At 1.52 you suggest using tweezers to remove the ribbon cable plug. All ou need to do is to lift the smal white retaining clip carefully. When the cable plug is replaced, simply push the clip bck down to hold it. Otherwise, vcery good video, thank you. Managed to replace my microswitches with far better ones.

Thanks for the video! just a note on the flex cable, you shouldn't just pull it right away. There is a tiny lever right above the blue plastic that you need to slightly pull up via nail or tweezer in order for the flex cable to released freely. You might end up destroying the tiny pins on that cable.

Also there's no way to assemble it back together unless connector is unlocked.

Did you have the two tiny springs that's right infront of the scrollwheel? I'm guessing it assists for scrollwheel downward click? The g604 and g502 has them, but I did not see you addressing it or mention it when you took the scrollwheel off around the 4 minute time during the video. Thank you!

I found this video because I've had enough of the annoying Alt-Tab button on the mouse. Looks like it's fairly easy to take out. Were you able to refasten the sticker at the top pretty well? I'm afraid of that being janky aftwards. And oh yeah, we're definitely going to need to know what model screwdriver that is please! :)

Do you have an affiliate link for that screwdriver? ;) I'm looking to replace my manual.

my m720 clicker started acting up after 2 years. would u know if it's possible to replace the main button switches? otherwise great mouse. thumb button placement for device switching is genius. im able to quick-draw switch between work laptop and home pc in milliseconds. hyperscroll wheel is excellent too. still looking for an rf/bluetooth gaming mouse with a device switch accessible via thumb and that speed scroll to this day.

Yeah it's definitely possible to replace the clickers; It's a fairly simple swap you can do by following the steps in this video. As for where to get the clickers, I would try to find a "for parts or broken" mouse on Ebay, and replace it with those.

It can be done! Here is an article on the problem and the replacement of the mouse button switches for older Logitech mice, but the general principals are the same. Combined with this video, you should be able to do it. I have read that sometimes the double-click issue is caused by static buildup in the mouse. You can try blowing air from your mouth into the mouse over the wheel, forcefully, to kill the static.
