I remember this game sooo well. I was 14 at the time and damn they snapped. I just started highschool. Damn never knew how terrible TV reception was back then lol
Best game of his career and (arguably) one of the best in Eagles history. Rueben Frank recently ranked this game #4 best behind Wilbert Montgomery vs. Cowboys in 1981 (3rd), LeSean McCoy vs Detroit Lions in 2013 (the heavy snow game he went off in the 4th quarter of) (2nd), and then 1st was Van Buren vs the Rams in 1949 where he went 31 for 196 in torrential rain in the NFC (then NFL) championship game. Personally, I think considering the team he played against and how extreme the weather was, LeSean and Duce have to be arguably #1 and #2. For reference, the fifth best game on Rueben's list was the monster performance LeGarrette Blount, Jay Ajayi and Corey Clement put on in the first Super Bowl victory behind Nick Foles. So yeah, even if I don't agree with his list the company up there with Duce during this game is JARRING.
@@someperson2287 No love for the time Westbrook had 102 rushing yards, 98 receiving yards, and 3 touchdowns in the FIRST HALF vs Detroit in 2007? He played a couple of drives in the second half and finished with 110 rushing and 111 receiving yards on 19 touches. THAT didn't make the top 5? Embarrassing.
I remember watching that game and thinking how ridiculous was the thought that pickle juice could actually help relieve muscle cramps. Now I know that it's really true!!
Aaron Sanchez no but he probably wishes it was. So many concussions his last few years behind horrible o-lines which made no sense since they were great run blockers
No, but there's a few things everyone seems to forget. Aikman finished the season. He played a few weeks after this game but when they played the Eagles at home next, Aikman "couldn't" play. But the next week he threw for his only 300 yard game of the season (debatable that he suffered another big concussion in the previous Jaguars game). And he only had two 200 yard games that year. But Aikman has gone on record saying that game was the first time he realized he was ready to retire. He had no chance and Jim Johnson had beaten him down every chance he got since Jim took the job. Jim knew exactly how to get into Aikman's head and exactly where to hit him. I mean, Jim had that with a lot of QBs and defenses but he never was as good at it as he was with Aikman. It also didn't help Troy's offense was decimated by the pass rush after the 1996 season although they were still great blocking for the run. In fact, some can still hear the effects of this game when they tune in to FOX for a big game with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. You can almost hear Jeremiah Trotter or Hugh Douglas screaming in the background as he tries to formulate a thought. Haha.
Man people really calling the Cowboys 98' and 99' Cowboys offensive lines poor pass blockers? Those were damn good offensive lines still. 97' would be the one down year they had in the 90's.

I remember this game sooo well. I was 14 at the time and damn they snapped. I just started highschool. Damn never knew how terrible TV reception was back then lol
TV quality was not nearly this bad, this is simply a poor quality recording, but it’s the only recording of this game currently on the internet
Ohhhh ok gotchu lol@@TheLocalLt
Staley was a beast in that game

Yessir and in the heat too! That had to be rough!

Unstoppable. Probably would have lost without him.
Hopefully, "up there", Summerall and Madden are calling games. =]
This game was the start of the Eagles' dominance of the NFC East at the turn of the century. Such a good team, too bad they couldn't win a Super Bowl.
EPIC START TO THE GAME #onsides
And they scored a TD
Pickle juice game was sweet.
I remember watching this game at my sister’s house I recorded the game I was in shock!!!!
I remember watching that game and thinking how ridiculous was the thought that pickle juice could actually help relieve muscle cramps. Now I know that it's really true!!
McNabb didn't drink the pickle juice 😂
Duce was a bad boy , should have been a head coach long time ago
Anyone remember the game where the Eagles sacked Troy aching Aikman 11 times? That game was awesome. Maybe 1991 or 1992.
I miss Michaels and Madden.
Can you do an extended video on the first Eagles-Cowboys game at the Linc in 2003?
Loved this game we destroyed them cowgirls lol
The Dallas Dynasty of the nineties was officially over when the Cowboys came out of the locker room before the opening kickoff.
Fly eagles fly
Randall in Dallas. Nah...
Was this troys last game?
Aaron Sanchez no but he probably wishes it was. So many concussions his last few years behind horrible o-lines which made no sense since they were great run blockers
It was home vs the redskins I believe

He retired at the end of this season. All the concussions and injuries did him in.
I would too though, especially playing for Dallas.

Deuce juice.
