One thing that's cool about this port is that the audio isn't compressed for characters. Everyone sounds super crisp in this game. Also yeah the Model 2 models and lighting is way better lol.
This is basically, Saturn character models and lighting vs Model 2 character models and lighting, both with simplified Saturn backgrounds. Pretty cool comparison
Although they aren't polygonal like model 2, Saturn backgrounds were more complex than those on PC (2 layers, one with zoom, with some line scrolling effects on Saturn vs one layer without transformations on PC).
There's no "lighting" (or real time light-sourcing to be specific) on the Saturn version nor the simplified PC version.
All highlights and shadows are baked in to the textures.
Why did VCD choose the low quality BG for the right? Is it as good as the arcade if you put them on highest? I guess not.

Me gusta un poco más la versión derecha, personajes con más detalles, polígonos y texturas.
De todas formas la versión sin mejorar es también excelente.
Por cierto, no sabía que la versión de PC tenía estas mejoras respecto a la versión Sega Saturn.

I remember this running like dogturd on PC hardware at the time of release, especially if you wanted the high-res backgrounds with the Model 2 character models. It is now probably easier/smarter to play Virtua Fighter 2 on an arcade emulator these days, aside from the otherwise excellent Saturn port anyway.
It ran just fine on my pc back then if I used the saturn graphics, only using model 2 made it run like crap on mine.

Why do the lighting effects in the right side look so good.
The Saturn version sacrificed everything for resolution and performance. The PC version allowed you to do the same.
Saturn version lacks real time light-sourcing. All highlights and shadows are baked in to the textures.
All Hi-res Saturn games do the same thing BTW.

Wish House of dead and virtua cop 2 got similar port on pc that had option to use model 2 quality graphics.

Differences i am seeing are that the left is using the same graphic style as the Sega Saturn port of the game, while the right is using (to the best of its ability) the graphic style of the Sega Model 2. I think i like the arcade look more due to the clear textures, but i still like the Saturn look as it does match the background unlike the Model 2 where the backgrounds are still Jpegs. By the way, i wonder how you got the music working, because every download of the game i had in the past has no music.
Because download versions didn't bother to rip the music, if you have the legit disc, then you have the music. lol

That's one way to win fights Stiener Screwdriver (Vertical Suplex Piledriver) everyone into oblivion. On the right side muscle definition is more visible. Wolf's pecs, abs, and traps are clean looking. Not mention during the left side's win pose Wolf's thighs go into his gut when he squats. On the right side his thighs stay where they should be.
