I don't think there's another fight in the entire series where he continues to strike his opponent long after his opponent is incapable of fighting back or defending himself. Fighting for revenge, with sheer emotion that looks to include anger is not a principle we ever see Ip fight by. This fight was personal. This movie is a good reminder of the Chinese people's physical strength. When Chinese troops were well fed and trained by the Allies, like Sun Li-Jen's men in the Burma campaign, they kicked Japanese ass in melees. In fact, many Chinese whose ancestors fought against (and with) the Manchus and Mongols were strongly built and prefer a protein-rich diet based on beef and lamb, compared to the Japanese who favor rice and fish. Before Japan's economic miracle after WWII, the average Japanese man stands at 160.3cm, even shorter than Hirohito himself.

He does struggle at the begging against miura.
the older a martial artist is, the stronger and more experienced he is
he was 79 against Collin frater
For intended purposes ip man sustained the most injuries against Barnes and he had to use all of his techniques to beat him even the forbidden ones
The sounds of the blows - like a high pitched bone fracture and cartilage tearing sound. Great.
This is the most inspirational movie ever. It changed my life
3 minutes and in the theater it felt like 30. 👍🏼
Yen's choreography and execution are a literal joy to watch.
You’re not wrong, however this is Sammo Hung’s choreography
BRUTALITY!!!
im impressed, general miura is the most reapectful villain in the franchise, he doesnt care about fame, wealth, or doesnt even try to cheat, hes all about respect, he couldve made a good ally but sadly he didnt make it, im sure glad hos colonel died tho
This is basically ip man beating down a man who had no chance
Who had it coming.
@Azazel And a black belt of 10th degree ( if you don't know what that is ,please google.
@@AlexLouisLogic I know what a black belt is dude I used to do judo back in the day I know
@@azazel5701 then is a eyesight problem. IP man is fighting a black belt. So the match is between two master level combatants.(referring to your initial post)
0:48
'Ah, shit, he's rolling up his sleeves. I guess I might as well pack it up and go home.'
Unfortunately, this is the first movie, so the general didn't know that yet.
I read the title as "Donnie Yen yeets Japanese general"😂😂😂
0:37 the general looks like he has never been hit in face before 🤣
And at 0:47, you see his homies get nervous and look at each other because they ALSO know the general has never been hit in the face, before lol
@@davidleonard7439 I know it’s a joke though it’s because they are surprised that IP Man was told that he would be killed if he won and IP Man doesn’t care and hits him to let them know he’s going to beat him.
@@kyleb7974 lol I know, I've seen all of the IP man movies...but thank you, tho!
@@davidleonard7439 👍
After His defeat
He Resigns
And commit Harakiri
That full body massage from Donnie was a lil over the top🤔🤷♂️🤣
After watching these fight scenes on YT, I watched the full movie. The full movie is set before and during the Japanese invasion of China during WW2. It's pretty deep and explains a lot about the relationship between China and Japan.
Well Japan was an island that didn’t want to be threatened by expanding outside cultures so they did one last ditch effort to expand their influence rather than be overtaken by foreigners but now we have the current Japan which is vastly different than feudal Japan
@@c.galindo9639 i thought they wanted more resources
It’s never one answer or another usually a blend of logic emotion and other ways to justify death and killing historians want it to be simple and history text books need it to be simple but in reality it’s super stupid complex
@@jason_刘 that was one reason for the invasion as they need resources for expanding their empire through force but not the main reason they invaded China
@@c.galindo9639 Japan was already influenced by outside culture which was Chinese culture, for thousand of years. Almost every part of Japanese culture was originated in China.
0:40 he was like I’m done🤣🤣
At that stage it was more, "Oh now I'm pissed". The after the chain punching he knew he was done for.
Bruce Lee was the greatest for a reason and ip man was that reason!💯😘😁😉👍
Absolutely beautiful artwork with intensity to stifle your foe....👊
This movie is a good reminder of the Chinese people's physical strength. When Chinese troops were well fed and trained by the Allies, like Sun Li-Jen's men in the Burma campaign, they kicked Japanese ass in melees. In fact, many Chinese whose ancestors fought against (and with) the Manchus and Mongols were strongly built and prefer a protein-rich diet based on beef and lamb, compared to the Japanese who favor rice and fish. Before Japan's economic miracle after WWII, the average Japanese man stands at 160.3cm, even shorter than Hirohito himself.
fun fact: the actor for general miura is skilled in *judo* instead of *karate*. it's a little hilarious, but then again, those two are basically bread and butter to each other.
I dunno howmany times Ive watched this specific fight. Love it how ip man's life long practice was unleashed with 100% precision.
Ip Man doing a live demonstration on how to tenderize japanese meat.
Miura seems like an easy boss compared to the American drill sergeant. But Twister is the only bad guy who actually came close to killing Ip Man.
I got Miura beating Twister
Beast mode unlocked when Ip Man rolled up his sleeves.
IP MAN IS THE MASTER OF BRUCE LEE AND HIS MARTIAL ARTS IS WING CHUN 👊👊👊🔥🔥🔥
Love this scene it's really happening in singapore for years now😅
I encourage you .How long have you been in this field?
Back when fights scene wasn't commercial style and was actually a very good pasted fight. Idk why I can't see that after Ip man 3 the fights just didn't seem natural like this one.
wait you think people fight like this. It is not realistic. It just doesnt work
Grandmasters still remains best IP Man movie. Great story.
Master Donnie Yen is the best !
The way Ip Man moves in to end it at 2:11 it’s like he’s saying to the general “right, NOW I’m going to hurt you” 😮💨
Looked like a Killer Instinct Ultra Combo. Even powered through the combo breakers!
Lolol. True.
Nice flip kick bro
Ip Man's way of clapping cheeks to his opponents
THE BEST MOVIE ❤❤
When the final boss is too easy for you.
I love this battle...
A Masterpiece.
Nice video
