1981 FS Thunderbolt A2 4M Blower (Without and With Load)

Heres a quick video on the Sutorbilt 4MC Blowers used on most Thunderbolt sirens made from the mid 60s to the early 80s. This particular blower is on @HVACExplorations Thunderbolt 1003, this blower came from West Shore Services in Michigan off a Thunderbolt from a nuclear plant

the load is the thing that makes it do that weired air sound when the chopper winds down u can hear it with some tbolts

I see that WITH the load, the relief valve pops up a bit but without, it stays down. Does that mean you had to remove some of the washers? Cause It doesn't look like any got removed at all.

Nah its the position of the chopper that puts a load on it, without load the chopper would be in the open position and air freely flows through it. When the chopper was in the closed position air wasn’t able to flow freely so the relief valve opened and the blower pressure increased.

@@North_Jersey_Sirens Ah. I almost wondered if Northville's 1000 had that problem cause when Chris activated the blower, you can actually see the relief valve pop up a slight bit but I think it's because it doesn't have all the washer weight on the cap.

This siren is a 1000T because it has no solenoids and it is dual-toned.
