I have never understood why Victorians didn’t just have the mother in the photograph uncovered. That would be preferable to the creepy veiled figure holding the children.
I think they had to pay per person so it became too costly.
That's ridiculous!
It is a post mortem photo...the child is deceased.
Only typically done with deceased children/adults. The mother/loved ones were shrouded in black cloth & held them (the deceased) in place while the picture was taken. It took several minutes of standing still to take the photo in those times. So often the living when photographed with the dead would be blurry while the corpses would be clear (because of no movement). That may be another reason black shrouds were used.💖🤘
@@lesliebrophy2810. That’s similar to the artists commissioned before photography inventing the saying “that’ll cost you an arm and a leg.”
Poor dear child Genie Wiley 😢. What horrible life, all abusers who ruined her, will reap what they sowed. Though it won’t help her. So very tragic.
I’d rather have it narrated than to have to read it because I can’t see the little print
Ref the picture of the car in the Omagh bombing.
I've seen the same picture used in another posting where it says the father and son survived but the person who took the photograph was killed.
Only one can be correct.
I had seen the photo also with the same story
in the first image of the little boy...I believe he is alive...his eyes are not dilated (open pupils) which happens after death
I agree. I took a hard look at his eyes. If dead I believe they would been cloudy.
some photos were antemortem. I have a book that explains the whys and hows. brings to mind a picture of my mother-in-law when she was in hospice..it shows 2 of her sisters on either side of her smiling as if they were at a family picnic in years past. I mean no disrespect for the dying or the dead..in my observation the process of dying is both ugly and interesting. 🕊️🤍
Agree. I think he's alive
alive!
That two faced doll creeps me out! 😖😱
the idea came from studying uk politicians, still the same these days
3:08 The picture of the first diving suit looks like the mummy of Patrick the starfish in Spongebob Squarepants.
👋I pay my respects to your channel!❤ These photos took me back in time,⌛ thank you for your videos and your efforts!🙏 I love the vintage atmosphere: fireplace, hot tea, plaid and your videos🎞
nice video! thanks
Interesting photos.
The last one at Cheaha state Park. I have stood in the exact same spot as that young lady did. But I was standing there back in April of 1986 when my boyfriend (now husband) and I were dating we took our first camping trip there. The view is amazing.
Doll with two faces creepy I read man child near car explosion survived after walking away minutes earlier
I remember seeing on tv that young girl in Columbia trapped....I think from her waist down,.she was being filmed and when the photographer left her she waved goodbye. and smiled
Most Victorian “post Mortem” photos are wrongly identified as such and the subjects are actually alive. The practice wasn’t as widespread as we are told.
The story of Genie Wiley, Regina Kay Walters and Jolee Callan, is heart breaking! Well I am severely creeped out! Thank you for these amazing photos!
The last one, she looked so innocent just before the murder i felt very sad for her it moved me emotionally 😢 she didn't know it was coming and pushing her over the edge of the cliff after the fatal shot was
Brutal. 😢
The title of this video is not clickbait. These photos are very creepy.
no ice, hence the wrappings. people had different views on death in those days before it became big business
I believe that I read that the car in the bombing during the troubles did belong to that man but he and his child were not injured. There were a lot of injuries that day and some fatalities but the man and his son were not injured I don’t think. I’m gonna look it up now. If I’m wrong you will never hear it from me.
The man and child in the omagh bombing survived, the photographer sadly didn’t
Why mother's were covered with a black sheet was because the child was deceased, it was the thing to do in those days.😮
The last photo.
Ted Bundy's tools gets me, because as a child I was at a girl scout campout at a lake where he was said to have killed someone.
All were scary or sad. The mother dressed in black for baby photo was different for me
Even now people take photos if there loved ones they even pose with them alot of Europeans still do that in 2024 GOD SPEED TO ALL
the doll with 2 faces is creepy! I like dolls which have 2 bodies , shown by tipping the whole thing upside down/rightside up. the one shown is disturbing, imo. I saw a doll with just one face a while back at an antique store - there was something creepy about it - my middle son saw it on a separate outing and made a point of bringing it up in conversation.
the one showing the father and son on his shoulders during the troubles, which is an understatement, impacted me the most, for 2 reasons. the self proclaimed factions lived on the same island with the same needs and wants, choosing to attack and kill each other. makes zero sense to me. the other reason is that the son's eyes were covered with a black rectangle. in my opinion it's disrespectful.. it's ok to show their bodies but not his eyes? I've seen similar pictures where there's injuries, but the eyes and faces are blacked out. maybe it's just me.?
Dolls freak me out!! Well porcelain ones!!!
@@fionalawler6952 I hear ya.. some are freakier than others. when I was a youngster I had a doll with a china head.. it had a pretty face. sadly I became allergic to the body as diagnosed by a pediatrician. the doll went away. your last name reminded me , being the same as the Dr I remember, who made house calls. or maybe he was our dentist??
same name nonetheless. It's a small world-
even if you're not closely related. God bless you and yours!!
Do better research so you can have all your facts straight.
Karen much?
A bit click baity. They aren’t really that eerie.
where do you live ..........PARADISE
