Great job guys🤩 It's always a good feeling when you get to those finishing bits and bobs done after the long haul of the whole build😎 Enjoyed Rogers narration👍
I hope James and his team are fully booked for years to come, if he isn't, he bloody well should be. I'd pay a premium for work of that quality and will if he will work in the south west. You'd be welcome to film the job too if you want Roger.
Good man Ian to reach for a few hand tools instead of the power tools all the time, it will show you and James quality that bit more if you've got good clients!
Another great video guys. I’ll remember that strap boss solvent weld tip. I used regular solvent weld when I put one in my loft. It’s only for a condensation trap drain off an extractor fan so hopefully won’t be an issue…
Great vid Rog. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the price increases, saw one earlier this month from Jewson - almost every category has gone up about 10% (some 15%) and the ONS says inflation is at 2.5%!
The world was on hold for a year, so everyone is starting jobs that were put on hold so demand is up thus the prices go up. It literally has nothing to do with inflation
Mock ye not the friendly Cumbrian. Beneath that cheerful exterior beats the heart of a man that still cleans his motorbike with a live ferret. Hard as nails Northerner and not a drop of shandy to be seen
Well Michael Lad, as 100% Cumbrian as I may be, I can quite honestly say I don’t have a motorbike or a ferret. Having said all that I have been bitten by my mates ferret, and I used to love ragging my mates old motorbike around the farm!
Loving the commentary on this video 👍🏻 Surely door stops are just PSE? Couldn’t you just rip some out of something else? Great job anyway, looking forward to the next one.
I got the "Apocalypse Now" reference. I love the smell of toe-jam in the morning. At 10 pm at night. Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyrie" methinks, to drown out the caterwauling karaoke from't pub o'ert road. Get in Richard!
If you’re talking about a countersink bit then yes they are good and really help to stop timber splitting when you drive a screw in especially when it’s near to the end of the piece. If that’s not what you’re talking about, I have no idea.
OHH James ?? ..... Can't WAIT to see what happens in a few years time when a change of carpets is due ... (Please ASK if you can Film it ;-) ............. Lovely Job though .........
I noticed the socket heights in the room that James was rolling the floor. I thought, and probably wrongly, that sockets had to be 1000mm or something from FFL. What's your thoughts please?
I think that in an extension the new sockets are allowed to follow the existing height in the house, something to do with the heights being apart of building regs and not electrical regs
Minimum recommended height is 450mm from FFL. However as this is an extension and the original house would not comply with current building regulations (part M I believe) the extension can match the existing house which is probably why they have installed the sockets slightly lower than modern regs.
I heard secondhand today that one of the big developers has been essentially panic buying to keep big sites going, £10m of bricks, blocks, cement and timber all sat for the next phase of a local estate development. No idea if it's true but it sort of makes sense of some of the madness.
@@SkillBuilder Actually, SBR produces some interesting references (many with triggers and magazines), but one is obviously the one you meant. Thanks for the upbeat video!
Tsk Tsk tsk, so Ian likes to use the 'tools of his predecessors' but prefer's to use a DeWalt driver rather than a yankee screwdriver when fitting door stops! Outrageous. Disgusting even. I actually feel queezy. That's it, i'm done with this chann.............. Only kidding of course! Nice one guys! Keep em coming. X
Excellent video and great humour Roger 😂
Pukka Job Guys!!
Thanks mate, very kind of you to say.
OK .................but why sbr the floor ? for the carpet fitters ???
@@antonyporter5045 James just loves the smell of it.
The SBR is what I call belt and braces!!
@@antonyporter5045 he said why he’s done it in the video 🤷🏼♂️
Liking the voice over Rog in your own style 🧱👍🏼
Great to see the job reaching completion. Plenty of enjoyable vids along the way for us viewers. Smashing job guys.
i do hope theres a full walk through at the end to show us just how much additional room there was
it's been great to watch
We will do one for sure, we just need to finish it!

Quality workmanship 👍
Great job guys, well done and excellent 😁👍🏻
Great quality job, well done.
Really enjoyed that video, bit different from the rest, customer will be pleased with that job,
I love the passion you guys have in your work.
Oh James! I love the attention to detail, the workmanship and the incredible attitude of you and the team. Great results. Not many in your class mate.
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.
Quality job. Quality video. Quality people.

Very entertaining Roger, fantastic job mate
Very enjoyable series👍
Nice work James, and Ian. 😉.
Ready for the next one now..
Thanks mate, it all came together when I started putting the kettle on!
Great video Roger, thanks !!1
Looks perfect!!
Comrade Roger,
Don't forget to fit half a dozen Air Source Heat Pumps and run the life out of them 24/7! Unlimited free DHW !!

Omg. I thought I was a bit of an over the top nutter for sbr'ing my flooring. Never imagined anyone else would do that.

Is the chamfer accessory for the screwgun much good? Been thinking about get one but wondered if it was just more faffing about and it'd not get used.

Classic, looking great. Is it actually finished in real life now, or are the videos quite up to date?
Thanks. That’s just a small part of it that’s complete, there’s plenty more to come.
Is this a documentary now, wow you positioned them sockets close to the skirting boards
The socket height matches the ones in the existing house.
Have a look at the room.
Split load DB, old school

Definitely not 1 meter above FFL, imagine how messy that would be with electrical cords
👍

To spend 10 million on materials for a estate the overall cost of the estate must be at least 30 million. How many housing estates cost 30 million??
Is elon musk panic buying construction materials?
Where Robyn the alcoholic dog
"The latest materials shortage" yeah tell me about it, running a building merchants branch is "fun" 😂
£1000 pound a month, you meant week right.?

"Letting him go" sounds like we sacked him. He is still out there doing his thing and is always welcome to come and play.
@@SkillBuilder it sounded to me like he was suggesting that you kept him in a cage.
I think I must have bought the last door stop off ebay the other week. Sorry.
What is SPR. Or more precisely, what does it stand for? Google just gives me a load of links but nothing mentioning what it stands for.
SBR sorry if that was not clear. Look it up and you will see a wealth of information, amazing stuff.

50 grand just for the timber 🤪
