I can’t even imagine. Must’ve been a madhouse when the bears and bucs officially lost. Seemed so improbable to start the day, eagles were playing with new life once that hope came back. Dallas must’ve been terrified 😅
Man I miss Dawkins, what a legend. I was flying back home when this game happened. We had 3 layovers (on the east coast) in short order and each airport had this game on, it was awesome to see the score going up each time I tuned back in lol

Never get tired of remembering that night
I was a farm hand at the time this game was played. My boss was a Cowboys fan. He left while we were still milking the cows to go watch this game. I found out the score when I got home that night. I asked him very nonchalantly the next morning how the game went. His response... "I don't want to talk about it". Too bad the Eagles had to lose to Kurt Warner in the playoffs. We would have wooped the Steelers butts in the Super Bowl.
After getting into the playoffs in such miraculous fashion, it started to feel like destiny… gotta be the most underrated eagles season since I’ve been a fan (2000).
That play by dawkins at the end was crazy. He grabbed barbers jerey at the front and then reached around him with his other hand and knocked the ball out while simultaneously tackling barber to the ground. Awesome play
Wow. Phillips looks really like he aged a lot throughout this season, I mean he was already up there on age but he looked a lot rough on the edges compared from season start to finish. That was how bad of a collapse the Cowpokes went through this year.

Our team right now reminds me a lot of this Eagles team. They were so good but just never able to put it all together, hopefully 2022 we can be NFC champions again. I believe the Bills will win the AFC easily this year.

This game was over before it started. That Cowboys team, as talented as it was, was fractured with different factions in the locker room. As challenging as the Eagles 2008 season was, they didn't have that issue. As soon as this game became "win and in" that day, it was over. You could even tell from the way the Eagles players entered the field compared to the Cowboys. It's almost as if the Dallas players knew deep down they were screwed.
Best game to be at!!…went w my bro, and Texans needed to beat Chicago for us and i think also another team needed to lose !!🙌🏻🙌🏻🦅🦅

The rams went 2-14 this season. Only two wins were vs the cowboys and the skins... ultimately costing both teams a playoff spot considering they should have been an easy w instead of an L.. Washington finished 8-8. Winning vs the rams would have put them at 9-7. Now, they had nothing to play for in week 17 and ultimately lost. Had they beat the rams and gone into week 17 at 9-6, they might have won considering that they had the playoffs on the line. Dallas who finished 9-7 could have rested their starters in this game had they beat the 2-14 rams. Dallas would have been 10-5 coming into this one with a wildcard birth locked up because the eagles at best could only finish 9-6-1.. the eagles beat the rams as they should have.. long story short the skins and cowboys missed the playoffs in 08 because they gave the rams their only 2 wins that year. #funfact

This game just goes to show you how DOMINANT and intimidating Dawkins was. 2 forced fumbles for Tds with Dallas putting together decent drives and he just took the game over. Dude was the definition of strength, football intelligence, and the beating heart of the Eagles. My favorite Eagles player of all time.
