Can we just appreciate the two guys on the far left and far right keeping everyone's tempo and beat for the entire song. Everyone else got to do awesome solos and flourishes and then you have those two playing like lightening, keeping up the tempo underneath them for the ENTIRE SONG. What a fucking boss.

In sleep he sang to me
    In dreams he came
That voice which calls to me
    And speaks my name
    And do I dream again?
    For now I find
The phantom of the opera is there
    Inside my mind
    Sing once again with me
    Our strange duet
    My power over you
    Grows stronger yet
And though you turn from me
    To glance behind
The phantom of the opera is here
    Inside your mind
Those who have seen your face
    Draw back in fear
I am the mask you wear
    It's me they hear
    My spirit and my voice
    In one combined
The phantom of the opera is there
    Inside my mind
In all your fantasies you always knew
That man and mystery were both in you
    And in this labyrinth
    Where night is blind
The phantom of the opera is here
    Inside my mind
    He's there
    The phantom of the opera

It never subsides. It builds tension and intrigue the ENTIRE SONG. It's like "Struggle of Sadness" from Yuyu Hakusho. It never ONCE properly resolves because it's is not supposed to. And it does so BEAUTIFULLY!
      It's almost cruel.

I played cello in HS, and I slowly learned that some cellos "liked" certain sounds more. My mother named her violin after playing it for hours to get a grasp of it's voice, and what name would suit it best.

I love when each musician has their own little solo in pieces like this. For example, 1:20. Not only does it give them a chance to show their personal skill, but it allows the listener to hear the difference between individual instruments. Like you can hear different sound/tone qualities with each instrument, making it sound like each cello has its own unique voice and I find that really fascinating.

    "Phantom Of The Opera"
    [Christine (Tarja):]
In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came
That voice which calls to me
    And speaks my name
And do I dream again? For now I find
The phantom of the opera is there
    Inside my mind
    [Phantom (Marco):]
Sing once again with me our strange duet
My power over you grows stronger yet
And though you turn from me to glance behind
The phantom of the opera is there
    Inside your mind
    [Christine (Tarja):]
Those who have seen your face
    Draw back in fear
I am the mask you wear
    [Phantom (Marco):]
    It's me they hear
    [Christine (Tarja) {Phantom (Marco)}:]
Your spirit and my voice in one combined
The phantom of the opera is there
    Inside my {your} mind
    [Voices:]
He's there the phantom of the opera
Beware the phantom of the opera
    [Phantom (Marco):]
In all your fantasies, you always knew
    That man and mystery
    [Christine (Tarja):]
    Were both in you
    [Christine (Tarja) {Phantom (Marco)}:]
And in this labyrinth where night is blind
The Phantom of the opera is here
    Inside my {your} mind
    [Phantom (Marco):]
    Sing, my angel of music

My favorite thing about UA-cam is that the amazing and incredible artist in the world, like this, can showcase their own talent for everyone to see. It allows for so much more opportunity, as well as creative freedom, then traditional entertainment outlets. So much talent and creativity is wasted, lost, or never seen waiting for record labels, or Hollywood to never discover them. This was a freakin masterpiece! I feel honored that I was able to witness such amazing talent and art.

DravenGal Oh yes! I’ve read it! Achingly depressing and haunting, not to mention extremely enthralling. I like to tell people you could get hitched on the book no matter what page you started reading on. The only complaint I have is perhaps that the ending felt pretty pointless and tacked on, but that’s minor. It’s still easily the most gorgeously written book I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading-leaps and bounds better that Leroux’s original novel, in my opinion.

Messed up the sound quality but I was still able to get what you mean. 0.75x does indeed emphasise certain parts way better and is the speed in which I've most commonly heard it being played. Then again, those were hobby orchestras, and they may simply have played it at a lower pace to ensure everyone is able to follow.

I actually can't stop listening and singing along. (Tough my voice certainly doesn't make it sound better;)
If anyone is interested in the lyrics of the original song so you could sing along to:
    [Christine :]
In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came,
that voice which calls to me,
    and speaks my name.
And do I dream again? For now I find
the phantom of the opera is there
    inside my mind.
    [Phantom :]
    Sing once again with me our strange duet;
my power over you grows stronger yet.
And though you turn from me to glance behind,
the phantom of the opera is there
    inside your mind.
    [Christine :]
Those who have seen your face
    draw back in fear.
I am the mask you wear,
    [Phantom :]
    it's me they hear.
    [Christine & Phantom :]
    Your spirit and my voice in one combined;
the phantom of the opera is there
    inside my/your mind.
    [Phantom :]
In all your fantasies, you always knew
    that man and mystery
    [Christine :]
    were both in you.
