Hi Stephanie and Oliver, I watch y’all’s channel from Louisiana! And I love boiled crabs!!! I lost my husband in June ! Before we married in 73 , he had gone to Maryland and had steamed crabs . And he always said if I ever tried steamed crabs I would never eat boiled again! Well I love them boiled and since I’m 70 , I don’t see me ever trying steamed ! I enjoy watching y’all’s channel. Thanks
My husband and I are both in our 70s and watch all of your videos. We wanted to let you both know what joy we get from every one of your videos.Thank you and bless you both.
We love to eat crabs! We have not been crabbing in a few years but we sure would love to come to SC and go crabbing…We’ll have to do that and see if we can catch some big ones like you guys! When we do we’ll leave a hash tag for salty reflections🦀 30:02
Western NC here 👋! Thank you for the boat ride and the crabs. Takes me away from the devistation around me, if only for a moment. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Man, I can taste those crabs. Yum
I've been thinking about you all in that area and praying for y'all. Are you seeing plenty of help for everyone affected? Some of my friends just delivered a load of supplies there and they were saying that they were sad to see the little effort put into helping the ones affected there.
Your videos are my favorite. I love how you are with your family. Crabbing and shelling are two of my favorite things to do on earth. I actually live on the cumberland plateau in east tennessee. I have been crabbing when i get to come to SC on vacation. I have taught my grandkids how, we can only crab from docks. It is always so much fun.
i'm a string crabber don't get to do it that often anymore I learned it from my mother who was raised "poor on the Point" in town of beaufort during the depression. I still have a lot of loved ones in beaufort and can't wait to get back down there from the Edgefield area thanks so much for all you do
From NC. 82 hrs old. Love crabs and all sea food. Just love ridding along with you. You have a great place and very fortunate to live there. You have a great family. We camped out at HI St Park for over 50 years . From SC 🥰🥰🥰

Successful crabbing video! I never knew the process for crabbing or shrimping until I started watching your videos. I was first attracted by the shelling, I’m a sheller. Fun to gather with family to eat good meals together. Enjoy!
We are from Oregon and we crab for Dungeness crab on the coast. The best time’s are September through June. Full of meat. They molt and the rest of the time so the meat is less. We also clean the crab before we cook them. Yum yum. Love your videos.
Thank you. We'd be crabbing every day if we were catching Dungeness crabs. lol. Just joking, but I would love to catch some Dungeness crabs. They are yummy.
When I was young , I remember going to eastern shore to pickup bushels from the watermen. Then blowing ice before going back to Baltimore. So yeah, I’ve got a deep attachment to what you’re doing! Thanks for the ride along!
I love visiting Santee. One of my good friends' family runs Cooper's Landing. My friend is no longer with us but we used to visit all the time. Stay safe and take care.

Good first pull 9 out of 10 keepers.
We're starting to see lots of big keepers. We're thankful.
I love the crab trapping videos! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like them!
I have never caught crabs but I sure do love to eat them.
We probably eat too many crabs. lol
So love watching you go crabbing! Now when you took them to your mom's did you have them stored in the fridge or freezer?
We had them in the freezer for a couple of days. We normally cook them before freezing them, but we didn't this time. They were still ok.
I live up in WNY. Never been crabbing but I sure do love to eat them.😊
They are tasty.
great video, i feel like im in the boat.
Glad you enjoyed. We want you to feel like you're along for the ride.
Wish I was there with ya
Good times.
WE ALWAYS USE CHICKEN THIGHS .
Thanks for sharing.
Do the commercial crabbers use the same type of traps as the rec. Do? 37:08 😊
Yes
Do you guys ever keep the crabs at your dock until they molt. For soft shell crabs. I love fried or sauteed soft shell crabs.❤
We don't but we do get lucky and catch a soft shell crab in our traps every once in a while. They're tasty.
Im from Maryland, crab capital. Never been crabbing but eat them often. 1 dozen of #1 males are $90 😭 but I will pay the price because its like a beautiful delicacy 😂
That's a lot of money for a dozen of crabs. I have seen that you guys have way bigger crabs there than we see here.
I love it when the fall colors come. I would love to to see those blue heroin birds close up.
Do you get loons there?
Yes
😀😀👍👍👍❤❤
❤️👍💯
If you go crabbing, it’s great to have a boat
There's lot of great places to crab without a boat in our area.
I have loved to crab since I was a very young age with my dad at three or four years old I I also love to eat them to Iuse fresh water catfish heads I also run a crab line I only catch what I can eat I was raised in south Louisiana now I live in the gulf coast area of Texas, near Port Lavaca
Thanks for sharing a little bit of your life with us. I grew up handlining from riverbanks with my family.
Would love to go crabbing with you 😊
👍
In Charleston, SC...i like using some type of oily mackerel or big fat mullet.
Both of those are great crab bait.
Did I miss the Monkey clip? I’ll out y’all’s shorts.
Blessings from TN❤
I left the clip out. lol The monkeys were being naughty.
Have you always lived there?
SC? Yes
Curious question.. why is that big white boat still sitting in the water? Do the live in it ?
It's awaiting its next adventure.
@ oh, I was wondering because it's not on a dock thingy like your boat is so how do they get in it? I drove from Charlotte NC to Beaufort to try to find a pier to crab and fish Saturday but I didn’t have any luck, where can I go?
Broad River Fishing Pier
We crab gulf shores Alabama and I have 4 traps and average around 14 crabs per pod
Thanks for the response.
I crab at gulf shores Alabama and dolphin island Alabama and when the are running we average 14 to 16 per pod
24 hr soak?
Why don’t you get a cast net to get some bait shrimp to throw in your freezer. Much easier.
I have several of them.
I live near Greenville SC and am 63 and retired. I've never eaten crabs (only had crab meat in a can) and would love to be a mate on your boat for a day and also help clean, cook and eat a few with you!
Sounds like a fun day.
