For a while, i hated having a 2003 Corolla CE, because all the other college students have nicer and newer cars. As I've grown to understand the value of having a car, and the durability of Toyota, I have learned to become very grateful for it.
An Altis verision (a luxury version of a Corolla) would make more people want a Corolla but it seem like American market want people to only have a basic Corolla only. Really unfair when people in Asia get access to luxury car very cheaply and not have to go to Lexus to experience one
@@alpzepta I own and Altis and I think its quite similar to the same generation Camry I personally like my Altis more than a Camry but they are quite similar
These little cars are immortal. Mine's got 320,000 miles on it and is in great condition mechanically with nothing more than regular maintenance. Last year I calculated my highway mpg is still 34 which is great considering the rated mpg is 35. The interior holds up really well too. There's a reason you still see this model everywhere after 20 years.
That is great!
I had a 2005 Corolla LE one of the best cars, I see them still running around lol
Great cars for sure!
I own an 05 LE model.
I can say this car will last forever.
I am not a nice owner I will push the car, speed over potholes, occasionally scratch or kink the car.
I don’t always keep maintenance 100% up to date.
I ran off the road on a bad weather day into a ditch I honestly thought I totalled my car… nope, only thing I lost in the process was a hubcap.
I’ve driven a new 2023 Corolla. I can say the new ones are not as comfortable, I went on a couple road trips in my 05 Corolla and I was never too uncomfortable.
The new ones seats felt very stiff and rough.
But I actually do love the new ones. The tech and features were amazing, they felt a little more responsive in my opinion, they were definitely a little faster.
The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the CVT but I also didn’t hate it as much as I thought I would.
As a cheap, starter or daily car. The 05 Corolla is amazing.
If you want to spend more then go ahead and get a newer one!!
The 05 is really nice! Be gentle to it though. Don't abuse it for no reason :)
It’s an extremely durable car even in 2023. I use one
For sure!
I just got one for 5k with 130k miles.
@@brandoncoins8246 How is it ?
I just bought one and it's awesome
2024 and I drive a 2006 Corolla with 140k miles and she runs perfectly. Best car ever
That is open
I have the same exact 2005 white toyota corolla its the best car ive ever bought so dependable tough and reliable i bought it with 168,000 miles it now has 283,000 miles and running great
That is awesome!
My dream spec - 2005 Corolla LE with Sunroof, Leather seats and the JBL sound system. Its a baby lexus! (lexus designed and built the interior for this 9th gen corolla!) Incredible quality for an old car. But its so hard to find them with leather interior! Someday!
I own this same car. 111000 miles and going strong.
I have 250k miles and still running strong
Love 9th gen Corollas, they are very easy to fix, and to do maintenance on. They last forever.
The visibility is fantastic in this car....... you get modern safety PLUS old-fashion visibility (not like cars nowadays)
It has good visibility for sure!
I like when people review old cars in this pov style
I will try to find more older cars like this👌
@DMCarReviews yes please do! Esp Honda and Toyota!
I just bought a 2008 Toyota Corolla ce with only 83k kilometres. That’s roughly 52k original miles. I absolutely love it so far.
That is awesome!
My first car was a 2004! I love it!!! This one sounds the same as mine did! The difference in gears (RPM drops between) is something we don't hear much anymore these days with the 6-7-8 speed gearboxes.
Agreed!
Very nice car, I have a Toyota Corolla Le 2003 and works perfect, has 159,000 miles, beautiful car.
Great ride!
Wow incredibly quick!
For sure!
APPRECIATION--appreciate you doing reviews of these olders cars mang, not everyone wants the new stuff. We just want basic transportation with fantastic visibility and very decent safety.
Thank you for watching and the support! I love filming the older cars too.
This is my ACT DREAM CAR
I love Toyotas. This Corolla is no exception. I especially love their key fobs as a visually impaired person. If I do regain site though, and a 2005 or 2006 Toyota Corolla LE is still available for use, I will definitely buy it.
They are great!
@@DMCarReviews well now the closest I can get to a Toyota Corolla with an ignition key like before is the Toyota Corolla LE, which uses the switchblade key, which I also really enjoy.
These are great cars! The first car I bought was a brand new silver 2006 Corolla S back in 2005. I had to eventually sell it over five years later cause I needed a bigger car with more space. I still see these everywhere which doesn't surprise me one bit. I've since purchased mostly Toyota/Lexus vehicles all with no problems as expected.
That is good!
I just bought the 2006 version. Very economical
Great car!
I bought last week on Craigslist a 2003 Corolla CE 151k miles, for 3k cash,,it performs amazing, then after Installing bluetooth I feel like I bought a brand new car with Spotify👌
Congratulations! Glad to hear that
I have one and I love it ❤
Glad to hear! It's a great car.
Love these car videos, keep it up
Thank you💪
God that thing is beautiful. My dream car right there.
41 mpg on the highway cant beat that.
I would love to have this car
Corolla LE 🔥❤️
My winter beater 2007 Mazda 3 2.0 4 speed auto is doing 8.4s with 265k km’s so around 165k miles, it has been nothing but reliable and somewhat fun to drive, I just wish it was manual
When cars where made for driving
Trouble free driving. Simply for no thrills, but these things are unbeatable for reliable transportation.
That is true!
@@DMCarReviews I still drive my 2005 corolla everyday with only regular oil changes, batteries, brakes and tires being replaced. She still runs and drives like the day I bought it off the showroom floor. If you don't beat the car, she will continue giving you stress free performance for years to come. Some people label Toyota as boring. I laugh. Overall, the best vehicle I ever owned, bar none. No major breakdowns or costly repair shop surprises, even as an old car. To me, that is incredible.
Then manufacturers were after names but now is after profits. These days we don't have durable cars again.
great review. thats crazy how many miles the owner drove! awesome stuff
Hi! Thank you. I believe this car had around 170k, before it got totaled...
Love these cars
REALLLLLLLY appreciate this review man!!!!!!!
Of course!
The interior on this old one was higher quality. My 04 lexus also had the same kind of "old toyota interior" type of quality that they just dont do on their new vehicles.
Exactly!
This car would be very fun with a 5 speed!
For sure!
@@DMCarReviews I like your attitude when teaching him about the cruise control. Some other car enthusiasts can be very condescending.
@@winstonmiu Thank you!
Great car
Drove an 05 S. Initial throttle tip in really does provide a lot more power than youd expect. Though I realized after going wot it didnt have much more in it lol. Was deceptive because you get like 90% of the power in the first 10% throttle.
It is like that!!
One for sale at my local used car dealer for 8 grand with 122k miles should I buy it? I think I’d drive it for at least 10 years lol
That is not bad! It will easily go 10 more years. I'd see if they could sell it for 6.5-7k.
@@DMCarReviewsYou give great advice , I'm an autobroker. I would advise the same thing.
I'm 6'3", 228 lbs. and not an athlete by any means. I must need to lose some fat because I found the steering wheel in this gen to be too low for comfort. Otherwise, I found the 2005 Corolla to be comfortable, peppy, and hardly bogs down at all from extra passengers. Much better quality than a 2015 Kia Soul base. I found the 2015 Kia Soul to be the most ergonomic "economy" car for my height/weight unfortunately. 263k miles on my car though. May not be as good as a Toyota but fairly close I suppose. If only I could get this Toyota transmission in my car. That's the downfall of my car. The 2015 Kia Soul has a Mitsubishi/Dodge (joint venture) made transmission which hesitates between 4th to 5th and sometimes 5th to 6th. Kia does their transmissions pretty well, so unsure why they took a transmission from the Dodge Dart. Eek.
Thank you for sharing your feedback!
College level car..
3:00 this part is amazing the main part I was looking for.. I have friends that are 6’0 and wanted to see how it would be for somebody 6’0+
It's actually really good!
