1. Easily the most chill send of this beastly climb ever recorded. 2. Easily the best video of a Dreamcatcher send, by a long shot. The various angles and quality of the shots is unparalleled, and the music choice is spot on. 14D sent. 15D video.
@@airspeed159 Totally agree, this is the first time I feel like I've actually understood the angles of this climb. Most other videos are a lot harder to parse
I've been to the base of Dreamcatcher. Looking up at the sloping rail, it's hard to understand how climbing it is even possible. Camera angles can't really capture how steep the wall is and how sloping the rail is. There were several points in this video that my jaw dropped at Michaela's precision and power. One watch and this is among my favourite climbing videos ever. Kudos to everyone involved, especially Michaela Kiersch!
@@theunaphotobomber why should it not be the send footage? I can speak from experience that its waaaaay different, (even just one little tiny grade between your max) to go easy peasy and casual through a route (like in that case) or screaming the hell out of your lunges, because its just 2% over your max and will your way through it🙄
I'm speechless about everything here. As a climber I dreamt (that's the point of the route i guess) over Chris Sharma's video in my teens. Now 10 years later comes the greatest climbing video ever. No talking, perfect music, filming at its best, and Michaela's climbing is just... surreal. Conjunction of smoothness and power, backed by a out of this world foot and leg work, everything summed up into a perfect flow. I think I'll never get tired of watching this... Hopefully my dreams are caught for the next decade all over again !
This was mind blowing! I’m just completely blown away with how calm and fluid her movement and problem solving was throughout this level of insane difficulty. This is the most high level climbing movement with the most high level filming to capture it all. Legendary all around for everyone involved.
You can't watch this and not think about the FA video... Sharma made it look so hard, Michaela makes it look so easy! What an amazing send, and great filming too.
Can only echo what others have already written. This was one of the best climbing videos I've seen in a long time. The rock formation itself is already beautiful but the camera angles and soundtrack really accentuate it. And there was no lengthy intro with musings about life and climbing in general. Straight to the point. Amazing!
So good that I have to comment again. Went back and watched the old Sharma video, and realized that this one is subtly building off that original video. This video's double-takes on big moves and percussion-led score are echoing the original (but more successfully, I would say). Also: what a labor of love! There are no sponsors for this video, at least not advertised. It's not on the Petzl channel or whatever. No logos, besides Kiersch's Five Ten / Adidas gear. Again, thanks for doing this, Gabi and Brandon Fox!
Damn, that's an amazing comment. Thank you! Definitely a passion project of ours that we're proud to put out there. Filming Michaela on this route and watching her float these moves with perfect execution was so fun. I love that you and others are seeing some of the inspiration drawn from the original Sharma vid too. Cheers!
Climbing is awesome, the edit is exceptional! Im not a fan of multiple angles, because they usually ruin the flow of whats happening, but whoever edited this just did it perfectly! You have enough time to recognise whats going on after a cut, but there is not a millisecond of boring set-up for a move after a cut! Please, more!
I remember climbing with Michaela at Hidden Peak in Chicago about 15 years ago. She would do endless circuits on the steep woodies, linking all the hardest boulder problems with ease. She has trained a long time for this send and she did it so gracefully. Awesome work!
i remember when the video of sharma was released and it inspired me so much to climb. unbelievable how this video shows the progress that the climbing sport in general has made in the meantime.
Awesome send, making it look so casual. Props to the filming on this, too. I've always loved watching videos of dreamcatcher, but these angles and close-ups give me a much better sense and appreciation of the holds and moves involved
Kudos to everyone involved in this masterpiece! I can't believe the level of production, the multiangle shots and the beautiful way captured. She is a beast! I just loved how chilled she seemed to be. That's when you realiase someone is well trainned. Huge Congrats on this diamon line!
what can I say? amazing climbing. beautifully shot video w great soundtrack. but the climbing! I'm so old I remember nailing climbs up the front of the Chief, big racks of crack-destroying pins rattling and clinking, so this video absolutely floored me. what a climber this woman is. fantastic.
Wow this was the cleanest send I've seen anyone put up on this route!! Adams was sick as well but you made those crux moves look so casual. Great climb, and much respect!!
such a BEAST and inspiration. just woowww!!!! such skill and flow. i'm so grateful to be able to witness this so thank you to the camera people and the editing.
I'm only new to climbing and it took me reading the comments to fully appreciate how epic this climb was. You made it look so effortless, which is only a testament to your skill. Awesome climb and video!
Eleganza, forza, determinazione, precisione, tutto amalgamato insieme in una danza perfetta. Grazie per questo meraviglioso video e questa incredibile salita
Love the climb but this shots, music and editing is truly next level. Give me mooreeeee! First time I clicked that bell icon and nobody even asked me for!
Amazing stuff guys! What a beast she is making this look so easy and graceful! Hats of to the whole production team - loved the straightforward send-in-one-go approach! Subbed.
Congrats for the smooooth send. 👍 It was also such a pleasure to watch with this grade of beautiful filming, editing and just amazing choice of music 🎼
When I first watched this, I thought damn who is this girl! Then I watched Chris Sharma, this legend of the community, struggle on the send, and now it made me realize how insanely smooth she did this. She is insane.
Normally when I watch a climb that is wayyyyy beyond my standard I can kinda see how it is possible. This, nuh uh. Epic, awesome. Wow. Mind blown. Thanks guys
I top out years ago in the Rockies leading and following 5.9. I remember Colorado's first 5.12\5.13 Sphinx Rock\Direct crack, Your climb is incredible! Climb on!
She looked like she was just doing a warm-up lap. Her hands must be made of super-glue. This is awesome though. This route is no joke. I've stood under it before and was utterly baffled at how poor the angles are. She absolutely crushed this thing. Great videography, solid editing. Thanks for sharing this with the world!
Wow... I've been climbing, indoors, for 3 years now. Best is a slopey 5.11a .... I tried a 5.12a and couldn't even get to the second hold. Dreamcatcher is an awesome route. Great send!

That seems like a bit of a sandbagged grade Whelm. The video should be graded at least 16a!
Not agree. I dont wanna see a movie. One camera is enough i got a headache wachtiing this
@@stephenr80 then don't watch it. This video does a great job of showing off the angles and holds better than any send footy I've seen. Great video.

lose the drums

Amen!
Нагадит.мури.замин.намебардорад.
what about the dudes that set the hook things (dont know the name of them dont climb) how in the hell did they do that?
That she only was dyno on the middle of the rail is dope and that she reached through at the crux.
Came here to say this. When I looked at the chalk marks on the wall, I could barely see the features people were using for holds.
I've never seen a route that hard climbed so casually. Great send and fantastic filming!
Then you havent seen megos climbing it and for sure you are new to climbing
What makes you say that?

@@kostaspaschalis I just rewatched Megos on dreamcatcher and it wasn't nearly as smooth as this ascent...

The most aesthetically pleasing line in the world + effortless climbing + amazing editing. Bravo 👍
The foot confidence on this monster of flow. My personal favorite send thus far of Dreamcatcher. Also, agreed w/Whelm; sick video.
Definitely one of the smoother Dreamcatcher sends. Also seems like one of the quickest. Nice work.

Super impressive, not just the climbing.. but the video quality and sound design. Please do more like this!
The music is so intense my palms were all sweaty watching this. Yet the climbing looks so effortless. A+ Well done!

Awesome film of an incredible send of one of the finest looking climbs out there. Thanks for sharing.
Glad y’all were able to document this. Footage is on point.
Great job on the video! It's so nice for us to be able to watch this incredible send with such good angles, cuts and music.
