that drop off at 0:56. i don’t think i can handle something like that. i wish i could. do you get used to that or were you always not afraid of it? congrats on the beautiful summit!
That guy with orange clothes and quechua backpack doesnt look like an export climber. I think is overweight and equipment doesnt look top quality. I though Matterhorn top was just for really experienced climbers!
Wasn't you listening, he said, "what is this the third time, second?" I believe that qualifies him as an expert. His gear is used, like because he uses it, not bringing up extra weight like some newbie.
Zottification, the guy you refer to is not an accomplished climber. We trained on the climbing part for 6 days and he trained for fitness for months prior. I will be honest, I had my doubts when we left the hut that morning. On top, he said it was easily the hardest thing, physically, he had ever done. I am not tooting my own horn here, but that's what a good guide can do....help people accomplish something that they probably could not on their own.
@@ITCOG So you were the guide? Didn't understand that, sorry. I have mixed feelings...I think I have a much better physical condition than that guy, and a more experienced mountaineer than him. But I don't think I am ready to go to the Matterhorn summit. And probably I will never try. Maybe that guy has ball of steel, maybe he, and you, are not enough responsible and aware of the situation. I mean, okay, when you are on top, you just walk. Who is not able to walk? But... if you make a mistake, you are dead. I think psychology also plays a crucial role there. Just saying, no offence. Or maybe you did a good choice, and going to the top of Matterhorn is not something impossible to do. I just know there are too many people who do it, so I think I will make a step back. I prefer not to disturb the nature too much. But still, this is a great video, and I love your videos, generally speaking. Cheers!
Im a backpacker and have traversed many knife edges like this but never at this altitude...stunning!
I fell off the edge of my bed at 0:56

Holy shit, the exposure on that ridge! Don't sneeze, fuck!

He looks like me going on my Sunday stroll in the Vosges mountains (very small mountains lol) with my bottle of water
he doesnt look fit but if he got to the summit of Matterhorn he is actually fit, there is no way he could do it if he wasnt.
