    The scene has simple but excellent storytelling. I really like how each master does a little better than the previous one until he is ultimately surpassed. You can even feel the antagonist being nervous when he struggles to put the lady away. Great job by everybody.

    After seeing other people's comments I decided to check and Chris's movements made much more sense. His karate blocks were closer to the body than Goju Ryu or Shotokan and felt more akin to Wing Chun, even when the form is flawless. His delivery is excellent and I honestly cant imagine how many takes it took to perform the flying kick takedown.
    Great job. Simply great.

    Donnie Yen is such a wonderful actor, wish he would do more roles in Western films, and not necessarily kung fu/fighting ones, he has real charisma and screen presence.

    I studied karate and other martial arts coming up. I always have a great appreciation for the fundamentals and accuracy when watching TV or combat sports. Also this whole sequence was just crazy badass.

    Always loved this scene. I realize the choreography is a huge part of it, but I find it very impressive that you were able to simulate karate-type movements so well despite it not being an art you practice. Bravo!

    This fight scene to me speaks volumes on the fact that no style is perfect. It really boils down to the person using their art. Every style has weak and strong points but it's up to the person to compromise the weak points and maximize the strengths. Beautifully done.

    Martial arts and acting were on point, the expressions from the overconfidence of the character , to the fear he felt as he got beaten up could be felt from the face alone. Must have been amazing to have this opportunity to fill this role and hope u get more.

    Thank you for the childhood memory. I loved this scene so much! With the fighting between two martial arts and the choreography it just made the scene that much better. I also love the song that plays in the background between you and ip man fighting. I'm tryna find it but can't🤔

    The Master V the Student is what I read from this. Colin should have realised that no matter how fast a Gunslinger you are, there is always someone out there that's faster than you. I know it's acting but what I say is true.

    I also studied Karate (Wado Ryu) and Wing Chun and believe that a combination of both styles are more effective than just one. I think this scene is a perfect demonstration of that, especially when fighting a much stronger and bigger opponent. Love the Ip Man series but recognise that Wing Chun has it’s limitations despite what’s shown here.

      the ``principles´´ of wing chun are exceptional but... it suffers from dynamism, varied blows and techniques that can be acquired from other styles.

      Tbf, if you're looking for an effective fighting style, no style of karate or wing chun will be effective. There's good reasons for why people fight in actual full contact matches don't use either, and it's not because it's "too deadly".

      Pure karate and especially pure wing chun isn’t usually effective, but having a base in either and filling in the weak spots with techniques from other disciplines can make for a very effective fighter, they may need to use exceptional movement and timing which may not be able to be developed by the average person though

    Been practising Wing Chun for 2 years now. The Ip Man movies introduced me to Wing Chun and since learning, it has changed my life in so many ways all for the better. In all the Ip Man movies, this fight scene is probably my favorite and what you provided in this scene is part of why it's my favorite. Thank you Sifu Chris Collins.

      @@SifuChrisCollins iam not big master like u nor a so much expert like many of others only 6 months of shotokan karate and shorin ryu karate training I came to realise u r good at specific type of martial art in which u r confortable .Despite karate leaner movement I always used circular movement in kumite with much confort like spinning back kick spining punch .I have great respect for u i still practice spining side kick etc with ease .I notice one thing some basic moves of all martial arts r same in our own sikh martial art of traditional weapons Gatka and extreme weapon fighting like sword club fightin shield and sword many moves looks identical to chenese martial art.This is big surprise to me with this fighting skills despite advent of guns many casaulateis r caused to enemies.

    This scene was actually my favorite scene in Ip Man 4. You absolutely NAILED your role, and were my favorite character in the movie! I loved how you theatrically and realistically displayed Karate fundamentals in a very applicable way.

    Com muito respeito e admiração pelo trabalho realizado da 7° arte que é o cinema! A coreografia muito bem ensaiada e coordenada! Muitos transferem a arte e a ficção para a vida real! Bruce Lee, entendeu e percebeu que para um combate real apenas o conhecimento do wing chun não seria suficiente para ter êxito. Isso é tão fato que ele criou seu caminho ( modelo ) no jeet kune do, abrindo caminho para técnicas que se aplicavam a distância ou no agarramento, seja no chão, ou muito próximos. É evidente que existem uma série de circunstâncias que envolvem um confronto real. Este relato tem o objetivo de uma reflexão! O melhor confronto é aquele realizado no campo do diálogo, sendo resolvido sem a necessidade do uso da força!

    The way Ip Man put his finger on the throat is like saying "that's enough" but the karate guy still continued. Well, it ended miserably for him.
    In spite of hate, Ip Man still gave mercy for his enemy.

    I saw a TV programme some time ago called 'In Search Of Superhuman Powers'. They had a Shaolin monk on there - surprisingly a Belgian guy. I saw him do things on that show that simply are not humanly possible. I honestly think that these guys channel something.
