The scene when the little kid hugs his neck. “Thank you Major Payne”. Spins him around into a headlock “what’s yo angle, boy? You plottin on me…you know I could snap yo neck in 20 different places” 😂😂😂😂
The story of the engine that could is pretty nice, not only because its hilarious, but also because Ms Walburn along with the viewers can clearly see Payne's PTSD at work as he gets sucked back into the story.
@@Quanicus I was too young to understand the concept of PTSD. At first I thought that he was just so good at his job, that he became obsessed with it and couldn't adapt well to civilian life. That much was true, but it went further. What Major went through shaped just about everything he IS. It made his little white-picket fence daydream scene all the more heartbreaking to watch. Even if he had that life--with a wife, kid, dog, and everything--there's no denying that carrying continuous war/bloodshed home with him would've made a mess of it. Dude needed help, and so do other vets. Shipping him off to a school with minors first thing and watching the hijinks was funny to watch alright, but it was incredibly irresponsible..~ The filthy barracks and public humiliation are atrocious, but he had a LIVE GUN(or GUNS?!) for crying out loud, yet was allowed to keep them on school property! The kids benefited from a strong authority figure, and would carry on his lessons for the rest of their lives--but they also needed safety and stability. Sure, he defended Alex from his alcoholic and abusive father--and trained Alex enough so that he can defend HIMSELF if he's ever attacked again--but kids need more than a hero who can rescue them at the last minute when they are in trouble. He needed to be consistent. Constantly babying them like what the Guidance Counselor(?) wanted (her 100% "nurturing" approach) wasn't going to work for the longterm, especially once they got older--but something in between that and what Major stood for would have been ideal. Middle ground and whatnot. I'm glad that it all worked out, all things considered. Tiger adores him, and I think he'll be a great dad with Ms. Walburn's patient, positive influence. But my goodness, I would not trust any kid of mine with him until after then--unless they were a little shit in desperate need of discipline/reform. XD
