  • In this video, I explain one way to set up your solar generator to an interlock system in your home. I also explain how to manage the power. I use my Delta Pro and 2 extra batteries throughout the video as an example. Then, I shut off the power to my house for 24 hours to show how all this works!
    I have another video where I review this very Delta Pro by way of a 24 power outage simulation, but it is in our last home, which was an all electric home.... much different setup and management!

    After Ida knocked out the grid for a few weeks, I got a pair of Delta Pros and a Double Voltage hub to run the house when it happens again. I haven't gotten the solar panels for charging yet, but they're on the list. Thanks for the video; great information and clearly presented.

    Well it’s about time. Considering how much information you share about their products for the average person they should have sent out their newest offering. You do a great job of explaining and demonstrating the practicality of the devices. Much better than some of the cheerleaders that just shout buy anything they get their hands on.

    Thanks for the education. Will be watching your other videos next. I have an EcoFlow River 2 pro backed up with a solar panel that I use in the summer to run 3 fans to keep my 8 chickens cool under a canopy. I am investigating using the EcoFlow Delta Pro with solar backup for electrical outages.

      Just had the chance to try this and it works well. I have two Delta Pros with two extra batteries each. Took about 3 to 4 hours to charge from 40 percent. And in my case I only had to charge every 2 days or so. Out of curiosity I was wasteful and ran washe/dryer loads, dishwasher pretty much carrying on as if there wasn't a power outtage. Batteries lasted 18 hours. I'm content with this setup for now until I can bet something larger and more robust.
      One thing I learned...I still had cable internet even though there was a powe outtage...

    Fantastic video. Love your set up. During the Freeze we had a couple of years ago we lost power for 10 days. Luckily I had gotten to learn about these power banks before it happened. We are avid campers and fisherman I first started with the Inergy Apex and Jackery 500 for our cpaps and camp lights. When EcoFlow made its debut we bought 2 delta max 2000 to use as eps for our freezer and fridge for when we travel out of town. I too have a generator and converted it to dual fuel basically to use to charge my power banks on cloudy days. Since we camp a lot we used our camp chef propane stove for our cooking, it is pretty amazing with each burner putting out 20,000 Btu's. I would also like to add that when we do have extended power outages I use 12V fridge freezer like my dometics . The Jackery 500 will run one during the Texas summer heat close to 40 hours and just piggy back my Inergy Apex and charge the Jackery 500 from it. If I run a 100W solar panel to the Jackery it keeps it going indefinitely. I don't recommend Jackery anymore because they are very slow to charge at 81W but they were the best years ago. Again great, great video.

    I pressed the main on/off power button for 3 seconds to shut off the power just like the manual said & it doesn't go off. What's the deal Does it have something to do with the Device Timeout setting in the app? I just bought this Delta Pro but know little to nothing on how to use.

    What size of gas generator would work to charge the delta pro. Im concerned with the 1600w 15a input max for the delta pro. I haven't bought a gas generator yet but have saw many that had 120v 20 amp outlets. The delta pro has overload protection and i dont want to trip that.

      @PreppingOver50 I like the wheels and handle, although I 'm a healthy 66 and have no trouble lifting the the primary and secondary batteries its more convenient. Also , at 30% only takes 2 hours for a charge with ac or just a little longer with 1000 wa panels
      It's built with more commercial components than its competitors. After 6 months of analysis, I find its a more solid unit for my needs.

    I have a total of 12 single cell batteries in 3 pacs of 4 cells = 2832 Wh. Each 4 cell pac can draw up to 600 amps each (surge) x 3 = 1800 amp surge .I don't run everything in my house, just my upright Freezer for now. The Solar panels (over 500 watts) are the weakest link in the chain because of the sun blocking program. I cant recall last time we had a full week of Sun. It doesn't seem to matter whos in Office the cloud seeding continues. For about $1000.00 i can run my whole house if i need to. Delta Flow Pro cost on an Avg $3000.00 each. If i had unlimited funds i may have gone the Ecoflow route but you cant go far these days on a fixed income. Now EcoFlow has the Delta Pro Ultra. Id be kicking myself in the butt knowing i could have got one Ultra and saved some money.

      @@LoneStarPreppingI’ve another question for you . We just bought 1 of the eco flow delta pro batteries and have 4 of the 100 watt renology panels wired in as series , we also have a 400 watt eco flow panel . Can you please explain how to wire all of these together to plug in to the eco flow delta pro without going over the max voltage , or the max amperage ?

  • @sweettaterpotato773
    @sweettaterpotato773 3 місяці тому

    I have a question . What if there was a total grid down situation where there’s no cell service or internet , do these units require firmware updates? Is there anything with these units that require the use of an app ? Do they require periodic updates or troubleshooting through an app ? If so…. In a total grid down situation if there were no internet service available this would render this system useless if it requires periodic firmware updates or anything to do with an app , this is my question . I’d like to know if this system can still be useful in that type of scenario

    • @LoneStarPrepping
      @LoneStarPrepping  3 місяці тому +1

      First, if you are talking about a grid down situation that may last several months or years, a portable power station would be the last thing I would worry about. You should watch my video - How to survive and EMP -
      They don't require an update. It runs fine just as it is. When they find improvements, you can install them. If the grid down situation was because of an EMP, you wouldn't likely have a unit that would work anyway, unless it was protected via faraday cage. I have a video that shows how to make one for a portable power station but not this big.

      @@LoneStarPrepping Thank you so much for your response . We live in Florida so we’re used to the hurricanes down here. Once we were without power for 2 weeks so we used the gas generator. Another question I have is With the solar generator . I like your video with the 5000 btu window ac. With that what do you think the running average hours could you run the small unit for in a small room with the solar generator? We’re thinking of getting a solar generator . We like the echo delta pro, but we’ve also been looking at the new anchor solix f 3800 , not sure which one we should get . Do you have any opinions on which unit would be best ?

    • @LoneStarPrepping
      @LoneStarPrepping  3 місяці тому +1

      My Pro and 2 batteries should be able to run my window air 19 or so hours without charging it, if the AC unit runs without cycling off and on. So, there are 9,900 usable watt hours, and the AC unit potentially can run about 500 watts. So worse case... 9,900/500 = 19 hours.
      I don't know anything about the Solix f 3800 but it looks like a pretty nice unit.
