Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Let me put my arms around your head (do-doo-ah)
Gee, it's hot, let's go to bed
Don't forget to turn on the light
Don't laugh, Babe, it'll be alright (do-doo-ah)
Pour me out another phone (do-doo-ah)
I'll ring and see if your friends are home
Perhaps the strange ones in the dome
Can lend us a book, we can read up alone
[Pre-Chorus]
And try to get it on like once before,
When people stared in Jagger's eyes and scored
Like the video films we saw
[Chorus]
His name was always Buddy
And he'd shrug and ask to stay
She'd sigh like Twig the Wonder Kid
And turn her face away
She's uncertain if she likes him
But she knows she really loves him
It's a crash course for the ravers
It's a drive-in Saturday
[Verse 2]
Jung the foreman prayed at work (do-doo-ah)
That neither hands nor limbs would burst
It's hard enough to keep formation
Amid this fall out saturation (do-doo-ah)
Cursing at the Astronette (do-doo-ah)
Who stands in steel by his cabinet
He's crashing out with Sylvian
The bureau Supply for ageing men
[Pre-Chorus]
With snorting head he gazes to the shore
Where once had raged the sea that raged no more
Like the video films we saw
[Chorus]
His name was always Buddy (do-doo-ah)
And he'd shrug and ask to stay
And she'd sigh like Twig the Wonder Kid (do-doo-ah)
And turn her face away
She's uncertain if she likes him (do-doo-ah)
But she knows she really loves him
It's a crash course for the ravers (do-doo-ah)
It's a drive-in Saturday, yeah
[Chorus]
His name was always Buddy (do-doo-ah)
And he'd shrug and ask to stay
And she'd sigh like Twig the Wonder Kid (do-doo-ah)
And turn her face away
She's uncertain if she likes him (do-doo-ah)
But she knows she really loves him
It's a crash course for the ravers (do-doo-ah)
It's a drive in Saturday, yeah, yeah
[Outro]
Drive-in Saturday
It's a drive-in Saturday
It's a drive-in Saturday (drive, drive-in Saturday)
It's a drive-in Saturday (it's a, it's a, it's a drive-in Saturday)
It's a drive-in Saturday (it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a)
(It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a)
It's a drive-in Saturday
It's a drive-in Saturday
It's a drive-in Saturday
It's a drive-in Saturday
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

I just wish there was a compilation on youtube of him just talking on stage before performing a song because those parts are funny and heartwarming

When I first listened to a Bowie song I thought to myself, “this music is weird and his voice is strange” now that I’ve learned about him I understand the lyrics and his voice expresses and fits with them so well. He truly is a legend... rest easy starman
Silly old me thought he was only Ziggy back then and was like "ok this is cool but not for me" without even trying to listen, then I came across the Low album and realised he was so much more than the small box my mind had put him in, rip
His voice is awesome

Only Bowie would show up to a concert in what ever outfit he wants, extravagant or simply casual.

Great music. As a person some of the things he did are really really so selfish and lacking any empathy that when I came to know about this, I did no longer feel he is a legend`. Not in every aspect to say the least. I mean firing one of the bandmembers per phone on his wedding day because he dared to ask for more salary (many months before that day btw) when he found out new musicians of the Spiders from Mars got much much much more. I mean: what kind of person are you when you remember that and feel you can get your "revenge" by doing that on what should have been a party. By phone. And he had more of these things and it seems almost always when it was about money. No. Not a legend for me.
David Robert Jones will never die.
David Bowie will never die.

I just discovered this genius for myself a week ago and
I am euphoric, amazed, and incredibly sad at the same time. His expression at 1:37 makes me a little happy

Is there a meme or gif of that anywhere need to use it to send to the masses

Me too and my Bowie shrine keeps growing.
I can’t explain it. But his voice and lyrics have always spoken to me like no other.
Don’t even try to explain it, you’ve no need to. Just be happy to live with it! 😊🌹
Indeed
Me too. All time favorite.

Whenever I hear Bowie I just feel like going for it. Being creative. No other artists inspires me to express myself the way Bowie does.

This is my favourite Bowie song. Aladdin Sane is a wonderful album.
These random uploads give me life.
Despite David's immense talent and success, he always came across as a regular, down to earth, likable guy. One of the all-time greats of all time.
Didn’t know this man but I loved him. May this star always shine bright . Gone but never forgotten xxx
I miss his shows so much. I saw him over 30 times starting in the early 80s. To me he's one of the best performers of all time.

"Never gonna let you die.." ★
I'm a 14 years old girl from Germany and I love Bowie's music. I never was on a David Bowie concert but I have a story to tell: The half - sister of my dad was never a big Bowie fan but she was on a concert in cologne in 2003. She was there, but totally stoned. Still, she noticed a lot and said Bowie had an aura like 2000 headlights and a really incredible stage presence. She told he played amazing. She saw so much of the show because she was sitting in the VIP area and was very close to the stage. She was so lucky. As I already said, I love David Robert Jones and I think he's one of the best musicians of all time.
I agree with your dad's sister. I saw lots of concerts and his aura and energy were through the roof, out of this world. But you are lucky too: you are so young and yet you can appreciate and enjoy his music!
That is a beautiful story - I wish I could read auras! Bowie is the best. His newer music is just as captivating as his classics, he never ceases to amaze me.
14 and a fantastic taste in music,I went to see “The Spider Tour” when I was 14 in Manchester..... my first concert... Toni basil was the dancer and choreographer, also I saw Terrence Trent derby and Alison moyet as Bowie’s warm ups... it was amazing... I was still in care then so to see such a legend inspired me to always have music in my life and go to as many gigs as I can.... well done lovely,Bowie would be proud of you... did you know that Lorde (singer of Royal) is David’s goddaughter and helped her into music... (so I hear anyway) what’s your fav Bowie song?mines either the laughing Gnome... and Hero’s (also Hero’s and Bowie helped to bring the Berlin Wall down) and star man.. aww there is to many that I love... and remember Music is the Answer 🦋💓✌🏼
@@brits72 I love five years, Rock 'n' Roll suicide, Modern Love and fill your heart. Oh there are really so many good songs. Criminal world is also legendary! 😍
@@tylerpurrden yes he's really an incredible artist we'll never forget!
Irreplaceable genius Bowie will never be forgotten
I don't think it was a coincidence that everything went downhill when Bowie died.
I love Bowie :(
I miss David :(
We all do. His work will never die.
@Talorc MacAllan It is 🥺🥺😩
@Talorc MacAllan No worries man, I get you
Luckily the only relative ive had whos passed was someone i wasnt close with so it didnt affect me but my heart goes out to you man 😔👊 I hope you're doing great man
But yeah it does feel like a part of you has died when David did
I only got into his music because of the news on that day but even so, I still felt like I had lost myself even when all i knew about him was his iconic lightning bolt look and a few of his number ones.
@Talorc MacAllan Sadly I'm only 15 so I was never able to see him in concert or love but these are great, man- especially Scary Monsters. I feel bad that you lost two people who meant a lot to you but I hope you'll be able to get over it :) Lows a good album too. Think my favourite might be The Next Day though Aladdin Sane's close too. Still haven't gotten around to Blackstar since Lazarus and Blackstar make me sad as hell- can't imagine what it's like for you. Every now and then I'll just be spaced out thinking about Bowie and remember his death and then that night I'll have a dream about watching him on a deathbed, hurts alot but I'm glad he's no longer suffering, and I'm glad he didn't live to the pandemic because it would've been even worse for him.
The tracks are good too 👍👌
Have loved his music since 1972, and he still takes my breath away !
It’s hilarious how he’s giggling when he starts singing, as if playing this song is something embarrassing.
Yes, the theme of the song was kinda absurd but the laughing was also cute
The lyrics are hilarious.
So lovely ❤💔💖💖💖💫💫⚡⚡⚡⚡
This man was so precious that just knowing and enjoying all of his work makes me happy, even though I had no idea who the hell he was until 1 year ago. Now he's my biggest inspiration.

I was musically 🎼 🎹 raised by the man. I was 14 and too young to drive when my dad dropped me and my friends off at the Ziggy concert in Anahiem. My first concert. Years later I saw him at the Inglewood forum on his Young Americans tour. All his albums are great of course but check out his kinda obscure, little known, David Live double album. You'll be glad you did. All hail the Thin White Duke.
