      Delightful Travellers no more like a mini-city. They even have government offices, office building and condos attached to the mall. In theory, you can live without leaving the mall.

      first time i got here in USA i was actually expecting really big malls. but got disappointed really. i used to spend my day off in the mall hang out and chill. you know its hot in Philippines so its good to walk around the mall window shopping. since i love window shopping, first thing i check out is the mall in Michigan. but sad to say its disappointing and boring. Malls here in should keep up with their marketing. Even grocery shopping at SAvemore in Philippines is more fun. you'll just here some employees there just sing and dance out of nowhere. Its actually fun. Hope they still do it though. I never go to malls here in US now but what really hook me into here in USA are the thrift stores. and the seasonal clearances. Its amazingly cheap up to 90% off. nothing can beat that.

      @Craig...In the US and Western countries, yes, I agree that malls are boring and sterile. But not in the Philippines. The mammoth malls such as this Seaside City mall, have almost everything a family wants. There is a huge sky park at the 4th level deck divided into 4 sections with different themes for kids and 3 ampitheater and lush garden. It has 8 movie screens, an Olympic-size ice skating rink, a 36-lane bowling alley and game room, karaoke TV room, archery range, maze garden, several kids playrooms, go kart race track, etc.

      Several big malls have condos beside them that are attached to the mall. This particular mall even has an office building in the centre.

    • @minim6981
      @minim6981 6 років тому +23

      Craig - malls have become a big part of the culture in the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia mainly because of the climate. For most of the year it's either too hot or too rainy to be outside comfortably for long periods of time, so that's why everything has moved indoors. In Manila, there are a few really nice malls that are mostly outdoors though, and they dont feel like traditional malls

      SM would have been building the condo and office components two years ago on its 30-hectare property but the current mayor, Tommy Osmena, has an ongoing legal tussle with SM. He refused to issue permits to all businesses affiliated or directly owned by SM company. The 24-hectare lot that SM bought in joint venture with Ayala in SRP is currently the subject of legal battle filed by the mayor against SM and Ayala. The old SM City Cebu would have been expanded a year ago but was also put on hold as the city refused business permit. The construction of the Seaside Arena would have been started last year had Osmena not rescinded the purchase by SM of the lot next to its existing property.

Or go to the roof garden and be amazed of those abandoned and unfinished glass pavillions which are deteriorating away.

    All the food you've bought are considered viand here in the Philippines, even the side dish veges, and eating those need rice for it to balance the saltiness of the viand. Hehehehe! Nice video... hope you have more videos about our country. Try to visit Tacloban City, this coming 28-30 of June there will be a Sangyaw Fiesteval and Pintados Kasadyaan. It would be great if you make video blog here in our city.

    The reason why malls have become commonplace in the PH is because of the humid weather. Without malls, it is so hot to move from one stand alone store to another and we end up drenched in sweat. Malls are air conditioned and thus we can go around in cool comfort. Little by little all other services were set up in malls - mails, delivery, in some even renewal of driver's licenses.

Bili kayo ng plane tickets many months ahead of time para makakuha ka ng sale. Piliin nyo lean season. tapos huwag palaging restaurant food, kahit turo turo ok na iyon. Start student life style muna tsaka na bonggang bakasyon kapag aging manager na kayo o CEO, he he he ...

      From Cebu here. The mall is actually only awesome on the weekends or holidays. If you go there on the weekdays it’s actually pretty much deserted. It’s actually losing money and many stores have already closed because of lack of business. That’s why there are so many events going on during weekends to attract people.

      Jamesdin Yap accessibility is also hard commoners have to use bus or taxi just to go that mall. I mean the mall is not accessible via jeepney well commoners like to save money. Pretty risky to walk outside the in a couple meters as there is a slum ahead, I've encountered 3 guys waiting in bridge area like scouting if you have jewelry or expensive accessories.

    When in Cebu, you should not miss Lechon de Cebu. Or your Cebu trip is not complete. Cebu is the lechon capital of the world as declared by the world's celebrity chef, Anthony Bourdain. People from around the country, and even from other countries, travel to Cebu just for the lechon. Cebu has 5 major lechon houses that you could try. Canyoneering adventure is the most popular and the best experience you could ever get in Cebu and your entire Philippine trip. Waterfalls chasing is another popular adventure as Cebu hosts to 111 waterfalls, the most number in the country. Cebu is an island of waterfalls too aside from being an island of beautiful beaches.
