Hear me out for a Slam Masters 3...they have so many characters they can add now like R.Mika, Nadeshiko, Alex, Hugo, El Fuerte, Hakan, Zangief, and whoever else fits. And make it an actual grappling wrestling game

loved the characters, Tetsuo Hara's designs., the stages, and the music. This gem probably ended up flying under the radar because there was so many other amazing arcade games at the time. Fire up an emulator and try it@@CBesRun
In my headcanon, "Saturday Night Slam Masters" is the CWA's weekly TV show, their equivalent to Raw or Dynamite. Haggar signed a contract with them after he left office and is now their on-screen authority figure like Attitude era Sgt. Slaughter.
Ok the way you laid it out, I take this as gospel for slam masters lore.
Haggar shouldn't be surprised by a projectile. Around that periods, pro wrestlers occasionally threw fireballs (using flash paper), often without any explanation as to how they'd performed a clearly magical attack. More "supernatural" pro wrestlers have controlled fire, summoned lightning, cast effective curses, controlled others with hypnosis, and the like. More comedy pro wrestlers have used invisible objects to full effect, like the infamous invisible hand grenade.
In Black Widow's ending it's revealed she's a muscle mommy, if anyone is interested...
For the 1st game In the los Angeles stage background you can see Chun Li cheering on Gunloc. 10:50 you can see her in the upper spot near the guy flailing his arm.

I remember the days of MVCI, when the MVC twitter announced the DLC characters with just a tweet, being the characters Sigma, Monster Hunter, Black Widow, Black Panther, Winter Soldier, and Venom. People started guessing that the Black Widow was this one from Slammasters, because there was no way they would put 4 Marvel characters and just 2 Capcom. Weird days...
Right? I guess everyone expected the inevitable second pack would have 4 characters from Capcom and 2 from Marvel. Exist there wasn't a second pack.
If you want a new Final Fight, it's pretty clear what must be done. That's right; a 10 hour video of every version of every game in the series.

I remember watching Slam Masters 2 with Max and his friends from yovideogames playing this on their Channel and I had no idea that this game was even interconnected to the street fighter lore.
What I find interesting though about the sprite work for this game was that if you look at Mike haggar who's supposed to be this big huge wrestler from the final fight series and when you look at the other wrestlers that he encounters they're like towering over him.

Always wanted to play this one. I think what made the first one stand out to me was the fact it was a fighting game but it had wrestling mechanics. You could jump off the top, it had entrances, and you won by pinfall or submission. Doing away with that kind of makes it just another fighting game. Would still like to play some time though.
We need at least one character from this game in SF6. As a playable character, that is. Gunloc?

... it is an absolute shame that neither CAPCOM, SNK, NAMCO-BANDAI, nor SEGA have provided us with a wrestler-only fighting game in decades(or ever for some of them). I would even take a BURIKI-ONE remake.

Seeing White Trash Anime (wrestling) with a Capcom spin is so wonderfully surreal. I miss the 90s sometimes. Playing these ridiculous games on giant coin ops was awesome.
Ring of Destruction is good, but I'm still disappointed they abandoned all pretense of it being a wrestling game like the original, and instead made it a standard 2D fighter.

Pretty sure Haggar took some inspiration from Jesse Ventura, so considering Ventura started as a wrestler, then an actor and finally as a politician, I'm guessing he has to be pretty charismatic.

I couldn't get into this game. It certainly isn't bad but I feel they took a game that wasn't broke, then took out its best features (co-op, wrestling) & turned it into Street Fighter with Slam Masters characters. Ah well. This was a fun watch.
Maybe it is just me but I really dig the Wrestlers' signatures. You look at Rasta Mon, who is a wild animal in the ring & in gimmick but he has quite the refined penmanship. All the wrestlers do.
Also Capcom borrowing from SNK with the Black Widow "secret reveal". Makes me wonder which company was WWF & which one was WCW.
