Do not even try shooting the schmalturm mantlet💀.The middle area of the mantlet and the left and right sides are its reliable weak spots.A powerful 85mm gun has a high chance of one shotting the tank but if you know the model and have a weaker gun and your fighting the D model you could potentially use this shot trapped to kill it.But it is unreliable.
The F is basically immune to shot traps but the corners of the turret are your go to critical damage area.But at the BR you are facing the Panther F it is only scary in downtiers.But in most cases most guns at its BR won't have difficulty piercing it at the lower glacis plate.

yk what you should do? instead of using the & symbol to show angle, use the @ symbol, so you can say "80mm @ 55 deg, 80mm at 55 degrees, its much more grammatical than 80mm and 55 deg.
The panther A,D and G are the first tanks I actually struggle against in a tiger 1. Since the tiger 1’s 88 mm cannon can only pen the mailbox sides if the panther is directly staring at it. Also yea, there’s the cupola, but I find cupola shots extremely inconsistent.
Also if your using a Russian 85 with aphe, if the panther is angled even just like 30 degrees or something, you can pen it's side hull pretty easily if you have no other choice.

I find with most large APHEs, at least in the test drive, shooting just under the mantlet between it and the hull over pressures quite reliably
Most Large APHEs zip through UFP. So don't need to risk that.
