  • a unique feature of the Peak Oil Company waxed canvas anorak is the zippers down the side that open up full length. in this video I discuss the pros and cons of that feature, and how I've mitigated the cons. In short, if the zipper fails, it is set in to be very easily replaced. if the weather gets in, a reminder that is more about keeping the wind out anyway.

I make backpacks and other stuff with a similar design philosophy when it comes to failing parts. I think the same about zippers. But I still do use technical materials like tpu cordura, dyneema and stuff. But I work with leather for my whole life and I make all my models out of leather as well. The Jacket is a beatiful design, congats, the cuffs are very nice, I can see every detail and the cut is thouth trough and I know exactly how much contemplating it takes to get things that work this simple. Actually been to tasmania some years ago, impressive land, went to the mountains as well and slept in the scouts hut on mount wellington.
    superbeau!
