Welcome to JJ SPECIAL! In this video, we'll show you how to make the perfect Dal Vada - a crispy, flavorful, and popular South Indian snack. Dal Vada, also known as Parippu Vada, is made with chana dal (split chickpeas) and a blend of aromatic spices. Perfect for tea time or as an appetizer, this recipe is sure to impress your family and friends.
    Ingredients:
1 cup chana dal (split chickpeas)
    1 onion, finely chopped
    2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
    1-inch piece of ginger, grated
    10-12 curry leaves, finely chopped
    Salt to taste
    Oil for frying
    Instructions:
Rinse the chana dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 2-3 hours. Drain well.
In a blender, grind the soaked dal coarsely without adding water. A few whole lentils should remain for texture.
Transfer the ground dal to a mixing bowl. Add chopped onion, green chilies, ginger, curry leaves and salt. Mix well.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
Take a small portion of the mixture, flatten it slightly, and gently slide it into the hot oil. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
Fry the vadas until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato ketchup.
    Tips:
Ensure the dal is ground coarsely for a crunchy texture.
    Adjust the number of chilies
    based on your spice preference.
Do not overcrowd the pan while frying to ensure even cooking.
