Garba is traditional gujarati style of dance.. Mostly done during a festival called Navaratri (literally meaning nine nights.. Basically it is a festival during october which is celebrated for nine days)
Hi guys, for more insight on Indian music(carnatic music which is more inclined towards south India) you should check out "seetha kalyana vaibhogame" song , it's amazing. Hope you accept my request.

Yes, bt nowdays bcz of the smartphones- photos and videos type stuff all the Indian citizens know about how this festival is celebrated wht is the importance?
And thus now many non-gujrati people also celebrate this festival and it's really fun and lovely to experience and celebrate. ❤️
I looooveee Garba...and I'm not even Gujarati.
It's gujarati, not gujarathi, gujarti, gujrati or gujrathi...as a Gujarati, I feel very offended and at the same time sad also that people don't spell it correctly
This garba dance is done during Navratri.Navratri is a time when Hindus celebrate the goddess Durga for killing the demon, Mahishasura.Garba is a dance that honors, worships, and celebrates the feminine form of divinity. The word "garba" comes from the Sanskrit word garbha, meaning "womb." Traditionally, the dance is performed by women in a circle around a clay lantern with a light inside, called a garbha deep ("womb lamp") 🇮🇳❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow.. I didn't know that much.
Very well said ✨👏😇

Garba is a dance form which is very high energy and kind of folk dance which is used to celebrate the festival of Navaratri all over India, mainly prominent in the state of Gujarat. The dance in the circles is called garba and it's a very famous environment to be a part of, people in hundreds gather in open fields to dance
Pretty sure it is not celebrated nationally. Only in gujarat, and probably in few other northern states
@@pareshpadhi2454 aisa nhi hai...! Ha utna prominent nhi hai but Garba nights hoti hai bhut si states mai !

If you recall the Ghar More Pardesia video, you saw the blue coloured diety - Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Lakshman living in exile enacted during a procession(I remember Efra mentioning that he knew about another blue coloured Hindu God- Lord Krishna , who is another later incarnation of Lord Vishnu).
Waleska is spot on in her surmise that the various 'avatars' of Lord Vishnu were sent on earth during different eras.
I am always amazed at how perceptive you both are. It shows real interest and a sharp mind- even though you keep claiming to be ignorant and stupid.
Yes you should react to ghar more pardesiya

Garba is traditional dance of Gujarat, its mainly performed in festivals or marriages. Navratri is the most popular festival in Gujarat and its celebration of Goddess Durga's win over evil and so for every day of the 9 day festival a different Goddess is celebrated and prayed who are all avatars of Durga. Drums and live singers and very important part of the festivals and have its unique beat and tempo crafted for the dance. Its a science in itself.

Indian/Hindu mythology is so so so fun, and learning about it in one comment is impossible. But being very Vishnu centric, it is said that whenever the evil starts to disrupt the balance of nature Vishnu takes a form of an earthly being, takes birth on earth, to destroy the evil ( Vishnu is one of three biggest deities (like Zeus Poseidon and hades in Greek) which are brahama (the creator), vishnu (the preserver/balancer) and shiva (the destroyer also the most important deity). Vishnu usually takes birth as a human but has also taken form of a tortoise, and a demi lion. I AM GUJARATI TOO BTW AND REALY LOVE YALL CHECKING OUT SOME GARBA SONGA HHA
Zeus should be compared with Indra. Both are lightning thunder Gods.
Like Greek gods living in mount Olympus Hindu Gods like Indra live above mount Meru.
While Vishnu is all prevading in all universes.

Trivia: Deepika was born in Copenhagen. Her father, Prakash Padukone, a champion badminton player, used to practice with another top player of the day, Denmark’s Martin Frost Hansen. He went on to become the All England Champion (on par with Wimbledon in tennis as a measure of prowess) in the 1970s. He disturbed the reign of Indonesia and rising Chinese hegemony in the game. I would not be surprised if she tried her hand at sport before she elected to become an actress. I am glad, though, she chose what she did.
You guys should attend Shreya Ghoshal 's live concert once, it would be larger than life experience.❤

There are the 3 holy trinity of hinduism- Lord Bramha, lord Rama & lord Shiva
As Walleska inferred, Lord Vishnu took birth in human form/ avatar(fun fact- Avatar is a Hindi word) in different time periods like as Lord Rama, lord Krishna, narsimha etc. And when his Goal of “Victory of good over evil” was achieved, he used to leave his human form.for ex Lord Buddha is the 9th avatar of Bhagwan Vishnu. So in Hinduism you are free to believe in & worship any God or any of their forms. I hope it helps
I’d be interested to know how you differentiate between mythology and religion- Esra and Waleska! It’s an interesting question I haven’t encountered before; for us, we don’t have clear demarcation between the two in practical terms. Our mythologies often form the basis of our religious practices, just as say the Egyptian mythologies formed the basis of the Egyptian religions in many ways.
To take a very specific example; say a religious ceremony invokes the God Shiva by referring to Him as the “blue throated one” or offering blue flowers to Him- that’s religion. The story behind why Shiva has a blue throat- that’s mythology. We usually don’t draw the line :)

I'm a Gujarati, but born and bought up in TELANGANA ( Telugu)...
The word Avatar is Incarnation, Waleska is right. This form of dance is the Garba, the folk dance of Gujarat state, performed during Navratri (nav-9 ratri-nights) that concludes with the festival of Dusshera (based on Ramayana-ancient Hindu epic in Indian classical Sanskrit language). Ranveer and Deepika were part of 3 of Sanjay Bhansali films. My family origins are Karnataka, Southern state, born there raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra, migrated young to Canada. I can speak Hindi, Marathi, Konkani. My family speaks Kannada, Konkani, Tulu, Hindi, Marathi. India has 22 languages, with immense number of dialects spoken from its languages. The most widely spoken in the country are Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada, Odia, Malayalam languages. It is quite normal most Indians are very well versed in more than one Indian language.
Indian mythology is an ocean.
Just to give you some context the illiad and oddesy is considered huge but Indian epic Mahabharata is bigger than these both epics combined.
And our definition of Avatar is quite different than what's being shown in Moon Night. The avatar is as powerful as the deity himself.
Yes you are right, in hindu mythology we believe when evil spreads and becomes unbearable, god takes a form of life(avatar) to destroy evil.
They fell in love in the movie sets. Cause they made so many movies together
Yeah . Avatar means incarnation of lord Vishnu. When evil rises and people lost to follow Dharma. Then he will incarnate .. He will not incarnate in every Time period but when Human needs he will come . In few years his 10th Avatar is going to take birth. 👍.. nice reaction..
Please correct your comment. When explaining Avatar word don't use "Re" prefix with Incarnation because "Re-incarnation" is different concept related to cycles of birth and re-birth as different living forms existing on this planet. Whereas Avatar simply means birth of divine soul to serve some purpose and when their task is completed they leave this world and are not bound to cycles of re-birth. Also word Avatar is not only related to Lord Vishnu only, as there are many deities which are considered to be avatars of different devi/devatas (Gods/Goddesses).

Actually here in India mostly every state has a different language. Every state has many languages. The one with the majority is the state language. And some states have classical dance and music. Every state has folk dance music.
For eg.
My state is Odisha
The state language is Odisha.
But there are many tribal languages in my state because of many tribal communities.
Classical dance/ music - Odishi ( one of the major classical dances)
Folk dance/music - sambalpuri ( there are others but this one is major)
Odisha's main deity is jagannath one form of Lord Vishnu.
Every state have things like this.
Festival, food etc. Every state have different one.
