I like the idea of the individual eye adjustments since some people don’t have uniform vision with respect to each eye. However, it reminds me a little of binoculars and those can take some time to dial in properly and not everyone gets it right. Also, it should be pointed out that with binoculars you can make those adjust while looking through them. If the adjustments are inside the VR HMD then you have to take it off to dial it in,…..less then ideal.
I'll take less than ideal manual one-time adjustment of everything over automated/electrical adjustment mechanisms that WILL undoubtedly die outside of warranty period and cost a fortune to repair if you could even source replacement parts, not to mention the complexity of implementation. More importantly the purchase cost would also be higher as is reflected in something like a Varjo headset for example.
@@martyporanek No one said it had to be automated. It wouldn’t be impossible or even difficult to simply add an external dial on each side for left and right eye adjustments. Undoubtedly there a number of VR enthusiasts that are now on their second or third VR HMD if not third or more. I’m on my third and the previous two have not failed even in the slightest way. While this is anecdotal, I see little reason to worry about what could possibly break on an HMD unless it’s very clearly a poor design overall. If it is then no worries as it’s simple to pass up buying one due to its poor design or exorbitant expense.
I'm really liking the descriptions of the weight, form factor, and clarity of this device. Even as a "secondary" VR headset (without full tracking systems, etc), that I wouldn't necessarily use for "VR Gaming", I could imagine using something like this to kick back on the couch/bed with films or 2D games (if the clarity is good enough for that?)... something that is not really practical atm with a full-scale, large form factor VR headset.

It looks super SLICK. Love the ipd and diopter adjustment. It would be so cool to replace my 65 inch 4k Sony, but at least in Q2 Netflix streams at low res. Can you watch Netflix or Prime in 4k in a virtual theater in this thing?
this is amazing. i think i am finally getting close to upgrading from my lenovo explorer. its been a long wait for tech thats worth upgrading to, but we are finally almost there! :) edit: and its not facebook!
This is the product, a shame Arpara missed the mark with the tracking but this is it, and it's something coming from an small company. The plug & play feature to the smartphone is an absolute most in my opinion as it makes the HMD more versatile.
I know this is technically an old video now, but I also know you do respond at times to comments so I hope you answer this: When you were looking at Squid Game in the headset, was the video fixed centered to your face no matter what direction you were looking at? Or did you get the 3DoF experience as if in a real theater?
I really want a portable device for watch something on the go. (I have Quest2 & Huawei VR Glass,, Q2 is too big, Huawei is lower reslution and poor playback App and work for huawei phone only). I am really exicite to see Arpara come with 5K display and keep it light. after some research, I found some down side: The biggest issue is if you connect it to your phone the battery level will down superfast. if you connect it to powerbank, The headset just doesn't work (it's not a all-in-one device like Quest2, it's only a HMD, we must buy miracast adaptor to stream). but if use miracast converter, the max res will down to 4K (even it's have a 5K display) and, 200g weight is main body only excalue anyother. and, if we like connect it to PC, we must have a Type-C or DP port on display card. if display card have only HDMI port, the res will reduce to FHD.
I want to upgrade from my Gear VR + Galaxy S7 (lol). Recommendations? I'd rather not invest in a PC but I'm open to it. Would get the Quest 2 but have some reservations.... Open to ideas! Don't think I'd commit to more than 2k total right now
Very very interesting, i didn't hear you mention anything about edge to edge clarity and sweet spot, is that because it IS edge to edge clarity? The weight and the price are also interesting. Compare it to the Varjo Aero?
Already signed up to get these as soon as they drop. The form factor and weight are huge for me for ergonomic and looks reasons. The refresh rate is a perfectly fine compromise to get an amazing picture quality from my perspective as someone who wants to work in VR, and occasionally use it for entertainment.
Micro oled is absolutely for the win here. The technology is just perfect for this application. It's pixel density is making possible to have normal lenses not fresnel lenses which is a huge step towards picture quality. Also adjustability like the diopter, which is almost impossible with fresnel lenses too. They have a very narrow focus range. And on top of all that, the deep blacks, and punchy colors. All this actually reduces eye strain, and helps prolonging healthy eye lifespan. And judging by the price of them, in a few years I think basically all vr headsets will have micro oled in them.
Just FOV comparison to varjo aero and other headsets will make my decision about buying it or not. If FOV is not much smaller and image is clear edge to edge it will be excellent headset for me.
We are like 10 years away from perfecting vr. I don't own one and have no plans to until I find them acceptable, but this size and so on is getting there. Can't wait for the future of vr.
I suspect we're about 5 years away from hitting the point where I'm willing to jump in. I don't need perfect, but it's an absolute wild west out there right now. Actually, depending on the display, I may jump in with PSVR 2. But I think we're still a ways off from VR being something my parents (for example) would get regular use out of, and that's where it needs to hit.
ANSWER PLEASE: Could I use this as a TV to play on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PC or even to watch Netflix? I'm not talking about virtual reality, but just reproduction of audio and video. Thank you for now.
Would be really glad if you could answer this. If you plug this into your phone, what would you say the screen size is? Like a 55 inch screen from 2 feet away? Or like a huge sized screen? Or maybe like how the quest 2 displays. Another question is how do you change this to be seen as a vr headset on your PC, since it has two different functionalities? Thank you.
This is almost too good to be true. Now we just need to wait for wigig 2. If they can deliver this screen and lens combo for 600 usd already, its pretty safe to asume that the this will be the new standard moving forward. Reverb, quest, vive and so on. Imo this is the most exiting thing in vr this year.
My perspective is that wired is a dinosaur that is dieing out. I'd rather have lower res than have to deal with cable management of the tether. It kills the immersion every time I need to turn left when the goal is to the right because my cable is kinking.
@@adrenalinejunkie3828 Okay .. am I missing something here (pass through cameras?) .. how do you see the screen on the phone if you’re wearing the headset ?

If this is XR2, why still need light house ?
Yes but are the corners clear? Can you pivot your head and keep the display stationery or is it fixed in front of you. Important issue!
A year later, where is it?
Whats your diopter? What ranges it supports?
Excited yes! But what about a price indication?
wow ! i 'll wait the all in one !!! good job Seb
Graphics looks sweet for sure, nice form factor
I didn't hear anything about the sweet spot mentioned. How is it when compared to the G2? is it blurry around the edges? bearing in mind that you said the G2 sweetspot was good and I personally think it's really bad.
he did touch up on thata when he first plugged it in i think. i say thats he could notice anything on the sides i think
do you think if I can wear my glasses while putting on this goggle?
it's wired to another device.... I guess you can't use it untethered? That is why it is light
So this is better than the aero at 1/4th of the cost ????? I cancel the aero right now then
Looks incredible very excited about the all in one
Great video, thank you! You just got one more subscriber! Cheers from Russia!
Amazing...
Will consider this as a desktop monitor replacement or phone video headset.
Very cool!
Is this headset stand-alone ?
Very cool that this also works with the phone and if not for the missing 6dof tracking, it would be a great replacement for the Quest 2 even if it required a cell phone or computer. Can you play VR games on the phone? Is there an app with games like the Quest home screen for the phone?
It looks super SLICK. Love the ipd and diopter adjustment. It would be so cool to replace my 65 inch 4k Sony, but at least in Q2 Netflix streams at low res. Can you watch Netflix or Prime in 4k in a virtual theater in this thing?
this is amazing. i think i am finally getting close to upgrading from my lenovo explorer. its been a long wait for tech thats worth upgrading to, but we are finally almost there! :)
edit: and its not facebook!
I like how your nose is complete out of the device so no fogging up.
What really blew me away is the diopter. Really wish other VR headsets would do this.
i guess those are the same lenses as vive flow
This is the product, a shame Arpara missed the mark with the tracking but this is it, and it's something coming from an small company. The plug & play feature to the smartphone is an absolute most in my opinion as it makes the HMD more versatile.
If you can connect your phone, can I connect my ps4?
I know this is technically an old video now, but I also know you do respond at times to comments so I hope you answer this: When you were looking at Squid Game in the headset, was the video fixed centered to your face no matter what direction you were looking at? Or did you get the 3DoF experience as if in a real theater?
I really want a portable device for watch something on the go. (I have Quest2 & Huawei VR Glass,, Q2 is too big, Huawei is lower reslution and poor playback App and work for huawei phone only). I am really exicite to see Arpara come with 5K display and keep it light. after some research, I found some down side:
The biggest issue is if you connect it to your phone the battery level will down superfast. if you connect it to powerbank, The headset just doesn't work (it's not a all-in-one device like Quest2, it's only a HMD, we must buy miracast adaptor to stream). but if use miracast converter, the max res will down to 4K (even it's have a 5K display)
and, 200g weight is main body only excalue anyother.
and, if we like connect it to PC, we must have a Type-C or DP port on display card. if display card have only HDMI port, the res will reduce to FHD.
the one you have (with no onboard cam tracking ) is 120HZ capable device the other one that is just like the quest 2 is only 90HZ .
Quest 2 supports 120 HZ now
FOV 95 degrees? Twice as big would be nice. For an ultimate VR solution at least. Also resolution is not 5K per eye.
I want to upgrade from my Gear VR + Galaxy S7 (lol). Recommendations? I'd rather not invest in a PC but I'm open to it. Would get the Quest 2 but have some reservations.... Open to ideas! Don't think I'd commit to more than 2k total right now
It looks like you installed the head strap upside-down, but can you use your phone to wirelessly stream PCVR content to the Arpara?
that's an interesting question espacially with 5G phone or wifi 6e
Was there light bleed from the nose? Looks pretty open.
The refresh rate is a perfectly fine compromise to get an amazing picture quality from my perspective as someone who wants to work in VR, and occasionally use it for entertainment.
everything about this is amazing. but no, 60fps is not enough for vr. unless you are just watching movies.
@@socks2441 it's kind of strange because the website seems to advertise there is a 120Hz refresh rate on the standalone version.
How do you connect it to your pc? I'm assuming USB C to Displayport? How do you power it? I'm assuming it gets power from your cell phone\computer?
Same question here.
A lot of potential here, haha signed up for a reservation to keep tabs on this, very cool!
Same, for both headset options.
Me too, for both options.
How does it compare the Varjo Aero?
Just FOV comparison to varjo aero and other headsets will make my decision about buying it or not. If FOV is not much smaller and image is clear edge to edge it will be excellent headset for me.
We are like 10 years away from perfecting vr. I don't own one and have no plans to until I find them acceptable, but this size and so on is getting there. Can't wait for the future of vr.
life's too short to wait until things are perfected
I hope you're young.
Any idea on price? Or launch date?
This with lighthouse, and index audio solution. WHERE DO I PLACE MY ORDER!
How does it look like compared to G2? the through the lens footage looks better compared to G2 ones, like more sharp due to less fuzziness
Ive just started using my oculus vr again because of airlink. I have been playing though skyrim. I need airlink moving forward, it's awesome.
ANSWER PLEASE: Could I use this as a TV to play on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PC or even to watch Netflix? I'm not talking about virtual reality, but just reproduction of audio and video.
Thank you for now.
Seems like 2022 is the year of VRs!
Very cool.. what's the expected pricing of the all in 1?
how does the picture compare to the oculus quest 2?
Would be really glad if you could answer this. If you plug this into your phone, what would you say the screen size is? Like a 55 inch screen from 2 feet away? Or like a huge sized screen? Or maybe like how the quest 2 displays.
Another question is how do you change this to be seen as a vr headset on your PC, since it has two different functionalities?
Thank you.
Have they annonced how much the all-in-one will cost and if there will be any trade offs from the stand alone?
This is almost too good to be true. Now we just need to wait for wigig 2.
If they can deliver this screen and lens combo for 600 usd already, its pretty safe to asume that the this will be the new standard moving forward. Reverb, quest, vive and so on. Imo this is the most exiting thing in vr this year.
this year? its the most exciting thing in the last 5 years.
How does the FOV compare to the Varjo Aero overall? Does it feel worse/better/similar?
🙌 next-gen finally!
My perspective is that wired is a dinosaur that is dieing out. I'd rather have lower res than have to deal with cable management of the tether.
It kills the immersion every time I need to turn left when the goal is to the right because my cable is kinking.
Thanks Sebastian. How do you interact with your phone when wearing the headset? Using the controllers?
@@adrenalinejunkie3828 Okay .. am I missing something here (pass through cameras?) .. how do you see the screen on the phone if you’re wearing the headset ?
Bruh why are there so many fake comments
Getting this just for media consunption would be awesome.
Could you do a video through the lenses showing some 2D apps from the phone and how the videos look?
A youtube video of yours could be just fine. Also a 2D game from PC
Hi, I have been looking for a set that has the highest resolution to use it as monitor not VR set, what would you recommend?
50 % off if you reserve the all in one. With ,1 dollar. Is it safe to do it?
