i selled my whole smash up collection for 240 euro despite loving the game ... i always searched for a streamlined alternative. feels like this game was made for me. purchased it for double the price to get it to germany. no regrets
@@RuthlessandDisciplined no that was not the problem. Every expansion introduced poorly explained new mechanics and longer and longer card texts. Not every expansion harmonized with every other and it was just not possible to just play the game. In the end i had to study the Wiki to explain all the weird edge cases. It lost its accessibility for me and my friends and we got tired of it.
Air land and Sea/Critters at War has three spots to win just like this. The cards have a 2 on the opposite side, and card powers on the front allow you to flip the cards or move them. Complile has more variety in cards, but appears to almost be the same game. Have you played it?
That is a shame about the rules ambiguity, because players shouldn't have to use external sources to play a game, the rules should be clear and well thought out.
I watched this review and immediately went to my LGS to purchase Compile. Looking forward to my first game! Thanks Dan!
Awesome let me know what you think!

This was the highlight game of Gen Con for my group.
That's great to hear!
Its sold out everywhere. Will there be a second printing?
I imagine they already have it printing again
Do I need this if I own and enjoy Air Lands and Sea?
Mixing together the decks gives this a totally different feel. I think this is much better than Air Lands and’s Sea.
This feels a lot like Master of Wills
Will the box fit the cards of if I sleeve them?
I would think so there is a ton of room in the box for expected expansions I would guess
@@TheGameBoyGeeks I think it's more a question of width/height rather than thickness.

I liked this much more than Land air and sea. Having each protocol having its own deck and selecting 3 to smash up makes this game amazing

I believe they are releasing an official faq and they 2nd edition should have better rules.
