $8000.00, but before the engine died on me, Acura did replace a wire harness on the back of the engine. They said that a limited amount of cars had an wiring problem.

Watch my other videos showing continuous issues from 17 K to 72K. I can also show you numerous Acura inspections that prove maintenance was excellent. They looked at it every time I brought it in. Only had 73k.
