Your hair looks really good! I'm almost at my two month mark, still learning alot as I go.
Thank you & happy almost 2 months!! Lol!!! I definitely still have a lot to learn too
Yannie the loctologist recommended Dr. Bronners soap for shampoo
Your hair looks great!
I'm 2 weeks in right now 😭
Btw you have nice facial features
Thank you so much 💚 hang in there!!!!
I use the design essentials oat protein & henna shampoo for my first wash and design essentials honey crème moisture retention shampoo for my second wash. They smell great. Your locs look beautiful btw ❤️
Hmmm okay I’m gonna look that up!! Thank you💜💜
How many locs do you have Zaharra
Keep it up! If you gently palm roll it will help with the fuzziness too...
I didn’t really wanna palm roll :( but I think I might start
I'm 6 months into my loc journey as well! Giiiirl getchu some durags! i looove them and i have a ton! Bonnets dont do it for me anymore unless I'm having a lazy night lol. Your locs look soooo good btw 😊
Hmmm okay I’ll try one. another scarf to add to my collection 😂 thank you 💕
Im 6 months in myself with updates to my channel peace light and love
i would definitely go back and watch i love your loc videos….. i will be 4 months on the 18th of this month….. and im also trying to achieve the thicker locs…. i love your progress sis!!!!!
Thank you 🖤 congrats on 4 months sis!!!!
So far I'm using my du rag cuz of the comfort and they still look nice after a few days but it might get crazy after a while. But I'm enjoying this process🙏🏽
Coconut oil can cause hair and scalp dryness in some people. That is why Naptural 85 stop using it and so many other people on YT too.
Your locs are forming stunningly sis thank you for the consistency ❤️
I have the same issue some of my locs are flattening and I too do not palm roll because I want thic locs
I try to let them breathe through out the day and tie my silk scarf as loose as possible
the Walmart in Florida had some silk/satin scarfs for 7$ recently I would check them out
Blessings to you until the next update ❤️
thank you 💜💜💜 I might just strictly wear my bonnets from now on. I don’t need to buy any additional scarves or bonnets 💀😂😂
anybody recommend anything other than a du rag for men?
im 3 months loc is it okay to put metal cuffs in hair?
Castor oil is to thick and can cause build up.
I know some castor oil can be really thick so the one I buy is pretty thin. You think it can still cause build up?? What other oil should I use 👀
TayBrice have you tried using grape seed oil or sunflower oil? Their both light and moisturizing oils that works wonders
@@TayBrice it depends on what you consider to be thin or thick. Myself personally have not heard of a castor oil that was thin unless they was mixed with another oil. I use watched another video a girl who said she notice build up in her locs and the only thing she was using was castor oil so she switched to grape seed oil. Castor oil can be sticky as well and our hair already attracts dirt and dust from air. Also think about the porosity of your hair. Castor really did not penetrate the hair shaft it sits on it .
I have been locking for about 3 months and the friz is real!!! I gave up on neat Locs so now I just retwist once a month. I use tea tree giovani shampoo or Neutrogena anti-residue shampoo.
Oooo I really like tea tree shampoo’s. I’ll add that one to my list to try along w/ the Neutrogena shampoo
I use a bald cap once I get my retwist with a bonnet .
locs look great! thanks for sharing your journey!
Thank you 💜
Girl I have almost 30 headbands so I feel you....your locs are so pretty 🥰
Thank you 💕
I’m dead at all these scarfs you have 😂
sis & I found more 😩😂😂
My hair had the same oil residue I am 6 months locd as well. I started alternating between dr bronners and liquid African black soap and it helps get that residue out a lot!
I use the lavender Dr. Bronner’s now! I may try the Neutrogena anti-residue shampoo soon. Thank you 💜
If you are putting a scarf on while your hair is damp or wet that may be the reason why your locs are flat
Hmmmm okay thank you!!! I’ll keep that in mind
Hey I'm new to the locs as well. But I have a question do you think. At the start of each months retwist if you placed Bobby pins on your hair to help lay them down every night would it help you hair stay alot neater for maybe 75% of the whole month instead of just the 2weeks you been getting. I may just try that with mines. But maybe you should think about it too.
Your locs look great and healthy😍 I'm turning 5 months next week, And I have a few flat locs, however, when I wash and retwist, they look cylindrical. It's weird but we'll see.
Buffs/neck gaiters in polyester are not too tight on the head and in my experience stays on all night. They can also be used for styling like a headband, but mine are long enough to cover the entire head plus, and you can leave the top open so your head won’t sweat while you sleep. Gorgeous locs.
Your locs are beautiful. I’m 1 month and I spray& oil daily with a rubbing/massage. Is this too much manipulation on my hair?
Thank you!!! I personally don’t think that’s too much manipulation!! You may not need to oil your hair everyday tho! That’s something I learned in the beginning of my journey
@@TayBrice Good advice! TY!
i love using your videos for refrenece since our locs looks pretty similar
We started the same time! Your locs are looking great!
Yassss 7 months coming up soon ☺️ thank you!!!
For the flat locs just gently roll them back into place after they get wet. Get a "SLAP CAP'', for when you want to keep your locs sleek. Castor oil causes buildup, clogs pores and may be the reason for your scalp itchiness . You may need to do a vinegar soak with a clarifying shampoo.
Castor oil has been the only oil that doesn’t make my scalp itchy so far 🥴🥴 I try to get one that is really thin b/c I know they have different thickness’ & consistency’s. I’ll definitely start gently palming rolling the next time I retwist. I think I’m going to do an Apple cider vinegar rinse soon.... thank you 💜
@@TayBrice Welcome.
All the way to South Africa... I'm only two months
thank you 💜💜💜
Dr. Bronner’s soap has a lot of oil in it, which may be why your hair feels oily after using it. Recently I’ve been using the RenPure rose water shampoo
Wow that makes sense!!!! Thank you!!!
@@TayBrice you’re welcome! ❤️
First i spray appel vingerend than i was t my hair with dr boomer
I’ll have to try that. Thank you!!
Try snatched flames I love my bonnet
Awww I just looked them up on IG & I loveeee those. I wanna get one but I need to get rid of some of the other scarves I have first 😂
