Loving free smoke videos, here's my input Round Wins: Ant, Ant, Ant, Ant, Ant And please, I expect nobody to read this. These notes are for myself when I watch the video to compile my thoughts. I study argumentative logic and simply enjoy the intricacies of debate. If you're curious about my thoughts, though, they're all here! Overall Note: Ant was on his game today. He went bonkers. Lu seemed a little out of it as well, maybe, but Ant literally smoked Lu in every round except for round 4, where he still edged out the win from my standpoint. I'd like to say, also, that if you go back to other free smoke videos you'll see my votes being a lot more Lu-heavy, but I truly do think that some sort of switch flipped in Ant's argumentative style where he grew from mindlessly arguing every point and throwing out "nuh-uh!"s or their equivalents left and right to being accepting of the quality of all works of art and really being reasonable and thoughtful. Ant's argumentation matured, is what I'm saying. If you want the per-round notes, they're below. Per-Round Notes: In round 1, Ant owned Lu at first there with the talk about writing. Lu backed himself into a corner by saying that they were "different purposes" of writing and that they "weren't comparable" but then Ant pointed out basically that you have to and that "pound for pound" Mr. Morale is better writing-wise. Going into the debate about production, Lu made a good point about the production being better on Scaring the Hoes, but totally screwed up by saying that Mr. Morale's production did not compete. Ant realized this and made his point. Also the "selective hearing" line was hilarious. Ant was on a ROLL in the production debate. They start shouting a bit, whatever, then Lu makes the ridiculous remark that "I've gotten amazing performances from kendrick before why does that matter" which makes absolutely no sense? Mr. Morale has some of Kendrick's most amazing performances, and Ant points this out. That was a DOMINANT round for Ant. Ant starts off with some random debate about changing opinions in round 2, it's whatever but it knocks off a minute from the timer. Lu has his time to talk, makes solid points about the sequencing being better. However, Ant shows that it's a step down from NAHWC and that nullifies that point a little bit. Ant's point about reintroducing competition into the rap game was very strong and Lu's rebuttal was surface-level considering all the other shots that were thrown on We Don't Trust You. And then, Lu was defeated as soon as Ant said "what does creepin have to do with superheroes" I mean my god look at his face. Key point in an argument is that if you can make your audience laugh you've basically won. In round 3, Ant starts off strong by really minimizing the effectiveness of the consistency argument by simply not allowing Lu to bring it up. I like how collected Ant is with his argument at the start. He presents himself has someone who really takes in all of the potential arguments and this is a very intelligent play when regarding the fact that most people have The Forever Story above MMESYF (at least that I've talked to) and honestly he just seems very likeable and logical. Lu brings up the production, which is arguably superior to that of MMESYF but he doesn't give the point enough time to set before he moves on to his point about JID's versatility. Ant again says that he agrees with the points being made- JID is a very talented artist. It's interesting how Ant sort of turned the narrative of the argument into Lu making points trying to minimize Zel's accomplishments whilst Ant was uplifting both JID AND Zel. Lu again makes a rather questionable claim- in this case that Denzel isn't stepping outside his comfort zone- which Ant immediately refutes and makes his own claims about Denzel's growth as an artist. These claims are especially strong because of how irrefutable they are since Ant is ending the argument. I think Ant won this debate too, and I don't think it was very close, either. Even given his slip-ups with how Lu had ranked songs of the year, his likeable persona that he spent the argument building protected him from the negative effects of the mistakes. Lu starts off strong with an irrefutable point- but then he chooses to stray off to song rankings again. He makes the point about XO Tour Llif3 and it truly is a fantastic song, maybe the best of its kind, but Ant just agrees and forwards the argument. Lu makes a point about the highs being higher- which is, again, an irrefutable point considering they JUST said that XO Tour Llif3 was unbeatable. Then Ant hits him with the "because of one song?" which I think was actually a great play considering that at this point the only song that might be able to stack up as a "high" of Luv is Rage 2 is 20 Min, which Die Lit does have competition for. Ant comes out with a longer list of quality songs than Lu was able to. (also side note Lu's point about "Shoota is only good because of Uzi" is bonkers not because its not true but because he's literally saying that the song is good and competes with the likes of Luv Is Rage 2- he even confirms it when he says "youre getting luv is rage 2 uzi on there"). Lu makes the point about Uzi doing everything that Carti does, but better. He even brings up adlibs, which is an absurd argument considering Carti's sound is basically all adlibs. Ant brings up the argument that Uzi's sound has always been a little same-y between projects, which is irrefutable. Ant even steals the last say with the point about Luv is Rage 2 needing more features, which is fair enough. This was a closer argument and to be honest my personal opinion is that Luv is Rage 2 is incomparably superior to Die Lit, but looking just at the quality of arguments made, the round goes to Ant. Ant continues the reasonable and thoughtful front for round 5, and out the gate calls both albums 10/10. This signifies to the listener that this round comes down to pure argumentative ability. Lu sort of comes in randomly to interrupt Ant and say "classic albums!" which idk sort of came off a little wrong, maybe. He was trying to play the likeable and reasonable card, too. He attempts again, realizing his mistake, with his "i'll let you complete your though" which what sort of like a "thanks man, interrupt me twice just to say I can talk." Not a strong start, but it can be reverted. Ant then comes in with an irrefutable point that the Slim Shady LP was completely one of a kind. He also argues that the storytelling is superior and that Reasonable Doubt can be found in other NY albums like Illmatic. Lu then argues that Reasonable Doubt is completely authentic- a rather absurd argument considering that Ant had literally JUST cited albums that serve a similar purpose to Reasonable Doubt. He also names a plethora of fantastic songs from Reasonable Doubt, to which Ant comes right back and names all-time classics as well. Ant furthers the argument by deconstructing Lu's argument and saying that it comes from a point of pure subjectivity. This allows Ant to paint himself as the more objective opinion, especially when Lu gives him free reign to the conversation by challenging Ant's point. Ant steals the show then and rattles off literally every great thing about The Slim Shady LP. Lu screwed up. Ant even references a movie to show how Lu's argument is flawed. Ant even goes on at the very end of the argument to completely annihilate Lu's point that "Reasonable Doubt is more relatable to more people." And he even finishes it off with the classic "what the fuck does that even mean" which kind of completely sells it.

SSLP and RD are two albums from the 90s I've always felt were on par with each other. And i love both artists, but I think i'll give SSLP the edge here because of how goofy and cartoonish and comedic it is while syill being serious. A very unique album. Plus that rhyme scheme on Bad Meets Evil is the craziest ive ever heard on a rap song. Politics as Usual is the best song on both albums tho. Not just on bith albums, but I think its one of the best rap songs of all time. Amazing neo-soul / pop-rap song. Amazing video guys!
Have some more Billy woods and Armand hammer mentions in your videos. They are making some of the best rap albums currently and have super cool abstract and layered production
"Rocky Bottom" from SSLP is more relatable universally speaking than anything on Reasonable Doubt. People forget the strongest song from that album for some reason.
I was actually rewatching the 2022 best song video today and Lu didn’t even put melt session no 1 but it was because he didnt want to put 2 songs for 1 artist, great video nfr, great arguments too
I love Jay z and what he did with Reasonable Doubt, but c'mon. It does not touch the bar work, humor and hunger from Eminem on The Slim Shady LP. I might be biased but the boombap production and Jay z flows are nowhere near on the level of Eminem and what he did styleistcally and with his rapping alone.
Bro are u serious reasonable doubt is light years ahead of sslp Sslp has skips too And it has corny songs like my name is that kind a made Eminem corny image to hip hop World
This is the best series in NFR history! Thank you NFR! Also, I agree that Scaring the Hoes has better production than Mr. Morale. Mr. Morale has better story tho. 🙌🏼
I haven't heard most of these albums, such as the the forever story vs Melt My Eyes See Your Future (I literally only know about this album because of NFR) but I love hearing the discussions.
Scaring the hoes and Mr morale are pretty incomparable imo, completely different bodies of work. If I had to pick one tho I'd probably lean Mr Morale, although Kingdom Hearts Key is the best song out of the 2 albums.
Imo, Two by Uzi is one my favorite intros bro when your high af at a party that shit is euphoric. Long times amazing too tho that’s honestly a great matchup. Hopefully god can get both of them out they satanic ways and we get the old vibes back with a evolved tone.
Crown is not bland, it’s beautiful, no better piano chords could capture the tone of the song. You’re right about Purple Hearts. Bloated is the wrong thing to call this album. Even my least favorite songs still sequence well. It’s wonderfully sequenced. There are “skips” I guess, but nothing truly bad and I would 2 at most, but Kendrick makes such good bodies of works that even those songs should be played in respect to the full album experience
My picks: Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers > Scaring the Hoes - I prefer the classy, piano-driven production on MM&tBS. WE DON’T TRUST YOU > HEROES & VILLAINS - I liked a couple beats on WDTY. Melt My Eyez See Your Future > The Forever Story - MMESYF is a much more atmospheric album with absolute top-tier production, some of the best of all time. Luv Is Rage 2 > Die Lit - As someone who is very much not a fan of the styles of music of EITHER artist, LIR2 was SO well-made that it made even ME enjoy it thoroughly. Catchy beats, emotional verses, just so well-done. I also in general will always choose emo rap over rage, even though I strongly dislike both. The Slim Shady LP > Reasonable Doubt - A couple catchier songs on TSSLP, that’s all.
@udavidzzz those the only songs I like from uzi but I rather pick die lit because it has better production. Plus there both mumble rappers so it's not like 1 is better than the other.
@@kdawg6887 overall die lit musically it’s not even close to uzi luv is rage and yes they are “both mumble rappers” but Uzi can actuall make a rap song, trap song , rock song, club song, sad songs , love songs, edm type songs and carti can’t do all that once you get a chance listen to some uzi unreleased music you will say otherwise
Reasonable Doubt is not timeless bcoz there are other albums from Nas, Cam, Biggie, Fab, Kiss, that can give me a similar experience in terms of content. NY street politics from the 90s is not that much of a rarity in rap music as a subject matter. SSLP on the other hand is in a league of its own. The flows are so unique and fresh, the theme, the alterego, his delivery is raw and unprecedented, the descriptive language, the multisyllabatic rhyeme schemes...other than probably Esham, Necro, Cage or Redman, to a little extent, i cannot find that elsewhere.
1 rebuttal Ant missed out on SSLP VS REASONABLE DOUBT Lu says Jay Z speaks about real life relatable subjects grounded in reality. “Rock Bottom” talks about being engaged with a infant daughter while being “broke as fuck” and depressed “If I Had” talks about fake friends, not getting noticed musically Eminem does showcase real relatable experiences on this project He also is able to convey relatable situations and exaggerate the story conceptually like… “97 Bonny & Clyde” - Finding out his wife is cheating on him and he snaps “Brain Damage” being bullied in school but having the balls to stand up for himself I think the SSLP has much more range and versatility.
Fantastic debate Guys on the MM&TBS vs Scaring the hoes. I aligned more so with Scaring the hoes Luca made some great points on the the sample choices Peggy had done. Ant had a strong point on the writing Kendrick had which is very personal and powerful to the vein of heart.
yall overlooked If I Had and Rock Bottom on SSLP where Eminem’s talking about living in poverty, maybe outliers in the overall context of the album but they are certainly songs that would be relatable for many people
@@IeE-et4ds I do think RD is the better album, but Lou’s argument that it is more relative is in fact overlooking the relativity of SSLP which I believe is far more accessible to a wider range of people, even if some of the ideas are portrayed in a wacky way
luv is rage 2 > die lit - there's no point in arguing writing or stylistic choices because both playboi carti and uzi were peaking when making these albums this was the best versions of them by far, and lets be honest both aren't the best writers. - Sure uzi has never been an albums person and carti is a bit more calculated with his track lists, the main argument is that luv is rage 2 does have stronger bangers and stronger songs, its funny because die lit either has really good songs or mid songs, while luv is rage 2 has insane god tier songs and then some kind of terrible ones so it balances out. - Impact is a whole different thing, luv is rage 2 was criticized by old heads but it was an album that swayed popular opinion on mumble rappers, and a lot of people started to take mumble rappers and the new gen a lot more seriously thanks to that album and tbh kind of paved the way for an album like Die lit to be received so positively. - Also XO tour lif3 is probably one of the most important/best trap songs of the 2010s decade because it made people realize that mumble rappers weren't playing around, and brought a whole new sound to the rap space "emo rap"
Its crazy cause The forever story is number 2 on my best rap album list for 22 and MMESYF was third for 2022. Love the topic arrangements, experimentation both JID and Denzel takes. Slightly more risks and elevation of J.I.D on forever story we got to know his life. Crack sandwich, Bruddah nem, sistanem discuss his sister Dance Now bouncy wavy banger, surround sound, Cant punk me aggressive energetic hype track.
My Personal Opinion: MMATBS > Scaring The Hoes Heros & Villans > We Don’t Trust You The Forever Story > MMYSYF Die Lit > Luv Is Rage 2 Reasonable Doubt > The Slim Shady LP
1. STH and its not close. I like Mr Morale but STH is like a 8.5-9 to me where Mr Morale is a 6.5-7 2. Heroes & Villains, I think its just way better conceptually and the entire album feels like a movie. Kindoff indifferent to We Don't Trust You. 3. MMESYF. I love The Forever Story, but MMESYF is more my vibe and i replay it more often. Both 9/10 tho. 4. Dont know, dont really like either artist except some of their features (especially Carti) 5. Reasonable Doubt. Mainly cause i like Jay-Z's style, flow, and voice more than Eminem's. Just a bigger fan of Jay-Z tbh tho i like Em too.
Scaring the Hoes > MM&TBS We Don't Trust You > Heroes and Villains The Forever Story > MMESYF Die Lit > Luv is Rage 2 Reasonable Doubt > The Slim Shady LP
“Heroes And Villains” is a near perfect album my only skip is “On Time”. Meanwhile, “We Don’t Trust You” has 4 skips for me, “Ice Attack”, “Claustrophobic”, “Fried (She A Vibe)” and “Ain’t No Love”.
Scaring the hoes > Mr morale (very close) Heroes & Villains > WDTY (also very close) I still need to listen to Melt My Eyez Haven’t heard either Die Lit or LUVIR2 Reasonable Doubt > Slim Shady LP

Round Wins:
Ant, Ant, Ant, Ant, Ant
And please, I expect nobody to read this. These notes are for myself when I watch the video to compile my thoughts. I study argumentative logic and simply enjoy the intricacies of debate. If you're curious about my thoughts, though, they're all here!
Overall Note:
Ant was on his game today.
Per-Round Notes:
In round 1, Ant owned Lu at first there with the talk about writing.
4:59 Ant was so passionate about Mr Morale that he started playing we cry together!
Ant’s new cut makes him look like he doesn’t mess with a certain demographic
Lmfao don’t do that 😆
bro😂
10:32 Ant SILENCED him right there😂😂😂
Did you watch 5 seconds past that 😭
@@col7004it was for context of their argument
no way bro said "thank you proffesor anthony"😆29:09
Imo, Two by Uzi is one my favorite intros bro when your high af at a party that shit is euphoric. Long times amazing too tho that’s honestly a great matchup. Hopefully god can get both of them out they satanic ways and we get the old vibes back with a evolved tone.
Yall keep delivering 😮💨😮💨🔥🗣🔥🔥
Reasonable doubt clears the fuck out of reasonable doubt😭😭
Exactly I don't know wtf is this reasonable doubt is a top 10 hip hop album it's light years ahead of sslp
Bro what is this sentence
The only podcast I ever go out of my way to watch nowadays.
5:23 5 minutes in and I'm already creasing 😂 Love these two's ability to get so fired up about the most miniscule things
Banger of a video guys we need pt.3 asap💯💯💯💯
Crown is not bland, it’s beautiful, no better piano chords could capture the tone of the song. You’re right about Purple Hearts. Bloated is the wrong thing to call this album. Even my least favorite songs still sequence well. It’s wonderfully sequenced. There are “skips” I guess, but nothing truly bad and I would 2 at most, but Kendrick makes such good bodies of works that even those songs should be played in respect to the full album experience
This is some of the most violent fights I’ve seen from you guys
My picks:
Mr.
This one of my fav series yall make man lmfao shit always get heated af
Ant and Lu getting along warms my heart 😊
These are great matchups wow, all could go either way
I got MMatBS, H&V, The Forever Story, Die Lit, and Reasonable Doubt
Luv is rage 2 is light years better than die lit 😂 you forget lir2 had xo tour life, 20mins and the way life goes you trippin
1 rebuttal Ant missed out on
SSLP VS REASONABLE DOUBT
Lu says Jay Z speaks about real life relatable subjects grounded in reality.
“Rock Bottom” talks about being engaged with a infant daughter while being “broke as fuck” and depressed
“If I Had” talks about fake friends, not getting noticed musically
Eminem does showcase real relatable experiences on this project
He also is able to convey relatable situations and exaggerate the story conceptually like…
“97 Bonny & Clyde” - Finding out his wife is cheating on him and he snaps
“Brain Damage” being bullied in school but having the balls to stand up for himself
I think the SSLP has much more range and versatility.
Nope but reasonable doubt end of the day is light years ahead of sslp
@@IeE-et4dshell nah
Eminem vs. Jay-Z is wild lol😂😂😂. Jay-Z Reasonable Doubt is a MASTERPIECE🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻!!!
Y’all need to upload these free smokes as premieres so we can talk in a live chat as we watch😂
Facts
I agreed with Lu on every take I'm surprised
yall should have added grippy vs wah gwan delailah, 2 masterpieces of songs which shaped the way modern rap is right now
Fantastic debate Guys on the MM&TBS vs Scaring the hoes. I aligned more so with Scaring the hoes Luca made some great points on the the sample choices Peggy had done. Ant had a strong point on the writing Kendrick had which is very personal and powerful to the vein of heart.
Grew up on Eminem, but Reasonable Doubt holds up better than Slim Shady LP imo.
PLEASEEEEEE keep doin free smoke
yall overlooked If I Had and Rock Bottom on SSLP where Eminem’s talking about living in poverty, maybe outliers in the overall context of the album but they are certainly songs that would be relatable for many people
But over-all that album doesn't hold a candle to reasonable doubt
@@IeE-et4ds I do think RD is the better album, but Lou’s argument that it is more relative is in fact overlooking the relativity of SSLP which I believe is far more accessible to a wider range of people, even if some of the ideas are portrayed in a wacky way
luv is rage 2 > die lit
- there's no point in arguing writing or stylistic choices because both playboi carti and uzi were peaking when making these albums this was the best versions of them by far, and lets be honest both aren't the best writers.
1. Mr Morale
2. Equal I couldn’t decide
3. Forever story
4. Die lit
5. Reasonable doubt
Luv is rage 2 is million times better than die lit 😂 did you not listen to xo tour life, 20mins, the way life goes you gotta re listen to lir2
@@udavidzzz the best songs off of the album carry it a bit. LUV is rage 2 has like 2-3 skips and die lit has 1
1) Mr Morale and TBS
2) Heroes and Villains
3) Die Litt
4) The Slim Shady LP
Bro forgot about tfs vs mmesyf
Remove sslp and add RD and it's ok
@@zainedits4919 which albums are those lol
@@IeE-et4ds really??
You know lir2 the better album lol the best song on die lit is a uzi ft 😂
Thanks for the consistently great content guys 🔥
You can’t say “SCARING THE HOES is bad” just because it scared you!
dontchu love when 2 best friends argue over albums
“Brooklyns Finest with Biggie .. how are you for real ?!?!?”
“Do you want me to do this ???”
😂😂😂
Ant got me feeling rambunctious
MMATBS > Scaring the Hoes
WDTY > Heroes & Villians
Forever Story > MMESYF
Die Lit > Luv Is Rage 2
Reasonable Doubt > Slim Shady LP
My Personal Opinion:
MMATBS > Scaring The Hoes
Heros & Villans > We Don’t Trust You
The Forever Story > MMYSYF
Die Lit > Luv Is Rage 2
Reasonable Doubt > The Slim Shady LP
Please stop
I agree
Luv is rage 2 better than all these albums
1. STH and its not close. I like Mr Morale but STH is like a 8.5-9 to me where Mr Morale is a 6.5-7
2. Heroes & Villains, I think its just way better conceptually and the entire album feels like a movie. Kindoff indifferent to We Don't Trust You.
3. MMESYF. I love The Forever Story, but MMESYF is more my vibe and i replay it more often. Both 9/10 tho.
4. Dont know, dont really like either artist except some of their features (especially Carti)
5. Reasonable Doubt. Mainly cause i like Jay-Z's style, flow, and voice more than Eminem's. Just a bigger fan of Jay-Z tbh tho i like Em too.
Illmatic vs Ready To D*e and TPAB vs 2001
Good ones!
Scaring the Hoes > MM&TBS
We Don't Trust You > Heroes and Villains
The Forever Story > MMESYF
Die Lit > Luv is Rage 2
Reasonable Doubt > The Slim Shady LP
I agree on everything except reasonable doubt. Slim Shady LP is miles more creative, charismatic, fun and memorable
“Heroes And Villains” is a near perfect album my only skip is “On Time”. Meanwhile, “We Don’t Trust You” has 4 skips for me, “Ice Attack”, “Claustrophobic”, “Fried (She A Vibe)” and “Ain’t No Love”.
5:27 the last one minute was absolutely heat 🔥
The way after the 5 minutes ended and ant immediately starting smiling again was absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We need some polls to get a real winner!
Who got it for you?
Agree
Scaring the hoes > Mr morale (very close)
Heroes & Villains > WDTY (also very close)
I still need to listen to Melt My Eyez
Haven’t heard either Die Lit or LUVIR2
Reasonable Doubt > Slim Shady LP
MM,WDTY,MMESYF,DIE LIT,REASONABLE DBOUT
For Ever Story vs. Melt My Eyes is like Patek vs. Vacheron 🌟
