It’s the most annoying argument I see levied time and time again with old school rappers. “Rakim created Multi syllabic rap, no one is better than him.” No one is more important to rap than Rakim, maybe, but plenty of rappers took Rakim’s blueprint and pushed that shit up and over the cliff.
Honestly I agreed with more of Lus picks than Ants, but Ant SMOKED him during the debates. LIke the Baby and Gunna round for example when they were doing the VS, Lu told Ant that he couldnt use songs like Oh Okay or Cant Leave Without It because theyre both on the song, and then Lu used READY as an argument for Baby, which is A. a song that has them both on it, and B. a song where Gunna has 75% of the runtime, with both the hook and a longer verse than Lil Baby
I think J. Cole is better than Drake. Tho Drake has more catchy, memorable, vibe and head banging songs, J. Cole's lyricism, rhyming ability, discography, features, producing, overall production, vocals and pureness are better than Drake's
This is a question I would love to have answered: What makes 4YEO a classic? Just because it's a concept album by a big artist doesn't automatically put it in that category. 2014 at least made Cole a household name and has several iconic songs. 4yeo just doesn't.
@@lucabutterworth7996My biggest issue with it is the replay value. Yes, they are great songs, but I haven’t gone back most of those in YEARS. Drake matches Cole In nearly every other category and KILLS him w replayability

@@lumus7future way better than Travis for me. Travis has a better miss to hit ratio with his albums. But not many rappers in general fucking with a prime future
When it comes to Eminem and Drake everyone ignores their bad albums but other artists like Kendrick and J Cole are not even close to having that many misses. It has more weight compared to Drake with 4 misses and Eminem’s last 1/3 of his career.
Drake lowes are lower than j.cole but he's highes are higher. Eminem been around since 98 off course he has a couple bad albums. Overly dedicated is a bad album by kendrick
I think the argument of Kendrick v Em is one of the most difficult arguments in the culture. I can EASILY see why Kendrick would be above Em, however I personally disagree (will admit I am more biased towards Em tho, don’t particularly like TPAB or MMATBS, the others are solid but I don’t enjoy as Em’s best stuff). Kendrick fucking stomps Em on the catalog, SSLP, MMLP, TES and Relapse are all excellent albums and I do think Em’s three album run has had more influence and dominance whilst also being close to Kendrick’s level of quality but overall the three album run goes to Em, but overall Kendrick has him nabbed on the catalog. What keeps Em and Kendrick separate by one spot on my top ten list is the hold Em has on Kendrick with his skills. Lyrically Em is better. Em has a better flow and delivery. Obviously they’ve both had their respective primes with their skills but prime against prime it’s easily Em and if there was some way to get a numerical average of an MC’s skills I’d still bet on Eminem winning that. And finally, Eminem has definitely had a bigger impact. He has introduced much more people to the genre, his impact on the mainstream and is unrivalled, in hip hop as a whole he’s also incredibly influential, he’s influenced so many of the new generation including Kendrick himself. So in summary I think that overall Eminem is just slightly better than Kendrick, I get that Kendrick hasn’t had the time to influence as much but my point still stands. The three broad qualities I look for when comparing MC’s is catalog, skills and influence (in that order of importance) I do break it down more than that but I cba to write it all out. And Em is over K Dot for me on 2/3 of those but like I say. I very much understand the argument for Kendrick being superior. Much love from the UK.
I'd argue you on the skills.em is better lyrically, apart from that Kenny is better storyteller, more versatile, better artist, more creative and over all better rapper
My picks for favorite hip-hop artist: Drake > J. Cole (my #1 vs. my #3 favorite hip-hop artist) Kendrick Lamar > Eminem (Eminem is still in my top 10-15 but Kendrick is my #2) Future = Travis Scott (Travis' album discography is better by far, but Future's features are better by far in my opinion)

I will say at 13:10 Ant did not let Lu say anything at all for this topic until Lu mentioned it lol

@a.j.kimball1240 let's go gunna v baby 20 for 20
Ant said "your visibly frustrated" lmfao
Honestly I agreed with more of Lus picks than Ants, but Ant SMOKED him during the debates. LIke the Baby and Gunna round for example when they were doing the VS, Lu told Ant that he couldnt use songs like Oh Okay or Cant Leave Without It because theyre both on the song, and then Lu used READY as an argument for Baby, which is A. a song that has them both on it, and B. a song where Gunna has 75% of the runtime, with both the hook and a longer verse than Lil Baby
I love when Ant hits us with the disappointed “No… you’re so wrong… stop this” shit kills me
Cole, Kendrick, Joey (really close), lil baby, Future (really close)
I had the same, except I literally couldn’t decide on JID vs. Joey.
I say Joey only because he has more really good albums jid only has the forever story
I think J. Cole is better than Drake. Tho Drake has more catchy, memorable, vibe and head banging songs, J. Cole's lyricism, rhyming ability, discography, features, producing, overall production, vocals and pureness are better than Drake's
1. Drake
2. Kendrick Lamar
3. JID
4. Gunna
5. Travis Scott
They get so heated, I love it 🤣
This is a question I would love to have answered: What makes 4YEO a classic? Just because it's a concept album by a big artist doesn't automatically put it in that category. 2014 at least made Cole a household name and has several iconic songs. 4yeo just doesn't.
tbh its aged very well, has some great tracks, def has 1 specific miss imo, b yeah not a classic
Ok so 4yeo, neighbors, Deja vu, etc aren’t iconic songs? The entire album is a masterpiece that comes together to tell a very personal story.
@@lucabutterworth7996My biggest issue with it is the replay value. Yes, they are great songs, but I haven’t gone back most of those in YEARS. Drake matches Cole In nearly every other category and KILLS him w replayability
The classic argument is trash. The only thing that makes an album a classic is popularity. 4YEO is far superior to most albums that are considered "classics"
Agreed. Born Sinner is arguably more of a classic album than 4YEO.
At the end of the day. These arguments are opionated. You guys know what u like and have ur preferences..
Travis Scott does not miss EVER!!!

Catalogue/Replay Value: Drake, Kendrick, Joey Bada$$, Gunna, Travis Scott
Rapping ability eminem is fast but kendrick lyrics has more substance,Kenny is more versatile, creative overall better rapper
@@bruklamar4997 overall I like Kendrick’s music better and he has the better albums but in a rap battle Eminem would smoke him tbh
@@WeJammin rap battle don't make a rapper better tho,who make better rap songs I'd the real question
@@bruklamar4997 Uhhhh.. a 1v1 rap battle will tell you a lot about their “rapping ability” just cause you can make a hit doesn’t mean you know how to rap and vice versa. A true MC should be able to hold their own in a rap battle and a song!
Gotta make this a part 2

When it comes to Eminem and Drake everyone ignores their bad albums but other artists like Kendrick and J Cole are not even close to having that many misses. It has more weight compared to Drake with 4 misses and Eminem’s last 1/3 of his career.
Drake lowes are lower than j.cole but he's highes are higher. Eminem been around since 98 off course he has a couple bad albums. Overly dedicated is a bad album by kendrick
@@thialhoinj1971 overly dedicated is not a bad,it is not an album too
Lue has the worst confirmation bias 😭 Uses an aspect of an argument to support one artist but says ant can’t use it for another artist
Eminem>>Lamid
@@Odel964man i think em is better but no way is kendrick mid
Delivery also goes to Kenny as his albums are well produced and aged well than ems
you can tell ant has a better perspective and he proves it every time.
Lu has shallow viewpoints sometimes but they both stand on straight up bad takes too
Lou has a better perspective for me deep and reasonable
My picks for favorite hip-hop artist:
Drake > J. Cole (my #1 vs. my #3 favorite hip-hop artist)
Kendrick Lamar > Eminem (Eminem is still in my top 10-15 but Kendrick is my #2)
Future = Travis Scott (Travis' album discography is better by far, but Future's features are better by far in my opinion)

@@lumus7 see how you have to bring things that's not rap in to justify Drake being better. Cole hasnt has mid production born sinner and that was an album made for radio.
