I got mine and after mostly smooth going I got stuck at the final stretch. I was eagerly checking to see how you managed the backpack after following the annoying Takara vid (where everything goes smooth) but mine just wouldn’t fully compact. It should actually pop up another half inch covering that white section at 25:43 so in the end I pushed that fully up fully before squeezing the half’s together, obviously then they wouldn’t compact instead, but I just went for it with a solid click finally confirming. I like him but there’s always something that feels like a moment of force where it’s gonna break!!😅
I had transformed him several times before doing this review and even then i believe i got the gerwalk mode wrong, some panels still need to shift. Either ways it definately is a learning experience😂
Havin' seen a few reviews, I am massively struggling to see exactly what in Primus's left lugnut this thing does that FansToys "Phoenix" or even Hasbro Siege Jetfire didn't do just as well or better. (AND there's an oversized KO of Siege Jetfire coming out soon if not already) 😮😳🤯
And especially for the price it is difficult to justify picking this up if you have phoenix. I think where mp skyfire shines is in the alternate modes.
Urgh, I was psyched for this, but the more I watch these videos, the less I want it. It looks good from certain angles, but those gaps in the alt and gewalt modes, the build quality of the minifigs and the overall flimsiness just makes it hard to justify the asking price.
Phoenix looks more like a "heroic" interpretation of the character. While Skyfire comes across as a giant loof! Skyfire is my #1 favorite Autobot! And I'm not quite sure if I'll pick this up! I almost feel as though I'm expected to. I'll watch this video a dozen times, before I actually make up my mind!
I definately agree with you, Phoenix is more heroic. Phoenix more resembles don figueroas dreamwave Skyfire a more comic version. I think getting MP Skyfire just for his robotech homage is worth it.
@@arcade.101 I think that the cartoon accuracy is too much for me. As kids of the 80s....we imagined these characters to be heroic, strong, and cool as hell. However.. when an exact representation of a carton model is brought to fruition, it's not as cool looking as we had hoped. This Skyfire figure isn't the character I imagined him to be. And the massive gaps behind the front of the jet, and underneath the front of the jet pack....are undeniably ugly. Fanstoys and NewAge did a much better, cleaner job at representing my favorite Autobot!
@@arcade.101 I've decided to pass on it! As much as I love Skyfire, this figure isn't it. I'll stick with Fanstoys and NewAge! In fact.... I wish Phoenix was engineered exactly like the NewAge Firefox. The transformation is extremely well done. Both modes are clean and well executed! I especially love how the arms fold into the jetpack, instead of folding underneath, and into the chest. (Like all other skyfire figures do) The legs don't have a wide gap between them, while in jet mode. They peg together and close that gap. And the jet mode is clean from front to back, top to bottom! No gaps! If the NewAge Firefox were in scale with Masterpiece......it would be the PERFECT masterpiece skyfire!

best jetfire, if he weren´t so expensive i would get him. i´m not much into mps anymore but this is def one of the best they did in a long time.
Actually, your lighting was appropriate because more light would've probably drowned out the white sculpt details.

The gap in the gerwalk mode was my fault i didnt pull out the sliding panel that fills in the gap.
