That is how the corruption happens in these towns. They make their own rules that are not based on the law. No wonder people are confused when every town thinks they are the law makers and there is no consistency even within the same State. I live in a small town of about 7000. If I want to speak to the Mayor I would just go find him. You could attend a monthly meeting and speak to him.
She’s saying she basically wants to screen the situation first to see if it’s even with scheduling a meeting with the mayor. In other words, she just wants to come up with an excuse of why you can’t see the mayor. This is how they prevent us from escalating things to our elected officials. The typical run around until you give up.

I disagree with America being free. Foreigners post comments all time about our police being too aggressive, too petty harassing people over nothing. We've lost most of our freedoms. Cops don't have any idea what Constitutional Rights are & are constantly violating our rights. Another issue foreigners comment on is how there's 8, 9, 10 cops responding to 1 man with a camera or a 1 vehicle traffic stop. That's a luxury seen only in America. An unnecessary one which screams police departments need defunding.

She is looking to preempt ,stage manage before you get to the mayor similar to when they ask for questions before they are interviewed.
Do you have the right to redress your grievances, but I don’t think that guarantees your right to do it directly to the mayor. For example, you can’t just request an audience with the president either. The purpose of a gatekeeper is to ensure the right priority for who would meet the mayor. His availability is not unlimited, so some kind of prioritization needs to occur. That said, if somebody’s rides were violated,a good mayor would ensure that that person does not get blocked at the gate

Not sure how the chain of command works, but seems the state's attorneys office would be interested to know about the police department's failure to forward the FOIA request which is a violation of state law.
I wonder who enforces the FOIA law? I wonder if any government agency/employee has ever been prosecuted for breaking those laws? After all, if a law isn't enforced, then it really isn't a law. As I often say, we the taxpayers, who pay for ALL of this government stuff, deserve to be treated better by our government employees.
