  • Dennis and I fished the castle area a few days ago. Video is kinda chopped up from a bad memory card working just part of the time. We caught 22 keeper Speckled Trout. The birds this day were holding nothing but white trout and sail cats. Just countless white trout 6”-12”. Please bring on October and a few cold snaps to get this bait pushed out and we can start catching some nice size fish.

    This was a awesome day! Birds like mosquitoes, white trout all you wanted, a huge manatee & some beautiful speckled trout.
    AJ was definitely dialed in on this trip!!

      This is the wall area Bayou Bienville. Be ready for idiots I haven’t fished there in a few years because of them. My last few trips have proven people are worse off than before. They see you catching they 7-8 boats on top of you it’s nuts. Like F’ing roaches.

    We used to have a trip every now and then where we could find no fish in our regular spots ,so it would result in chasing down the birds and usually we would tear them up under the gulls!

      Yeah they’re fun catching the first couple of them , but then ur like “SCREW DEM BIG BASTURDS, GIVE ME TROUT ANYTIME OVER REDS!” But taking home a big Red for the grill every now and then is mandatory( but don’t tell AJ that cuz he HATES catching reds lol!)

    Great video as always! Hoping to get a full box this Sunday with Dad and brother! Do you think the color of the artificial matters more? Or would you say the shape/type is more important?

    • @Laproduceman
      @Laproduceman  Рік тому

      If you find birds color or baits don’t matter. If you’re fishing without birds then color and baits definitely matter. Some days they want swamplures other days they want matrix just have to have both in the box of tricks.

    I never fish the birds , to much trash under them , went this morning chasing v reds but they are scattered around with this high water , made one stop just to see if anyone was home 25 trout 12.5-14 inches , tons of lil dinks in the mix , I ran out of tags , tagging lil reds in same spot , biologist are full of #%{} There’s plenty of reds in the marsh !

      Nice to hear that about the trout. Reds I just don’t chase anymore so you would know more about them than me 👍

      @@Laproduceman I just tag reds don’t keep any , waiting for trout to come back strong , think our bass gonna bite the dust , salinity been high all summer , haven’t caught one in a good while where I go ?

      I caught that one in the video way up the mrgo in very salty water so I would think they might be ok. Hopefully when the water goes down you can find some bass they might be pushed way back in the ponds. Like I said hopefully.

    Had we NOT fished the birds we mighta got skunked today. Shakers seemed to catch bigger specks today under birds. Had 14 specks 2 white trout and yes plenty throw backs but using tight- lined Shakers I had Zero throw backs. Gaff tops a plenty.

      Everyone has their own way of doing things. I look at it like it’s just white trout he’s grabbing with a towel so it’s all good. Some people just do it that way everyone is different
