Are you kidding? This is gonna bring a lot of people out walking, battling, trading, interacting. Having it on phones is gonna make these interactions more common than with the core games.

Quite the opposite. I was beta testing with a friend in downtown one day, and a fellow player came up to us asking if we were beta testers for GO as well. We invited him to join us next to a Pokéstop and talked for a good half hour sharing our findings and rare pokémon and tips on the mechanisms, and all around having a good time.

Pokémon Go Plus is schedule to release at the end of July 2016. Meaning that Go will be released before this device. The device is set at $34.99 USD. They are starting the release with only Kanto region Pokémon, and as the game and community progresses; They will add more pokemon, items, etc. This is all info from the video if anyone doesn't have time to watch it.

well this game is based of original game, ingress. the battle system there was not complicated but satisfying. people usually forget that this game is more capture the point. besides imagine a drawn out battle sucking all your data and battery

PvP is for the 3DS games. This game is about creating gyms and challenging other players gyms.
Hadditor That's not Pokemon...The whole point of many people wanting a pokemon MMO like this is to have a way to battle each other in PvP anytime they want with the pokemon they caught...Why even trade with anyone (other than to get pokemon you don't have) when we finish trading we will just go back to fighting gyms with CPU controlled pokemon....
exactly. If they dont add battling it's not gonna last very long. In normal pokemon games, yes, "gotta catch them all" is the catch phrase, but after people beat the elite four they lose interest in collecting them any further. All the games what keeps people wanting to play is BATTLING and collecting badges. If there is no purpose past collecting and playing only by yourself, its gonna lose interest fast. and not everyone is about to to huge travel, people will probably get bored of walking around only finding the same damn pokemon. not everyone can travel very far. they could at least add batting so collecting doesnt get so boring. I mean me myself, the only places I'll mostly go is to work and home.lol. I dont have a free lance pokemon training life!

What does the bracelet do?
Its not only fun but it makes people want to go out and walk away more then usual. I know from experience and its exciting to walk in places and get exercise while catching pokemon. I walked to places i usually drive to and walk back without a pokemon sometimes but i dont feel bad at all because I got exercise.
It's a good idea and all but for someone like me who is at the gym everyday and working some days I want to spend my down time resting so I won't be able to play this game

I think this was just an example. I think the amount of candies that you will get after catching a certain pokémon depends on the pokemon itself. In example you also can catch 25 different pokemon and each of them will give you 1 candie or maybe there are rare pokemon that will give you 5 candies if you catch them and so you need to catch 5 rare pokemon and each of them gives you 5 candies and so on.
from what Ive read, the only way to lvl up pokemon is to catch pokemon in similar families, so squirtle, you have to catch tons of squirtle and its evolutions in order to lvl up YOUR current squirtle
its kinda lame and nothing like actual pokemon, you're suppose to be able to battle wild pokemon, lvl up and weaken pokemon to catch them, currently you just throw a ball and prey it works...:(
Im still gonna give this a chance but that alone and the fact that the battle system is just tapping and swiping and not actually using moves might just be the nail in the coffin for a majority of fans.
They mentioned they don't want the old battle system because it would be too time consuming for an application that is designed to work OUTSIDE and on data.
I don't see how battling and catching 25 Squirtle takes less time and data than battling 25 random Pokemon and catching the ones you want.

Japanese is a lot longer of speaking and a lot more complicated
He not only translated the question, he also translated the entire 30 second story that the guy said before his question, so really good on that translator for getting all of that across in order to keep all of the non english speakers up to speed.
Japanese is a more complicated language, and English is very simple. Simple and complicated to not translate quickly.
+Randall McNair it's the other way around. English has words many other languages don't have. Even from French,Spanish and Italian, things don't always come back to English well so you have to kind of fill in the blanks. Like a joke translated to English probably won't be funny at all anymore by the time you're done.

It's a great addition. My first time playing Pokemon was a dark part in my life. I locked myself in my room and was absorbed by games, especially Pokemon. It was a world I felt the happiest. Not saying Pokemon is a bad game at all, but this brings up why I feel GO is such a great addition to Pokemon. Over the years I realized I was destroying myself with too much gaming and sitting around wasting away. So for Nintendo to take a game that literally took me out of a dark part of my life, and incorporate being outside more and active with many people, and re-learning how to be a person again. It's wonderful. I love their idea to get people out and about more. Yes there is still some that will pay more attention to the phone than surroundings, but they even checked that by adding the natural backgrounds, and having it notify you that a pokemon is nearby, so you don't have your face buried in a phone. I mean you and friends and family could be having fun at a park or food place. It'll buzz and you can quickly check it. It joins, the real world and Pokemon. While helping many get themselves back into the real world. The creator of Pokemon, being from what I've learned is autistic knows this feeling, and that is another reason that helps me trust and feel more part of the games as well.

That translator is so good at understanding and talking Japanese! The pronunciations are on point. I saw him in the Sun and Moon video as well. Also it would've been so awkward and funny if when that guy was showing his pictures of Pokemon he captured, an inappropriate picture was shown by accident lol

It's safe to say that practically everyone who's played Pokemon and had fallen in love with it has dreamed for their existence.
i respect that translator. i can hardly remember what people say to me moments before, much less what someone says to someone else entirely much less retell the entire statement in another language. in front of so many people as well.

As an avid runner, I'm excited for this, I just wonder how much the actual app would drain the battery. Like, would I be able to have the app open, or would it be better to have it closed, as I run?

I play ingress(made by same company) and I can tell you it can drain your battery if your phone can't Handle having location and your data on at the same time. I have a gs4 and I can leave outside and not charge for about 5 6 hours

Well...after the first day (Which was understandable since everyone wanted to play) I've been having less and less issues. A few server inaccessibilities here and there, but restarting the app fixes that for me now...so at least they're working on the issues :)

this is a really long video so sorry if they answered this but since everyone in the area sees the same pokemon you do, is mostly just gonna be the same pokemon against eachother in battles unless someone has traveled alot?
It will be different from town to town. If someone has been to certain towns, they will have different pokemon then u and vice versa. Lets say u live in long Island NY and ur friend just went to NYC. U might not have every seen a muk, but they might come back with one because new york is a polluted place that, in the pokemon universe, would habituate a muk rather than long island. Hope that helped.
I understand how you feel, but if Pokemon were real and everyone stayed in the same area then those trainers would have the same Pokemon. the main point to the show and games was to travel. If you could all have different Pokemon and stay in one area then there would be no point in traveling or going that extra mile for a stronger pokemon

People are worried that players will get distracted and get hit by a car or something while they play, but it looks like from the demonstration, the map/overworld? tells you what's near you, and THEN you can choose to pull up the AR camera to battle. This means that if a Rattata is in your area, you can step to a safe spot, then battle/capture.
If you battle in the middle of the street on purpose, that's your deal.
Again, this is what it looks like to me, but I thought it'd be good to point out that Nintendo wouldn't put you (or your family) in danger.
