  • Final update on the 2021 Kickstarter, getting ready for the 2022 effort.
2021 anorak project 1 went well, many lessons learnt. The business broke even and we know better what the margin and quantity needs to be to generate an income.
in 2022, probably in April, we will launch another Kickstarter for the anorak, setting a target of 200 anoraks. It is more ambitious than the target for 2021, but we're hoping word or mouth, good feedback, user stories and social media supporters will help us reach that target.
We are working hard to bring in the wool coat/liner for the anorak in time to join the 2022 campaign, as well as the sheepskin vest basic, and possibly waxed canvas over pants. It's a very tight turnaround however, with our factory needing to know by end of April so they can clearly schedule in production for the rest of the year.
Our update videos throughout the 2021 campaign were shot by Michael Mouritz, and we'll be working with Michael over coming weeks to produce a promotional video for the 2022 campaign.

Fabulous news! Found out about your company and anorak you designed just a few weeks ago. I was immediately impressed by the whole idea. As I could not yet order one I bought a military canvas one and head to a local tailor to add side zips on the whole body as in your case. Tested it for two weeks in the French Alps and it is the best temperature regulation system ever hands down beyond any membrane based competition. I even put the same zips on my warmth layer (icelandic wool cardigan) and went from below zero to 20 degrees Celsius on the same day without taking off my backpack: just using the zips and garment positioning. I strongly suggest you add the full side zips on the wool liner too. AND I WILL BE THE FIRST ONE TO ORDER THE ANORAK AND THE LINER FOR THE NEW KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN. Looking forward for it and all the best!

Awesome! Thanks for this review. I think it's great you modified gear to test the idea. I also think it's the best ventilation system. Even better than front opening jackets, especially because you don't then have these big panels flapping around, but mainly because the arms and side body are clearly big areas on heat. I'm definitely adding the same system to the wool liner too. Thanks for the confidence. See you in the Kickstarter when it launches.

@@Peakoilcompany Count on me. Now, on the liner I would suggest 1/ very thick and warm one to get the user covered in cold and harsh conditions. In warmer weather it's not a problem thanks to the very effective ventilation system. 2/ I would also add the front zip for even more temperature regulation options much like a Ruana cape that you can also drape or cross. This is what I have on my cardigan and it works absolutely beautiful and support the user no matter the outer temperature and the effort intensity the user puts on. Maybe we can also private message if alright for you.

I want one of these for the slow wind cold nights winds and the slightly warmer days of central Australia. Looks like the Anorak could be the answer to the ventilation and durability as a ground sheet as well.

New Kickstarter has launched. Search "canvas anorak and wool liner" in Kickstarter, or go www.kickstarter.com/projects/peakoilcompany/canvas-anorak-and-wool-coat

Jump on Kickstarter and search "anorak" you'll see it. But it's been slow this year. If we don't nake the target, we'll set up the website to take pre orders and produce a smaller run
